Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience with FM Motor Co. I paid a £500 deposit to reserve a Mercedes Sprinter and arranged a professional independent inspection at my own expense (£212.99), plus travel and time off work. The inspection revealed multiple concerns including suspension wear, electrical fault codes, glow plug issues, uneven tyre wear and poor servicing history. While we were waiting for clarification regarding these issues, I noticed the vehicle appeared back on the market again, then later removed, and during the same period the vehicle also showed as taxed with a newly issued V5C date. Despite this, I was later told the vehicle had suffered a “catastrophic failure” and the sale could no longer proceed. To be fair, the £500 deposit was refunded after formal legal communication, but the dealership refused to reimburse the inspection costs caused by the failed transaction. Buyers should be extremely careful, get everything in writing, and ALWAYS pay for an independent inspection before committing to purchase.
