The worst I’ve ever been treated

I purchased a car from Arnold Clark last year, and not long after, it began developing serious issues. Every time the car got wet, it went into limp mode. I took it back to Arnold Clark, but they claimed they couldn’t find anything wrong. The very next day, the same fault happened again, which made it hard to believe they had properly checked it. I returned the car once more and was given a courtesy vehicle for three weeks, only to be told again that no fault could be found, even Volkswagen supposedly couldn’t identify the issue. I couldn’t understand why they kept the car for so long if no progress was made. Despite the clear problems, Arnold Clark refused to issue a refund, insisting I wasn’t entitled to one. A year later, my car is still experiencing the same issues. I escalated the matter to head office but received no support there either. The whole experience has been extremely distressing, I lost several thousand pounds and was treated appallingly throughout. The manager at Oldbury in particular was dismissive, showed no care or empathy, and even when I was visibly upset, he refused to help. This ordeal has left me feeling cheated and traumatised. I’ve now accepted my losses and am moving on by purchasing a different car, as I simply cannot keep fighting this battle. However, I will make sure to warn others about Arnold Clark and my awful experience so they don’t have to go through what I did.
