Misleading sale of a car
Visited the car ( a Kia Picanto) and wanted to purchase. The £300 deposit was paid 27th October and was due to be collected 4th October 2025. On 3rd October 2025 I rang them to confirm the collection but they then informed me that they didn't have the correct log book details so I couldn't pick up the car. They didn't contact me earlier or make me aware of this. They contacted the DVLA who have not yet responded therefore I am unable to tax the car so I am unable to to drive it. It has now been a month and I have not heard from them. Therefore they sold me a car that I was not able to drive, thus in breach of contract and misleading the buyer. I rang up to request my deposit back. They were incredibly rude and condescending and have refused to give me the money back until they receive the log book from me. the Log book is not proof of purchase and it doesn't mean the cant re-sell the car. I believe they are in breech of contract and shouldn't have sold the car without the correct legal information.
