COMPLETE NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE
Not really sure where to start with this one since every single part of dealing with Derbyshire performance has been extremely stressful and caused more headaches than I can remember. Bought a car from this lot in December and the process of buying was more stressful than trying to catch a flight with a family of 10. The salesmen were very pushy and got easily aggravated when I told them I needed some time to work things out. The advert described this car as having a "huge spec" which turned out to be a blatant lie and the car itself turns out to have the lowest spec I have ever seen on one of these models, unfortunately my experience is in older cars where this isn't as much of a concern. When it came to test driving the car, I instantly noticed a vibrating coming from a front wheel so I pulled up to call the dealership about this and got no reply so I drove back to the dealership to notify them of this. They claimed that this noise was from rusted brake discs and when asked of they were sure I was told "1 million percent mate", this also turned out to be a lie when multiple garages identified this to be a worn wheel bearing. Against all logic I decided to purchase the vehicle after being hassled by the dealership, they replaced the brake discs on the car which obviously didn't fix the noise they had promised was the brake discs. After I had purchased the car they took a good 2 weeks to get the car ready so I could pick it up which is far longer than I was happy to wait. When picking up the car I was looking forward to a nice shiny clean/ polished car which was not the case. I was instead greeted by a car that looked like it had just come from a dirty garage and not touched since. Having driven the car home, it was obvious that the vibrating noise was not going away so it got it booked into a garage and notified the dealership. The dealership told me they would pay for this issue to be resolved which turned out to be yet another lie. Not long after trying to get the car booked into get the wheel bearing fixed, the rear differential/haldex blew up. Obviously furious, I contacted the dealer and told them to fix it and they shoved me off to the warranty. After countless messages they agreed to take the car in to fix the diff and also agreed to pay for the wheel bearing to be fixed. After having to pay £300 to have the car trailered up there as I believed they would make my life easier for some reason, I attempted to maintain contact and asked to be kept up to date with the goings on of my car. This was very difficult and Derbyshire performance ended up keeping my car for an entire MONTH without touching it leaving me without a stable car for this time, when asking about the car I was constantly told that the garage (DRS) were in contacts with the warranty about this, this was another lie. When contacting the warranty company to confirm this they told me they hadn't heard from anyone regarding my car and the garage later confirmed that they did not receive the car for a month after I had sent it to them. Once the garage had received the car it was then a battle with the warranty to get my claim through and fulfilled. This too took well over a month and was another ball ache to get through. Once the full claim for both the wheel bearing and rear differential had been put through I was then told that the warranty would not be paying out anything on my £1,700 claim. I knew that hassling with the warranty would be pointless so knowing Derbyshire had agreed to pay for the wheel bearing at least, I told the garage to go ahead and fit the parts as soon as. When this was done I took another 5 hours worth of trains to get there so I could confront the owner of Derbyshire performance in person I was told he was not there, so having been told by DRS that the car was in perfect working order I decided to head home and contact them over the phone. I soon noticed that the work on the haldex was to no avail and traction issues they had stated were gone were still present. When I confronted DSR about this they all but called me a liar. Not long after this 2 of the bolts they had worked on through the wheel bearing had come lose and almost taken out my front driveshafts and left me stranded an hour away from home in the middle of the night and then another time a few days later. All because they hadn't torqued a few bolts properly. After confronting them about this they also called me a liar. When contacting Derbyshire performance in attempt to claim back the money for the wheel bearing that they agreed to cover they told me they would contact the warranty. I told them that I wanted the money to come from them instead of the warranty company and they ignored me. When expressing my frustration to them over watsapp they once again ignored me and I will most likely never see any money for the work they had agreed to cover. All in all, if you are reading through these 1 star reviews deciding whether or not to pursue any dealings with Derbyshire performance, I urge you to stay away because they will take advantage of you in any which way they can.
