I purchased a 2005 Ford Mondeo TDi from Grafton Garage at the end of Feb 2014. Upon test driving the car with my dad who came with me, we noticed a slight knocking noise to the rear of the vehicle. When we pointed this out to the dealer he said it was just a loose or missing exhaust mount, so took it on his word and purchased the car. After just 3 months and doing very little mileage the car was due its MOT, which it failed miserably on, including a leaking rear brake calliper, worn track rod end, CV joint boot bust, and anti roll bar suspension link arm worn, total cost for repair over £500. The latter fault the link arm turned out to be the cause of the very noise we questioned the dealer about in the first place prior to purchasing the vehicle also the garage that did the MOT advised that the leaking brake calliper was a long standing fault i.e. longer than 3 months due to the thickness of the dust and debris build up where the leak had formed around the brake calliper body. On this basis as they were pre-existing faults I called Grafton Garage to ask if he would pay towards the cost of the repairs. His reply was less than polite, he point blank said NO!, not a chance and was very rude and arrogant in the process. He just didn’t want to know. Just thought I would warn any prospective buyers to take my experience into consideration before purchasing anything from this garage. A very rude and arrogant dealer indeed, not to mention the terrible after sales service.
