Bad experience

I had a very disappointing experience. The car was advertised as being in “excellent condition inside and out”. I voluntarily paid a £500 deposit on Sunday evening at 17:35 and arranged to view the vehicle the following morning. I was initially offered either 8:30 or 11:30, and the seller chose 11:30. When I arrived, the vehicle was extremely dirty inside and not in the condition described. The climate control did not appear to work correctly and the lane assist was not functioning as expected. Because this was a £32,000 purchase, I decided not to proceed in those circumstances. No invoice or receipt was provided for the £500 deposit and no terms and conditions were given before payment. The viewing location was not a normal dealership forecourt, but an isolated yard / farm-style industrial area, which further reduced my confidence. Based on my experience, I would advise others to be very careful, inspect the vehicle thoroughly before paying any deposit and ensure all terms are confirmed in writing.
