My mother died in April of this year 2021. I was left a small amount of money .I put the money to one side for a rainy day . That day came when my car packed up .so I decided buy a decent car and I would have something to remind me of my mother.so I searched the Internet and found ATG MOTORS based at Hinstock market Drayton. I saw a 4x4 hyundai tuscon 2009 the price was 2495 I went to view and saw the man was trading from a farm. I was told it would come with 3 months warranty I liked the car so I purchased it . On the 5th July I was driving along the a442 and the car started to hold back and was losing power. It was bellowing loads of smoke and I couldn't see the drivers behind me .I pulled over and got a taxi home . I phoned Mr adrian Slater and explained what had happened I found his manner very aggressive and was making me feel that it was my fault . He said that he didn't recover vehicles. And I needed to bring it up on Wednesday 7 th July. I had to get a friend take me back to the car and park it on the grass verge so it was off the road and safe from other traffic. So the next morning the 6th July I moved the car off the road .the car wouldn't start again . I then telephoned Mr Slater and said I'd got a recovery truck on its way .I didn't like the idea of leaving it where it was . He telephoned me on the 7th to say that I needed to go to specsavers that there was no fuel in it I told him that I had put 10 of fuel in it earlier and that it doesn't register much on gauge because it was a big tank . He went on to say in a aggressive manner that I had FUCKED UP the turbo and mentioned other things that the sump needed to come off and that I would have to pay for the repair. I told him that I had done nothing wrong and that I had only had the car 4 weeks .and it was still under warranty. He went on to say that did I check it for oil and water. I said I didn't need to do this yet has the car had only just been brought and that I took it that he would of done that prior to the sale . The whole affair has stressed me out . I then told him that I was taking him to court he refused to give me a refund .I also said I would go to trading standards. I have since looked at atg motors and found that they are a cowboy outfit and found that Mr Slater was prosecuted by the magistrates court by trading standards for selling a right off car and had a 4000 fine I inclose the link https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/2012/06/19/salesman-failed-to-say-car-a-write-off/ I ask the court for my refund of 2495 plus 150 recovery. 6 pond taxi. And 10 petrol. Court fee 115 I had to pay for fuel to take me to car I hope this can be resolved I am very disappointed and distressed by it all r.g palin total 2776
Shane slater from Adrian Slater T/A AGT in response to Avoid this dealer
Hello Thank you for your reply, I can’t see anywhere in your review about 2 days before the car apparently broke down you contacted me to say that you have had a bump in the car and no longer wanted the car, suddenly 2 days later the car broke down ?, when we received the car back there was absolutely no fuel in it, that’s why it broke down, also you are forgetting to mention you have lied on your statement saying you paid £140 for recovery when we have an invoice for £40 of him, your a compulsive Lier and purposely drove the car Until it run out of diesel to try and return it.
I brought a car from this farther and son business they trade from there home address not a proper car dealership here. When I arrived the engine was running and warm, not a good sign we’ll it turns out there was a reason why the engine was warm because the next day after buying it the car failed to start from cold and had to be recovered to a garage, upon a garage report the car had multiple issues, the battery was leaking acid everywhere, the starter motor was faulty, the cambelt was about to snap and not be changed, the wrong size tyres were fitted to the front, the cruise control won’t work and there is multiple wiring issues with the brake lights that had been bodged to name just a few issues, the service history also fake, I phoned the dad Adrian slater who gave me a false name explained the problems and was told he was not willing to do anything about it and wouldn’t take the car back for a refund was shouted at called names and had the phone put down on me. had to start court proceedings as would not get the car repaired neither would they take the car back rejection letter with a report sent and ignored. Adrian slater has been taken to court multiple times and now it’s my turn. Hinstock motor sales are not even registered with companies house even though they say they are a limited company will be repairing that to companies house also.

Back in May I purchased a Fiat 500 lounge from Adrian Slater and up to now I am really happy with it. Really good car and excellent fault for money. The only issue was that the radio wasn't working properly but they sorted it straight away. I would highly recommend this dealership.

I bought a Range Rover from here in April and the service was spot on. The car has had a couple of issues but they have said they will have these done no problem. They are really friendly and willing to help what ever the issue. I would recommend.
