wish i had read reviews 1st
I so wish I had read reviews on RB Cars before parting with my hard-earned cash. We travelled from Weston super mare to this garage to look at the car and when all seemed well, we done the deal. On chatting to the salesman, we enquired about the cam belt due to the mileage of the car. The salesman claimed to go and make a call to his mechanic to find out if it was a belt or chain driven. On his return he advised that vehicle wouldn’t need a cam belt change as it was chain driven. GREAT!! That saved us a few quid….so we thought. We were advised that the vehicle wouldn’t be ready for a week as they would be servicing it before collect. ALL PART OF THE SERVICE! A week later we collected my new car, I was over the moon. (ok this wasn’t brand new, but it was still new to me) along with a 3 month warranty to cover parts etc. However, within a couple of weeks I was driving on the motorway and noticed the car juddering at certain speeds. I took the car to my local garage and as told the Injector seal had gone, and as I had only had the car a few weeks and this sort of issue didn’t happen overnight I decided to email RB Motors with the issue I had. I also contacted the warranty company and yes you have guessed it the warranty doesn’t cover issue like this. So over £100 out of pocket already. I never got a response to my email…. GREAT AFTER SERVICE…NOT! Weeks later chatting to a friend with a ford Kuga and happened to mention the fact that we had saved money as we didn’t need to change the cam belt due to it being chain driven. My friend nearly fell off his chair laughing saying who told you that rubbish. So back to my local garage I went and sure enough the car is belt driven and another £400 out of pocket. Then a few days later, while out driving in a heavy storm I noticed the front dash was all wet. The windscreen was leaking bad. Now yet again this isn’t something that happens overnight. This should have been picked up on while on the forecourt. YES, I know this was an easy fix through my insurance company, but I still had to pay the excess and it still should have been something that should have been sorted before the car was prepped for sale. The straw that has now broken the camels back and to be honest I think I have put up with more than enough to date. this weekend the engine management light came on. By now I’m a regular down my local garage, so off I go. (to date I have only done 2000 miles) I have just been advised that the oil is so old it’s done at least 22,000 miles. And the filters have never been changed. I find this very strange as the salesman told me that I couldn’t have the car for a week because it had to go for a service which included oil and filter change. I am absolutely fuming…. As not only has this garage fed me bullshit, they have made the 3-month warranty void as any issues Id had with the car would have been put down to the oil. They even had the cheek to stamp the service book for works that haven’t even been done. So, another bill coming my way!! Shouldn’t be allowed to trade.
