Utter incompetence - avoid at all cost
Where to start on the utter incompetence of this lot? Sadly we cannot give 0 stars. I have purchased a very expensive Q5 nearly 2 years ago, and only found out 6 weeks ago that Shrewsbury Audi never did the transfer of ownership! I found out the hard way after having the vehicle clamped at a retail park. The chap from the clamping company showed me the evidence that DVLA had no registered keeper for the vehicle since 2019 (so they didn't do it with the previous owner either) and he also explained I was the 7th Audi owner THAT DAY he was clamping, most likely for the same reason. As they never did the transfer, I never received the V11 tax reminder, hence the clamp. And of course after they finally did their job at Audi, DVLA sent me a £473 fine for driving without tax. After driving and never failing to pay my taxes for 20 years, needless to say that I am beyond p**off. After several phone calls and in person meetings with utterly useless staff at Shrewsbury Audi, I have escalated the matter to Audi UK. It has now been 6 weeks since the incident and no resolution in sight. I was not even asking for a silly compensation, but just the money I had to spend because THEY failed to do their basic job. Audi UK seems equally useless at progressing the claim and I have now engaged the Motor Ombudsman. Needless to say that I will return the car at the end of my agreement as this experience is absolutely shocking, particularly when you spend that much money on a vehicle. Moral of the story: avoid at all cost and take your money elsewhere
