Car Dealer Reviews is an
official partner of Auto Trader
As it all started with a simple phone call to find out if the car that we saw and liked on autotrader was still available everything went smooth from then onwards - test drive, spoke about finance options, explained how everything works around finance agreements and more important the increase in rates from bank or england ( which I was shocked to see how much Mihai knew about ! ) then proceeding with the application which came back as successful within 35 minutes, signed documents and less than an hour from out arrival at AGB we drove back home and pack for our weekend trip to Cornwall in the car we purchased from AGB.

Bough an X5 from AGB. Had a small issue which they addressed in a really great way. They gave us a 7 seater car whilst they worked on the X5, replaced a number of parts that they were not happy with, communicated really effectively all the time and were just decent honest people. I'm now looking at buying again because of this. I've dealt with many garages over the years, and none of them have ever been as approachable and reasonable as these guys. The car industry should take note. This is the best way to get repeat customers!

Our experience with AGB wasn't great. We purchased a vehicle from them in Oct 2021. Around 2-3 weeks after we started driving it we noticed issues, some little issues, some big. Car had an automated boot lid, this would only open half way then stop, 12v socket in front didn't work, the washer bottle had to be constantly topped up because it leaked - these are the minor issues which we sorted out at our own cost at a local garage. Some of the major issues are it was incredibly sluggish to start from cold and would often cut out initially, having to re-start it several times, it also had some kind of a gearbox fault with the dash screen intermittently reporting that there was an issue and to get it serviced. After lots of back and forth with Mihai at AGB, with him promising a courtesy car, due to us being a 3 hour round trip from him, an offer which he subsequently rescinded citing that the BMW 3 series he promised "Had an oil leak" - Surely you'd just get it fixed!? He agreed to look at and potentially repair the faults with the vehicle. We took it to them, they had it for around 10 days, Mihai was cagey about giving details to what the fault was or providing any written paperwork to show what had been repaired. Eventually I ascertained that it was a glow plug relay, and a number of valves in the auto gear box, along with a few other items. We returned to collect it, completed a test drive which seemed OK, however the vehicle was disgustingly dirty inside, with big muddy foot prints in both foot wells and sweet/drink wrappers left inside, as if they'd be using it to drive around. Surely you'd get someone to clear the vehicle, as a gesture of goodwill, or at least not to leave it in a worse state then when the customer dropped it off. We took the car back home and within 3 days the same issue with the gearbox had recurred, with it going in to a limp mode. I informed Mihai of this, and said that we had lost confidence in the vehicle and no longer wanted it. He told me that he had another opportunity to repair it and that I should bring it back to him. As I couldn't afford to do another 3 hour round trip twice, and coupled with the potential 10 day car hire cost, I informed him that the law says within 6 months he has 1 opportunity to repair it and if the same problem recurs then the customer is entitled to a full refund. I refused any further repairs and told him to either collect the vehicle or I would take further action. On several occasions whilst either speaking to or being at AGB, Mihai told me, when I'd mentioned returns/refunds & the law surrounding it, that within the last few years 5 people had taken him to court and he had won each time - This probably isn't something I'd even boast about if it was my business. The fact that you've had a number of dissatisfied customers, so much so that 5 of them have had to take you to court is a big red flag for me. If you're considering buying from AGB cars, my advice would be to think very carefully, I'm sure some of the vehicles they sell are fine, but for those that aren't the aftercare/customer service is what let them down and for that reason I've given them a 1 star and would avoid in future.

Review for AGB Cars Let's start with the good. The guy we dealt with secondly was very friendly and understanding. That's all that's good about this dealer. Now the bad... Took a week to view the vehicle as the guy on the phone said his wife was driving the vehicle, which turned out to be a lie as there were only 2 miles added on compared to the photos of the speedometer that were online. when we finally got to view the car on our way to the dealer, he phoned us to say can they have more time to get the car ready as it needed work doing to it. finally getting to view the car it was nothing like the photos, the seat was disgusting and marked up badly like it had done 100,000, not 50,000, with what looked like vomit in the rear seat belt. The front bumper was damaged and had huge panel gaps that I could get my fingers through. The rear sensors didn't work, missing a handle for the boot floor. Also, the smell was horrendous like stale smoke and wet dogs. These are just a few of the many things we found wrong with the car (and we're not even mechanics, so goodness knows what else could be wrong). We brought these to the attention of the dealer, he said that if we buy the car he would keep hold of it and repair the long list of issues, and we'd have to have a loan car for the time. We took it for a test drive, there was an awful knocking noise coming from the front wheel. Got back and told the dealer there are too many problems for us, he didn’t seem shocked or anything. So we believe he knew about the issues but was hoping we’d take the car and not notice anything. Our finance company (we half financed and half p/x) had already sent the money to the dealer (against our advice but that's a different story) after we declined the car he said he’d send the money back on the Monday (this all happened Saturday afternoon) week passed and they hadn’t bothered to send the money back. Which we needed to purchase another car. Our finance company had to send this to collections as they were refusing to send the money back. Lucky this has all been sorted and we are now happily driving a much better car with not one issue. So my advice to you is AVOID, AVOID, and also AVOID!!!!!

BY READING ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ON THE CAR DEALER WEBSITE WE WERE A BIT CONCERNED ABOUT BUYING OUR CAR FROM THEM! ALL I CAN SAY NOW ABOUT THEM IS PROFESSIONALISM, TRUST AND QUALITY! I`VE PURCHASED A ML250 FROM THEM, THE CAR HAD 2 SCRATCHES( WHICH THEY FIXED FOR FREE)! I HAVE PAID THE DEPOSIT, THEY DONE THE SERVICE FOR THE GEARBOX AND ENGINE THEN DELIVERED THE CAR TO ME! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! DON'T BE SCARED ABOUT 1 STAR REVIEWS SEEN IN HERE, PROBABLY THER ARE FRUSTRATED POOR PERSONS WHO TRY TO GET A NEW CAR WITH £1000, AND HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY! I WILL BUY MY NEXT CAR FROM THEM DEFINITELY!

Worst customer service, bought a car for 22500£ asking prices with 3 months warranty, drove 1 day and problems started… intercooler, drive shaft, engine mounts. These guys refused to pay bmw prices and made me get copy cheap parts. Then they refused to pay the full amount saying i ruined the car and is my fault and that there’s a limit cap which they never mentioned before. DONT USE THEM THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORSE YOU’LL EVER GET!
