Good salesmen at Affordable Cars York A64 branch but let down by poor after sales having to chase up refund for parts. Not good tbh

For most of my career I have been in the motor trade..working for Honda then Mercedes, where I ran the largest used car operation in the MB network. So I feel that I am qualified to say this is how small independent garages should run! Best priced cars on the net, friendly informative staff, and probably the best mix of prestige cars I have seen in a long time at there A19 dealership. Dean that I dealt with is an approachable, trust worthy sales person, and a pleasure to deal with! I would have no hesitation in recommending Affordable Cars...great choice...great value...great service.

Nothing but posters for Ryan at Affordable Cars Tadcaster branch. We bought a Smart Car for what we think was a really fair price, and there was absolutely no pushy sales techniques, which was a big plus personally. Ryan also stayed behind late so we could test drive and sort out paperwork after the place had closed. Highly recommended.

Mercedes c220 sport (60) est. Missing 2nd key, instruction book pack and service book (told they don't come with them anymore) told "will get hold of instruction pack for you" never did, water pump failed on day 2 (told not to take it to Mercedes for repair!), Flywheel issues, Air con not working, Parking brake less than 20% effective, Engine rough running, Poorly painted areas not advised and walk around description very vague. Never reply to emails when asked for confirmation on what work/service items were carried out. These are not the cars your looking for and I held off leaving a negative review as I was hoping they would redeem themselves a little, however they did not. Still no confirmation of my warranty despite repeat emails to Affordable Cars York asking for it.

Well I have to admit, I am one of those persons who once I have bought a car, hangs on to it, if I am honest one of the main reasons for this is to avoid swarmy, shark like, commission seeking saleman who want my car for nothing whilst doing their best to ensure you pay top price for the car they are selling. So when I decided to change my Qashqai for something a little more suitable for my two elderly labradors, I looked about and decided on a BMW estate, I looked about and saw a car at Affordable Cars in York. I initially made contact with Gavin Alderson (no relation) via email, following this I travelled to the showroom. I was greeted by Gavin, who was very friendly, very helpful and most importantly incredibly genuine, open, honest and fair. I was very happy with the deal and am delighted with my BMW 320D m Sport Tourer. Great service with a free years AA membership, warranty (and even a nice bottle of Merlot....thanks Gavin) I have no hesitation at all in recommending this company and if only all Car Salesman were like Gavin we would all perhaps change our cars more often.
