Mercedes c220 sport (60) est. Missing 2nd key, instruction book pack and service book (told they don't come with them anymore) told "will get hold of instruction pack for you" never did, water pump failed on day 2 (told not to take it to Mercedes for repair!), Flywheel issues, Air con not working, Parking brake less than 20% effective, Engine rough running, Poorly painted areas not advised and walk around description very vague. Never reply to emails when asked for confirmation on what work/service items were carried out. These are not the cars your looking for and I held off leaving a negative review as I was hoping they would redeem themselves a little, however they did not. Still no confirmation of my warranty despite repeat emails to Affordable Cars York asking for it.

Well I have to admit, I am one of those persons who once I have bought a car, hangs on to it, if I am honest one of the main reasons for this is to avoid swarmy, shark like, commission seeking saleman who want my car for nothing whilst doing their best to ensure you pay top price for the car they are selling. So when I decided to change my Qashqai for something a little more suitable for my two elderly labradors, I looked about and decided on a BMW estate, I looked about and saw a car at Affordable Cars in York. I initially made contact with Gavin Alderson (no relation) via email, following this I travelled to the showroom. I was greeted by Gavin, who was very friendly, very helpful and most importantly incredibly genuine, open, honest and fair. I was very happy with the deal and am delighted with my BMW 320D m Sport Tourer. Great service with a free years AA membership, warranty (and even a nice bottle of Merlot....thanks Gavin) I have no hesitation at all in recommending this company and if only all Car Salesman were like Gavin we would all perhaps change our cars more often.

Initial contact made with Andrew, who was great. He went away, got me all the info and came back to me when he said. Left me to give it some thought. A couple of days later, he rang to let me know the car had been reduced slightly in price. No pressure, just to let me know. Went to see the car a couple of days later, and Joel looked after me very well. Did the deal, arranged collection day. Easy. Collection day. Easy. One small issue. Sorted without issue. Easy. Having travelled nearly 3 hours to a large UK garage dealer we found out that the car we had paid a deposit for needed a new gearbox.. Not ideal after spending 2 hrs at their site and to be let down without any remorse. We then saw a Honda Civic for sale and called for information. Having been reassured we could complete a deal before they closed we drove 2 hrs to the A64 branch where Ryan met us and showed us the car. Very polite, all questions answered and generally a good relaxed service. Having bought 7 cars in the past I can honestly say that this was the BEST service we had ever received. We got a very fair trade in price for our old car and signed on the dotted line as soon as we got back from our test drive. Having a trade in, test drive and new car keys in my hand in around an hour was something that we had never had before. I would have no problem in recommending Ryan and Affordable Cars York to anyone and will certainly be buying from them again. Keep up the good work!

Visited the Tadcaster site on sunday after looking at the car online. We were dealt with by Ryan. Not in a pushy way at all. I normally find buying a car quite stressful but it was so easy and laid back. The deal done, a fair price for part exchange and finance arranged on a Sunday!
