🚫 Misrepresented Car, Poor Aftercare —
I purchased a used Jaguar XE from PDC Motor Group in April 2025. The vehicle was advertised as having a full service history and being recently serviced. However, shortly after collection, I discovered that the service history only extended to 2020, and the “service required” light was still on. Additional issues included a weak battery, squeaky brakes, and dashboard warning lights. I raised my concerns promptly within 30 days of purchase and arranged for an independent inspection, which confirmed several faults — including a possible stretched timing chain and an engine management light fault. Despite this, the dealership dismissed my concerns and refused to engage constructively. They also attempted to retain a £200 deposit and sought to charge for mileage even though the issues were reported well within the 30-day period. Thankfully, both my finance provider (Autolend) and broker (Zuto) supported my case. The finance agreement was cancelled, the vehicle returned, and a refund of payments was issued after a formal complaint process. However, PDC Motor Group remained uncooperative throughout and declined to return the deposit, while continuing to deflect responsibility. I strongly recommend others exercise caution when dealing with this dealership. Double-check documentation, verify service records, and be prepared to escalate if anything seems off. My experience was unnecessarily stressful, and I hope sharing it helps others avoid the same.
