Very disappointing
This is the second vehicle we’ve purchased from Torbay Commercials. The first one was perfect — no massive issues at all, only small ones which were fixed without hesitation — which makes our current experience even more disappointing. We first reported faults with our latest vehicle back in March & April, while it was still under warranty, but Torbay Commercials have failed to put things right. Despite raising the issues multiple times, they have not honoured the warranty or complied with their obligations under the Consumer Rights Act. Jay has been dismissive, lied about other garages diagnosing the vehicle which was proven with telematics, and has made every attempt to avoid his obligations under the consumer rights act. The same issues that was reported during the warranty period remains unresolved, and now that the warranty has expired, they are refusing to take responsibility. This is unacceptable, as the faults was clearly raised while the warranty was valid. To make matters worse, we discovered that their mechanic — who was meant to be diagnosing and repairing the vehicle — lost his driving licence due to drink driving, making it impossible for him to properly road test or assess the fault. This has completely undermined our confidence in their professionalism and ability to deliver reliable service. We feel seriously let down after being loyal customers and purchasing two vehicles from them. Based on this experience, we cannot recommend Torbay Commercials and would advise anyone considering buying from them to be cautious and fully understand your consumer rights before committing. We will be taking this matter further, if we still have no success in getting this matter resolved. Never did we want to have to be publicly shaming this business, but we are now almost 5 months into this matter
