Serious Concerns With a 3,000 Mile Car

We purchased a vehicle from Evans Halshaw with approximately 3,000 miles on it, expecting near-new reliability and peace of mind. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle had to be returned to their body shop due to the front end sitting unevenly. We were not provided with a clear explanation as to what caused this, which was concerning given the vehicle’s low mileage and condition at sale. Within two months of ownership, we began experiencing noticeable steering vibration and side-to-side movement under braking. The issue was later diagnosed during a service at another Hyundai dealership, where warped brake discs were identified and replaced at just 10,000 miles. During inspection, the second dealership raised concerns about the condition of components on the same side of the vehicle, which added to our worries about its prior condition. Given that the car had only covered around 7,000 miles in our ownership, we were surprised to encounter such issues so early on a near-new vehicle. When we raised our concerns, we were advised that brake pitting can occur due to environmental exposure such as moisture and road salt. No contribution towards the repair costs was offered. We are disappointed by the lack of clarity surrounding the earlier body shop work and the aftersales support provided. Based on our experience, we would strongly encourage prospective buyers to ask detailed questions and think carefully before purchasing from this dealership.
