Warning. Honest review of this dishonest
A warning to anyone buying from Meadowhall motors. Darren is a dishonest owner that does not comply with uk law. He failed to fix my cars coolant leak and charged me for picking up the car. He commit fraud claiming a 3rd party was picking up my car and charging £80. This quickly jumped to £120 when I requested a receipt. The guy turned up in causal clothes and unmarked small truck. It was like americas dumbest criminals when I asked him to write down his business details and he wrote down a postcode that matched Meadowhall motors but with a random road that didn’t match. When I picked up the car an hr earlier than agreed I saw this guy in his garage and he ducked down behind the other cars. You could make this up. Anyway Darren’s fix was to fill the coolant with water and blame me saying I had no idea how to screw the cap on and that’s what made it leak 1 litre every few miles driven. Bear in mind i service my own cars and have done for years. After it happened again and a burning smell of oil was noticed by another garage I had to contact consumer rights and follow their instructions to reject the car. A diagnostic reported coolant issue that required further investigation and a failing turbo. Darren ignored 2 recorded delivery letters and emails. Once again Darren resorted to childish actions saying the person that signed for the letter sent to his address did not work there. Anyway the credit card also attempted to contact him and was also ignored. They have now paid me out. I have of course lost out on money but was able to buy another car from a reputable seller. I would advise anyone to only buy a car using part payment via a credit card. If you do not have any protection in place and you have to use court action then I wish you luck. Darren let’s the car industry down as there are honest places out there but eventually regulation will make is hard even for the honest seller.
