Dishonest MOT – Avoid This Dealer
Took my XC90 for its first MOT at Brindley Volvo Wolverhampton and was told it failed due to an “exposed cord tyre,” a split CV boot, and an AdBlue leak. They then quoted £1,000+ for the CV boot, claiming the entire driveshaft had to be replaced. I took the car straight to an independent tyre specialist—all four tyres were totally fine. No cords, no gouges, nothing. Another Volvo dealer also confirmed the CV boot can be replaced on its own. When I challenged Brindley, I was basically told “the tester’s word is final,” and then, unbelievably: “You can complain, but Volvo won’t be here to action it anyway—we’re closing down.” False faults, inflated repair costs, broken “evidence” video link, and rude, dismissive staff. Blatant dishonesty. Avoid this place at all costs.
