It's not worthy of a rating. **Avoid this garage at all costs** Don't waste your hard earned money. Douglas Paul Garage (DP) are the worst company we have ever dealt with. My father in law bought a Ssangyong Rexton from these crooks/Fraudsters/ thrives in February. 4 days later all the lights, bells and whistles were going off. Phoned DP and their attitude was "Well, you've got warranty haven't you." Took it to 3 separate independent garages who all said that with all the issues coming up on the diagnostic there's no way these issues weren't presented when he bought the car. Eventually a Ssangyong franchised garage done the warranty work. Car was sound for a couple of weeks. Low and behold it happened again but worse this time. See the photo for a list of issues that was emailed to DP. DP said we had to return the car to Rotherham. As we're in South Wales my father in law asked for a courtesy car which was promised at first. When he then spoke to Jonathan the manager who is a rude piece of crap, (putting it mildly) about the courtesy car, He told my father in law "No courtesy car, we're not a hire company." We dropped the car off on the 11/05/25 and after 13 weeks and 1 day, countless emails and phone calls, 2 rejection letters and the threat of court and no communication in return from Douglas Paul, not even a courtesy call. I will amend the post later to add more photos of all the emails, letters and phone records. We taken advice from a solicitor, citizens advice, and reported this company to Trading standards and BBC watchdog. My father in law phoned them Tuesday 29/07/25 and they said they tried to call a fortnight ago to say the car was ready but there was no answer. So they didn't bother to leave a message, didn't bother to try again, or even send an email. Jonathan is a lying sack of shit. Needless to say there was no missed call. During the phone call Jonathan denied all knowledge of receiving the rejection letters even though we have evidence that they were signed for via royal mail, he denied that when my father in law spoke to him about having his money back after he'd rejected the car (Consumer rights act, section 20 & 21) Jonathan said he had to speak to his boss and would get back to him, but never did. From start to finish this whole ordeal has been a nightmare. Taking advantage of an OAP's, praying on their vulnerability, exploiting them for their hard earned money. Just shy of £22k my father in law paid for this heap of crap. My father in law feels that he has no other choice but to collect the car today, 27 hrs of travelling in total between test drive, returning home, and two trips to deliver it back and collect today. Not so much as an apology for time lost and the inconvenience of having to travel up and back in two vehicles, where they should have collected the car and dropped it back off, not even an offer of a full tank of diesel as a courtesy for being without the vehicle for so long. Just look at some of the other reviews, I wish my father in law had before buying from this crook. Avoid at all cost.
