Terrible Aftersales
Initially, Tracey and Curtis come across as kind, fair and knowledgable (while they want you to purchase a vehicle) and to this day I cannot fault Curtis, he seemed really genuine and hasn’t caused me any problem. I also cannot deny that they allowed me time to think about the purchase and were quick to answer any questions I had. However, the after sales provided by Archway cars has been abysmal. The moment I left the garage upon collecting the car, I noticed that the air conditioning was not working. I looked at getting this fixed at Kwik Fit but they were unable to solve the problem so Tracey suggested bringing it back to them to sort and she also offered to fix an issue I was having with the brakes squeaking (the vehicle needed new brake pads..) - it did often take quite a few hours if not a day or so to get a response from Tracey which wasn’t ideal, but in fairness at this point she did sort the problem for me. When I was at Kwik Fit the mechanic advised me that my rear tyres were close to being on illegal tread depth and needing replacing - I let Tracey know this as I’d had the car a matter of days and she advised that they passed an MOT so were fine… A few days ago (approx 4 weeks after purchasing the car) I had a repeated tyre pressure warning flash on the car despite there being no evidence of a puncture or signs of the tyre going flat. I put more air in and continued to monitor. On Monday I then had a tyre blow out on the motorway (luckily was near the hard shoulder) and had to seek a replacement tyre. I contacted a local garage who ordered me the tyre, however upon fitting it found that it was impossible to get this size tyre onto the wheel which left us both confused as all 3 of the other tyres were this size. Upon contacting Audi, and checking the tyre recommendation sticker, I discovered that all of the tyres were actually the incorrect size for the vehicle and thus both not legal and dangerous. The additional pressure on the tyre as it was so over stretched was what had caused the blowout on the motorway. I contacted Tracey about this and she was neither apologetic (claiming it was the fault of the mechanic that couldn’t fit the wrong size tyre) nor took responsibility for the danger I had been put in and the fact I’d had to replace all 4 tyres in order to make the vehicle safe, insurable and legal (coming up with excuse after excuse re: warranties, sending the tyres for inspection, unprofessional invoices). I requested that she split the cost of the tyres with me (despite it not being my fault that they were wrong) and she was rude, argumentative and refused to do this. She offered to purchase the vehicle back at a lower cost that what I’d paid for it (meaning I’d lose even more money) but refused to help with the cost of the tyres. I’d STRONGLY recommend avoiding this garage and ignore the reviews of people that have fallen for Tracey’s “charm”.
