Recently purchased a Vauxhall Astra, car was all ready for collection when they said it would be, was a pleasant buying experience and the car has been great. Would recommend A5 Motor Group to family & friends.

Brought a Range-rover from A5 Motor Group last week, left a deposit over the phone (which I don’t normally do) the guys picked me up from the train station. When we got to the dealership car was all ready to go and as described. Nice easy transaction and helpful people.

This review sounds a bit like the fake reviews they write on Autotrader in order to keep their score up!
If you are for a moment considering buying the Grey Discovery 3 (EJ56 XLG) advertised on A5 Motor Group (or any car for that matter), I’d suggest reading on... My wife and I were looking for a 2nd car and came upon A5 Motor Group purely by chance - the vehicle appeared what we were looking for aside from a few jobs that were needed and was pretty clean both inside & out. We were informed it had a good service history and had recently a new engine fitted – the documentation however was at another garage. There were a few things that needed doing to warrant the price they were asking but they were happy to undertake these if I bought the car. Wind forward 2 weeks (Yes, 2 weeks!) we were told the car was finally ready too collect so drove all the way from Herefordshire to Nuneaton only to find the car was not even at the garage. The chap who helped us originally blamed his colleague but promised the car would be delivered Tuesday with everything completed and with a full tank of fuel by way of compensation for the wasted trip. Tuesday the car turned up – however it was clear things were far from as agreed – The car was filthy inside and out (it had after all been left at a Land Rover breakers yard for 2 weeks). The fuel tank was empty, and a number of jobs had not been completed. There was no service documentation past April 2011, and for a vehicle that had taken more than 2 weeks to be prepared it had been delivered in a poor and unacceptable condition. I also found the car had an issue with the brakes where when you put your foot on the pedal you could hear a gurgling fluid like noise behind the dash so took the decision to send the car back. At this point I spoke to my Solicitor who advised me to reject the car under Section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 - the car was not as described, fit for purpose, or of satisfactory quality and there was a clear breach of contract. It’s worth noting the following sections of the act apply in this case:- Section 20.7(a) - From the time when the right to reject is exercised the trader has a duty to give the consumer a refund. Section 20.(10) To the extent that the consumer paid money under the contract, the consumer is entitled to receive back the same amount of money. Section 20 (16) If the consumer paid money under the contract, the trader must give the refund using the same means of payment as the consumer used, unless the consumer expressly agrees otherwise. A5 Motor Group owed me a full refund, however they were already talking about charging me for the work they had rather than accepting responsibility for the work they had not done on the car, however the law is very clear. Regardless if a car trader had any work done or not, such work was a condition only if everything else about the car was right (which it clearly wasn't) – A5 Motor Group owed me in full what I had paid for the car. To date they have only refunded £7000 (this only after threatening to report them - as directed by my Solicitor - to Trading Standards, report them to the Police for theft (they had taken the car back and I had nothing for my money), Issue a petition to wind up the company and take them to the County Court/send in bailiffs to execute the inevitable judgement in my favour and report them to the DTI as a person unfit to be a Director of a company. Fortunately (for me), I did not accept the refund as ‘full and final settlement’ of the debt (worth noting they have to use those words specifically if they want you to accept a partial refund) so I have handed the matter over to my Credit Card Company to pursue them under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act for the remaining £400 So what have I learnt from this experience? Always pay for part of the car using your credit card to ensure you have Section 75 cover and consult a Solicitor if responding to something that might either drag on or later end up in court. Don’t accept poor service or broken promises – if it amounts to breach of contract you have grounds to get your money back, and money it seems is the only thing dealers like this are interested in. Be sure to check everything that is claimed about a car is true and can be proven (preferably there and then) - in the case of EJ56 XLG, the mileage was initially advertised as 125,000 miles whereas it was actually 139,000 miles. There were/are other inaccuracies too, all of which have been reported to Trading Standards and Auto Trader (with copies of the advert I took at the time). Ensure you read other customer reviews - don’t just look at the overall score out of 5 or take my word for what I’ve written here – you’ll see a number of similar complaints from other customers about A5 Motor Group. A5 Motor Group had the opportunity to take responsibility for the poor level of service they provided – they could (and still can if they feel the need to put this right) refund the balance of what I’m owed, and apologise for falling short of what their website claims in terms of doing everything possible to get valued customers on the road in their perfect vehicle. I feel far from valued. I’m sure they will try and defend some of what I have said as is their right to respond (just as they have for other complaints), however I’m not the first person to have complained, and doubt I will be the last, and strongly suspect it will not be in any shape or form acceptance of their poor service.

Update to my review above. After some debate, A5 Motor Group agreed to refund me in full accepting that they fell short of their usual standards on this occasion. It is only right I let people know that they have acted correctly in providing a full refund and any actions that were being taken have now been averted.
Wanted to leave no stars for A5 Motor Group!! After 12 weeks still no v5 no record of service history. Don't know how they are still in business. Don't buy a car from them, Visited them several times rang umpteen times, just diabolical.

Susie - have you seen this?! https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/reckless-car-dealer-warned-someone-15313412 Says everything you need to know really about the people at A5 Motor Group Limited
Not only was the car miss sold by A5 Motor Group by not having and Mot when the advert clearly stated it had one, i have now found out that the car has a bad oil leak blocked by shoving rags in it! The car failed the mot and has been in and out of the garage. Me, my unborn child and 7 year old child have been stranded on more than one occasion because of several issues and guess what i dont get a response to my correspondence.

Avoid buying a car from A5 Motor Group. I arranged to purchase a Landrovery Discovery from A5Motor Group. Paid for it, arranged delivery, car never arrived. Promised delivery three days on the trot, still no car! After more phone calls, messages and emails 'Charlie' apologised for the 'inconvenience and said he was going to return my money. It took him eleven days to do so and only under the threat of sending in the debt collectors did he do so! Car was sold to me with 12 months MOT. On checking the day my car should have been delivered it had been taken in for an MOT and failed miserably with more faults and rot than I have time to list. Looks like I had a very lucky escape. Do not trust these people!!!!!

I could write an essay on the terrible level of service, comprising of false promises and fabricate facts, but I have good reasons not to detail them now. Suffice to say you should avoid the A5 Motor Group like you would the plague.
These people give the impression of being up front and decent. But they failed to provide an MoT certificate, failed to complete the V5 new-owner process and were conveniently 'away from the site' when appointments had been made. Could not recommend the A5 Motor Group -- unless you're looking for the cast of a TV show about archetypal dodgy dealers. Not saying they are. But they might fit the bill.
Brought my car from A5, great experience, everything was top notch and done quickly and smoothly. Thanks guys.
My son bought car couldn’t tax it no log book garage made loads of promises to sort it out so much wrong after endless phone calls they had a go at me to stop calling. Do not buy a car from these men I have contacted trading standards
