Bad brakes and a broken spring
Initially Park Green Car Sales were very helpful, staying open after hours to allow viewing. Was advised that the car was checked over prior to sale, and with a 9 month MOT period remaining, decided to take a gamble. Sales patter very plausible...local car, known through supplying dealership etc. Decided to get it thoroughly checked and serviced by my regular non-franchised mechanic, known to me for years. He found a catalogue of dangerous problems, including a broken front suspension spring, and both rear brake cylinders corroded to the extent that they had become misaligned. The nearside rear wheel bearing was noisy, and there is a yet to be sorted noise from the nearside front caliper. Overall, no impressed with my "cheap" runaround, which was not so cheap after all. So far it owes me over £300 in remedials. Give them a wide berth, and buy from someone offering a warranty.
