I left a deposit on a car that had just come in to A5 Motor Group. It needed body work. They were going to get it all done ASAP and it took over 3 weeks. When I went to collect the car some of the work had not been done and the car was making a terrible noise. They told me not to worry about it and it would be sorted out. I told them I would not take the car and wanted my deposit back and they told me no problem they would transfer the money. Guess what no money. Must have called 6 times but no luck.

Same story as everyone else - bought a car, turned out to be a dud - A5 Motor group refuse to refund then block my calls. They didn't send off documentation to DVLA. I'm not sure they're even there any more - avoid at all costs - they are crooks and I hope trading standards catch up with them.

Do NOT waste your time on A5 Motor Group. They sold me a car that was not roadworthy and then they would not answer my calls to discuss it. They blantantly lied to my face about the car I px'd to them by saying they had scrapped it when I said I wanted to swap cars back and then it is still for sale on Autotrader. 6 weeks on and I have not received any paper work from the DVLA and when I went to them (as they do not answer your calls once a sale has been made - says it all really) they lied again and said that they had done the paperwork and the V5 logbook should come straight to me. Still waiting and now I'm trying to sell the car as spares and repairs as its no good for anything else, I've got to fork out from my pocket to get the V5 done so I can sell it. Cannot believe these are still operating and I only wish that I'd read the reviews before hand. Absolutely fuming and well out of pocket as a result.

Go elsewhere!! Avoid! My experience was as soon as the A5 Motor Group take your money and your part ex they will do everything to avoid any problems they have just sold on to you. Left me with a Suspicious MOT and expensive repairs let alone selling me a car thats unroadworthy and dangerous! I've further complained to dvsa/vosa trading standards and BBC watchdog! Save your money and buy from a reputable garage AVOID

His name is Matthew Edward twigg his mobile number is 07398857958. I've been calling since April leaving voicemail messages everyday. One day some woman answered said she took his phone off him and they'd get back in touch. Never heard from then since and this car has cost me a fortune to repair since they robbed me!

I bought an Audi A3 from A5 Motor Group only to find that the vehicle had the following faults: missing spare key, sensor fault, start/stop system fault, air conditioning fault & reverse sensors fault. First of all the vehicle was filthy, there was no fuel in the car and I had to ask for them to clean the vehicle before leaving. When I got home I realised that one of the tyres were not fit for use. I had to get this replaced which cost me an additional £110. I then found that the arm rest was broken, the driver side of the door and the boot does not shut properly and there was a missing gas cap under my bonnet. Then several weeks later a sensor sign appeared causing the start/stop sensor, reverse sensor and air conditioning to stop working. I had taken the vehicle to several local garages as advised from A5 Motor Group Ltd, as their dealership were 3 hours away from where I live. But no one could seem to find where the fault was. This had gone on for a couple of months whilst having to drive my car in the scorching heat with no air conditioning. I work full time and it is not easy having to take time off to find somewhere to get my car repaired. I was left with no choice but to then take my car to Audi to get it repaired. They were also shocked that someone sold a vehicle to me with the amount of electrical faults that appeared on their system. I had contacted the dealers on several occasions about this and have asked for us to come to a mutual agreement on how we can get the car repaired, however I have been met with no response so I had no choice but to pay for the repairs out of my own pocket. In regards to my spare key, I have still not received this and in view that this was not posted at all! When contacting the dealer with numerous phone calls and texts I then had to contact the office, I was told the dealer who sold my car to me no longer works for the company on the week of 10 May 2018, but this was not my concern, A5 Motor Group Ltd still remains fully liable for selling me a faulty vehicle, and in fact the dealer who sold the vehicle to me does still work for the company till this date. I was then advised that they cannot find the key with no replacement offered. As you can imagine my spare key which they have lost is concerning, they have all my personal details from the point of sale- what's to say that my vehicle won't be stolen off my drive? I continuously contacted A5 Motor Groups Ltd about my spare key and I was then abruptly hang up on on 3 different occasions. They would then no longer answer my calls unless I called using different numbers. They also failed to provide me with the warranty document & I paid £1000 to get my vehicle repaired. I have reported the dealers to trading standard. Stay away from these frauds!

I bought a car from A5 Motor Group last year. Helpful and friendly enough, if a bit terse, and the car was a good price. The problem is, they never returned my calls afterwards and never sorted anything. (Hence the bad review.) Said they would sort out the DVLA stuff but, it later transpired, they hadn't sent anything off. And, failed to rectify a broken electric window - In the end I got bored of calling them so sorted it myself. As I said, they were friendly enough, but were full of promises and zero action. However, there are some really good dealerships out there who will go the extra mile for you. And are friendly and helpful too. So why bother with these guys? I wouldn't again. Not to say they are awful people - that was not my experience. They were just full of empty promises and, frustratingly, never returned calls.

My partner and I bought a car from A5 Motor Group about 6 months ago. They failed to complete the v5 new owner process, so we had to sort this out of our own pocket but we didn't complain. Fast forward 6 months and the car has now been virtually written off due to several engine issues. That's £3000 in the bin!

"Avoid!! Worst "car dealer" we have ever "

It's difficult to know where to start without writing for days about how appalling A5 Motor Group are. My Wife and I wanted to buy a Range Rover Sport as we have 2 small children and thought this an ideal, safe family car. We scoured AutoTrader for a couple of weeks and unfortunately found A5 Motor Group. We went to view the vehicle we were interested in and it was not as described. It is obvious now that they use filters on the images they take, as the cars look far better online than in person. Any way, at this stage we looked around the car, took it for a drive and found a number of things wrong with it but it was an 8 year old car with reasonably high mileage and the owner of the business (Matt) could not have been more helpful. He agreed to get everything done for us, so (with some trepidation) we left a £1000 cash deposit. We were told the work would take around 2 weeks. This is as good as it got. From this point on customer service was completely absent. We chased and chased only to be given excuses each time as to why the car wasn't ready. If we managed to speak to Matt, we were told he needed to speak to Charlie, if we managed to speak to Charlie we were told he needed to speak to Matt. We were made promises that weren't followed through on and the final straw was the cars service history. When we viewed the car I asked about the full service history and we were told that they didn't have a stamped service book as they were waiting for this to come from the supplying dealer. Instead we were shown a print out of the supposed service history of the car, which I pointed out was missing a couple of services. I guess at this point we should've walked away but you kinda get suckered in. I made it very clear, however, that we would not conclude the sale without the fully stamped service book. Once the car was apparently ready (it was supposed to have 12 months MOT but I checked online and this had not been done) I asked again about the service book. We were told it had not been found, so they had ordered a replacement. After another week the replacement service book arrived and we were supplied with images of each page. At this stage it was obvious to me that they had filled this in themselves, as it was in Matt's hand writing with his signature and no dealer stamps, so basically no proof of any servicing. We were told that the supplying dealer had filled it in and sent it to them. We asked who that was and were told by Matt that he needed to ask Charlie. In a later conversation with Charlie we were told he needed to ask Matt. I then spoke to Land Rover customer service to see what information they had on the car. As it was before 2013 they told me there were no digital records, so the only way to prove service history was to speak to each dealer who serviced the car. I was also informed that anyone can buy a blank replacement service book and fill it in themselves but they (Land Rover) and their dealers would not fill out such a document. So, another lie and for us this was the final straw. It then took us over a week of messages and calls before our deposit was refunded. At one point my Wife and I were taking it in turns to speak to Charlie and Matt as they were constantly calling and being abusive on the phone. At one point Charlie even called my Wife a c**t. Completely unacceptable. There's so much more we could write about our dealings with A5 Motor Group but if you're still reading, then like me you must be getting bored by now as it's all too similar to other bad reviews. Speaking of which, I would take the content of any 5 star reviews with a punch of salt, as most of them are written by themselves. If you need proof look back to June on their AutoTrader reviews, at which point they'd had numerous bad reviews, only to see that on 12th June they have 9 x 5 star reviews to boost their score, pathetic A5 Motor Group.
