From repeat customer to “never again”

This dealership is a perfect example of how customer experience can completely deteriorate over time. I am not a first-time customer. I have given this dealer business in the past, but based on this experience, I will never return again. The mentality here has clearly changed — it is now purely money-driven with zero regard for customers or basic professionalism. Before visiting, I had two phone calls with two different salespeople and discussed a £300 reduction on a car priced around £22,000. Based on that, I drove nearly 2 hours with my family, trusting what was discussed. What I found on arrival: Battery SOH below normal for the age and mileage (EV buyers beware) 4 visible dents Multiple paint chips across the bonnet, with paint completely missing in places Despite these clear and objective issues, when I asked about the price, I was told a second salesman had to approve it. We were then made to wait almost an hour for him to turn up. When he finally arrived, his response was blunt and dismissive: no reduction — not even £1. No apology. No acknowledgement of the condition. No respect for the time and effort we had spent getting there. This was not negotiation — it was a complete waste of half a day. The whole process felt like get the customer through the door and then shut down any discussion, regardless of the car’s condition or what was previously agreed. There are far better dealerships who understand that long-term trust matters more than squeezing every last pound out of a single sale. For me, this is 100% the last time I will deal with them.
