unexpected outcome of buying a used car
After purchasing a car with a warranty from yourselves in your Glasgow branch on 10/08/22 I have had nothing but bother with it and continue to do so. After picking up the car the tyres felt bumpy, I took it into a garage, and they said the tyres were on their last tread. Ended up in Kwik fit after various calls to your customer service team which costed me money as you don’t have a free telephone line. The car ended up off the road as it got fitted with 2 new tyres although 4 were required according to Kwik Fit regulations however you would only pay for 2. A couple of weeks later I was driving along, and the engine management light came on. I took it into Halfords after contacting various Skoda dealers who said the car would need to have a diagnostic check, but they were unable to do this check as they had no availability. Spoke to several customer service agents at Motorpoint again at my expense, advised that the warranty which was just up would not be covering this though they would uplift the car and take it to a Skoda dealer. The car had been checked at Halfords where we were advised that a Skoda diagnostic test would need to be done. They also advised that we would be told it would be the spark plugs that were at fault, but they said this would not solve the problem. After much inconvenience the car was taking to Skoda at Titwood road Glasgow where a service manager said he would arrange when they had an empty spot to check it over. They did this and as advised previously by Halfords it was found to be ‘’spark plugs needed’’ this cost would be £229. The car was in skoda for over a week bearing in mind it was supposed to be in good condition when purchased. It came out of Skoda has ran another week and low and behold the light is back on again. I contacted the AA who told me I should wait until the car conks out before calling them back. Motorpoint I would like to say your aftersales is RUBBISH and I am sorely tempted to return the car and leave the car in your forecourt. The car was bought in good faith with good money paid.
