Bought a car 3 months ago from A1 Carriages. Was going for a Ford Focus and came away with a Vauxhall Mocha. Thanks to the great salesmanship corny as it sounds I bought the car of my dreams.

I bought a Ford Focus in view of it being a more safe and reliable vehicle for my newborn baby. Bought from A1 Carriages Ltd in feb 2018, by March I had been to a tyre garage 4 times to get the TPMS looked at. All valves leaking and 2 tyres required, £200. I’ve just had a service and it turns out the air con compressor is broken and has been like that for a long time, which is why I haven’t had the use of air con through this weather. £800 to fix. Stayed on the website and advert for the car was that air con was in use and everything was perfect, smarmy sales dealer just wanted to get a sale. Do not use, if you do make sure you check every little detail.

First class service. Made buying a car much less stressful. Approachable sales staff, test drive organised on the spot. No sales pressure. Needless to say, bought the car, Delighted, highly recommended.

Emailed dealer in first instance on a Wednesday & received auto reply. Waited two days for follow up and then phoned dealer to arrange a test drive on Saturday am. Have bought from A1 before & know their stock is difficult to get at without prior notice. Arrived at appointed time to find car I wanted fairly well blocked in. Asked the salesman about my booking, he knew nothing about it, but said he could get the car out if I was willing to pay a deposit "as it was a Saturday & it was a lot of effort to access the car if I didn't want to buy it". How am I supposed to know if I want to buy it without a test drive??? Catch 22! i found the salesman to be rude & dismissive, probably due to their inability to communicate internally. A simple "Sorry, there's been a mix up & I don't have your booking" would have bought this to a much better conclusion than actually happened. With an attitude like that, I am surprised they sell any cars!

Top dealer no pressure to buy would highly recommend A1 Carriages.
My second ex Motability car, the first from A1 Carriages. Has large stock of Motability vehicles often with very low mileage. Persuaded to take 4 year warranty which helped to increase part exchange offer. Excellent helpful service from sales director Neil.

Bought a MK III ford focus last year. Was given to me without boot lid which i only noticed after I drove it home. They did provide boot lid later. I had taken the warranty cover which requires you to have the car serviced at A1 annual. Front passenger foot well was wet after 1 year but A1 said this was not covered by warranty and would take at least 5 hours work at £65 per hr just to investigate. Thus not pleased.

Bought a car for £4000 and picked it up from A1 Carriages Friday afternoon supposedly with a full service and a years mot. On Sunday morning an engine warning light came on so I rung them on Monday, and to be fair they told me to bring it in on the Wednesday but on the way there the light went out and they couldn't find anything. On the Saturday car broke down and I called the rac who found the egr valve to be knackered. Phoned A1 and once again they didn't argue, arranged to have it in and replaced valve, so far 10/10. Have had car back for 2 weeks now and it coughs, stalls and bunny hops when I first start it. A1 now want to charge me hundreds of pounds to find out what's wrong with a car they sold me less than a month ago! I paid an extra £500 for a warranty but apparently it does not cover this. Empty bank account and broken car, cheers guys.

When we brought the car from A1 Carriages and we were not told is was a cat D. Also, after a month an amber engine warning light came on. We took it to them and were told we needed a new cylinder and engine. We were without a car for 2 weeks. Luckily it was covered by warrenty but we still had to pay maintenance fees. When we picked up the car we were told we still had a cracked cylinder but a 'new' engine with the exact same miles the car had already done. A year later the engine nearly blew up and would badly missfire and shake when in first and second gear. Took it to a different garage and turns out they never replaced the engine only turned the engine light off... worst company ever would never go back to them.
I definitely would NOT recommend A1 Carriages LTD. At the start things weren't to bad obviously because they wanted to sell it me and get it of their hands. Once I bought it and took it home I then found out many issues it had, the dealership were then blaming me for causing the issues even though it wasn't. Their after care was terrible and attitude was disgraceful.
