Whittlesey Car Sales is a terrible dealership. Very unprofessional approach to dealing with car sales. Their technical knowledge and understanding of issues that can arise with cars makes it incredibly difficult to understand how they have managed to stay afloat. Communication is very poor. From the moment my car developed a problem the day I bought it they tried to bury their head in the sand, dictate to me if I should want to keep the car, attempt to make me wait 28 days for their "investigation" to be carried out, told me that they drove the car at 90mph on public roads to find the fault, then proceeded to imply I was lying when the fault caused a serious safety issue to me on the motorway. Whilst offering me a test drive, they let me drive the car on my own, and after I informed a friend who is knowledgeable on law, he told me they needed trade plates on the vehicle, with copies of legal documentation to allow the test drives. Carrying out the test drives without trade plates is the same as driving a car with no tax or insurance, which I later found out. They told me the car would be recovered the same day, then the next day, then they had a problem with their recovery vehicle but failed to inform me, so I was left waiting for a few days for them to show up. The amount of times I heard "they will definitely be there..." is incredible. I would never recommend this garage to anyone I know, or anyone that is thinking the car is a steal. They price their cars a little under market value hoping to achieve sales as they know they can get rid of the cars which should be sold for scrap. Luckily for me, the prospect of facing incredibly serious legal implications through various agencies made the refund happen on the spot with fear in the eyes of the traders.
