DO NOT BUY FROM MARLING

Bought a mini paceman JCW from marling which they sold to me with no catalytic converter, they didn’t make me aware. When I got it mot after driving it for almost a year with invalid insurance unknowingly I had to fork out almost £2000 to put a catalytic converter in the vehicle. They claim they didn’t know about it and that they outsource their work. I wouldn’t touch this garage as they clearly do not check that the vehicles are even road legal before selling them, took me 3 months of back and fourth to get them to take the car back and refund my money, they didn’t refund the full amount and I didn’t get the money back that I paid for the repair. Overall, awful experience with a garage with clearly incompetent mechanics that can’t tell a car isn’t road legal, either that or they knew full well what they were doing! If I had of had an accident my insurance would have been invalid because of the missing cat which would have caused a whole load of issues! The car is now back up for sale at double the price they told me it’s now worth, with probably further damage to the engine as it had no cat for a year! I feel sorry for the next person that buys the car..
