Superb deal and sooooo easy to deal with. What can I say this is the way car deals should be ! I was honest about my trade-in and the guys at AIM Cars were up-front and honest about the car they were selling. Keep it up guys 10/10

We did get our money back from Aim Cars in Newark after 2weeks, and that is the only reason I gave two stars and not one. There is so much to write with how unhappy I was with the after sales but I will keep it simple. On day two of new car we noticed a slight rattle. Luckily my husband is a mechanic, and thought from the sound it was the timing chain. We took it in to Citroen dealership for an investigation. £60. They quoted a major problem with gear box/clutch and timing chain with a £2000 quote to fix. We know Citroen are expensive so we got another quote for nearly a grand less I understand things can go wrong... but. The Warranty was useless and aimcars couldn’t provide a courtesy car and never returned my calls. It took ten days for them to take the car back as they refused to get it fixed local and a further three days for them to look at it. In this time I had no car at all. I resorted to emailing and texting daily. I also decided to call the credit card company we paid with and forward all the quotes and issues with the car so I could claim the money back under the consumers rights act. There was something very iffy about them trying to decide wether these things were wrong with the car or not.... even though we had two quotes! I decided to return the car under the consumer rights act as it was all a bit dodgy and I had no confidence that they would fix the car properly. I got the money back with the £60 quotation fee from Citroen. They even disagreed about the problems quoted, which rarely unnerved us. So, if you have bought a black and white Citroen ds3 in the last two three months, then I would seriously consider getting an assessment on clutch and timing chain. P.s it was on sale again before I had gave them the keys and log book as I hadn’t received them in time, and it was £495 more than what I paid for it! Go figure...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The delay in the collection of your vehicle was due to this having to be arranged through a 3rd party and this date was the next available slot they had. As part of a refund process we have to have the vehicle inspected by a local independent garage, which we know and trust to verify the faults. Once inspected, our mechanic agreed with the faults and we were happy to arrange the repairs for you, however, as the lead time quoted for the repairs was 14 days and we had no courtesy car available you were, understandably, unable to wait this long. At this point we offered you a full refund, plus your £60 diagnostic fee from Citroen. Our mechanic carried out the required repairs and, yes, the car was put back up for sale. Although all of our cars go through a multi point inspection, we cannot always foresee an issue and we will always put any issues right. We apologise any inconvenience that was caused to you, but unfortunately what happened was unforeseen and we tried our best to resolve the issues you had.

i appreciate the response but it was the aftercare that was the real issue here. i was fair in giving two star to acknowledge the refund. Not returning calls, not knowing what was happening, asking me to get quotes when they were irrelevant and not needed is the reason for a negative review. Why ask for two local quotes and say you would consider local then say you wouldnt ? Just to be clear, I returned the car under the consumers rights act, not because you offered a refund and this has all been documented and verified on this site. It could have been sorted very early on if you had returned the calls and i would never have considered leaving a negative review. This is probably the first negative review i have ever had to to do. However i appreciate the acknowledgement that you had delays from third parties, but an acknowledgement of not returning calls etc would have been better received.
Everything was great with Aim Cars till the delivery of the car and few hrs later when I went to tax it it turns out not only is there no log book and despite the car being for sale for 3 weeks on car gurus they had no documents at all.......so i have a new car, looks great but can take up to 6 weeks before i can tax it.

What car was it?

Thank you for taking the time to review. One of our drivers delivered your vehicle to you and unfortunately, due to an oversight on our part, the new keeper slip (V5c/2) was missing from the documents that we had left you, resulting in you being unable to tax the vehicle. We then paid you the fee to apply for a new slip from the DVLA, this process can take up to 4 weeks. We offered you a courtesy car to use for this period which you refused as you would have preferred to source your own and send us the bill, which as a small business we are unable to do. We did also offer you a full refund for your car, which you refused. As we are unable to contact you due to you rejecting our calls we can only assume that you have the correct documents and that you have now taxed the car, Thank you.
Aim Cars promised to buy my car after winning an auction on eBay. James Blant promised to pay promptly and collect. All seemed good and he was pleasant and plausible in our first telephone conversation. Began to mess me about over payment during the first week. Began ignoring texts and calls inquiring about delayed payment and collection in the second week. While by the third week, he had broken contracts with both me and the couriers he commissioned to attempt what turned out to be a wasted trip to collect my car. In lieu of any other explanation, it seems this lot intended to have the courier collect the car without paying and the plan back-fired when I didn't allow collection. James is certainly a liar and probably a cheat. AVOID!!

Please allow me to explain our version of events. We successfully bided on an off road vehicle on eBay. Unfortunately, due to you being based in the Scottish highlands we could not find a courier willing to collect the vehicle from you to deliver to us as this is approx 800 miles round trip. We then cancelled the purchase subject to eBay rules and regulations. In hindsight, we should have checked your location and obtained courier quotes prior to bidding, however we didn’t foresee this being as much as an issue as it turned out to be and we apologise profusely for any inconvenience we caused to you and I can certainly assure you that there was absolutely no intention in collecting the vehicle and not paying for it!
The Toyota RAV I bought had problems right from the start - brakes, rust, clutch, and new cambelt kit not fitted after I paid for it to be fitted prior to delivery. I have now successfully secured a CCJ against James Blant/AIM Cars. The so-called warranty given with cars does not exist. Make sure you ask for full written details of what the warranty covers and who underwrites it.

Thank you for your review, this vehicle was sold to you on 03/10/2017 with a 12 month warranty which expired 03/10/2018. This warranty was used for repairs which we arranged for you at no cost to yourself. Unfortunately we are unable to cover the cost of any repairs which occur outside of the 12 month warranty period. We missed the deadline to appeal against the CCJ that you issued against us therefore this was granted in your favour, however, we then arranged a private agreement for you to be paid in full and you assured us that the matter you be concluded.

Thank you for your review. You purchased the Toyota from us on 14/10/2017 and this came with a 3 month warranty, with the option to extend to 12 months, which wasn’t taken. The car had a couple of minor issues and as stated in a previous reply to your earlier review in this case you carried out work at your own garage without our knowledge, making a warranty claim impossible as we have to have the repairs to the vehicle authorised by our warranty providers prior to the work being carried out. You then expected us to pay the bill for the repairs you had done, which we could not claim through the warranty. This lead to a dispute with you looking to claim your costs back through a CCJ. We have since reached an agreement, in which we have paid you in full, directly and we have both agreed that this matter is closed, thank you.

Hi I had similar problems when bought my car I got xtra warranty for two hundred to cover two years ,you can read my review ,can you tell me how you went about getting this car dealt with cheers
I was without a car and was interested in a nice 2005 Honda Civic at Aim Cars. When James heard I would be cycling to my appointment to view the car (about 11 miles each way), I got a call back saying he would bring the car to me for viewing and test drive without any obligation. I was very pleased with the car and decided to buy it. He arranged for an MOT to be done and for the car to be delivered to me next day. I noticed the spare wheel was missing and contacted AIM and a week later I have received a message to say that they have one for me. Thank you both.
