Decent sales experience to be fair, that's where it ends, after sales after numerous faults in vehicle found ignored. Will not honour any legal obligations, Refers to the warranty provided as a get out. One this dealer has your money, that's it. Numerous "bodged" repairs found on vehicle, PDI my ass. I am aware of numerous other "customers" speaking with Trading Standards regards this business. Wish I had known before.

We bought my son a car three years ago from AKC of Hertfordshire and went back for a car for myself earlier this year, on both occasions the cars have been immaculate, service was exceptional, friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to return in the future as he stocks an amazing array of cars at realistic prices so worth checking AKC’s website regularly.

Thank you. Look forward to seeing you again for the next purchase. Regards AKC
I would never buy another car of this guy / company, spent 20k on a car and never had so many problems. Now only owning the car for a few months I have a repair bill for £3600 for corroded and leaking pipes from the suspension. When contacting them they are not interested at all. If you sold cars for your job you would think you might know something about them. Not a place to trust in. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I assure you that the list of faults wrong with this car which in the first month he did rectify some of them to a satisfactory standard, only after insisting that if they weren't done I wanted my money back. Including discs and pads.... which should have been changed before he sold the car, if it had have been checked properly! There was a good few things that he didn't fix on the list. I took the car back countless amount of times to give him the chance to fix the problems which I think was fair enough. However these new faults with the car are a major concern that the quality of the vehicles he is selling are in doubt. I also contacted his mechanic and had a lengthy conversation about the cost of the repairs that where needed to my car. And he confirmed that the price would be about right for what needed replacing by the garage I have taken the car to.

Thanks for your review, very interesting, you actually purchased the vehicle in january 2018, yes you are right regarding a few issues that arose after the purchase, unfortunately these do happen with second hand cars, AKC immediately rectified all your findings on the vehicle, Also as a goodwill gesture we changed the discs and pads as you said they sometimes squeak when driving slow, Also we sent it for another mot at a different mot station for you, for your extra peace of mind.As you told me it was a bent mot. The problem is that you now expect Akc to do any work that arises at our cost, even though you still have a valid warranty. My advice next time you buy a car is make sure you can afford it and the running costs.
During my search for a Jaguar XJR I stumbled across AKC who had just taken delivery of 4 cars imported from Japan. I'd heard that Japanese imports were worth considering based on stringent servicing requirements and the fact they were clean cars with little or no corrosion issues. I was dubious about purchasing a car from 150 miles away following a less than memorable experience when buying a used car in the south east. I rang Adam who was very convincing regarding his experience and history of dealing with imports of Jaguars in particular and I arranged to go and take a look at the cars on offer. AKC had an impressive stock of cars and I found a very nice looking XJR. I decided to purchase the car and left a £1000 deposit and arranged to pick up the car the following week. I'd looked the car over as comprehensively as I could and noticed one of the tyres was deflated. Adam agreed to get it fixed. We took the car for a test drive and the car drove very well. I managed to negotiate a £500 discount in the purchase price but still felt the car was overpriced. However I liked the car and decided I'd have it complete with what I consider a standard 6 month warranty. I informed Adam that as I could not get under the car to check the underneath I would take it to a Jaguar specialist where i have my cars serviced for it to be checked out. The day after I picked the car up I noticed the tyre that was supposed to be repaired was again deflated. I took the car to a local tyre fitting station where a screw was removed and the tyre repaired at my cost. A few days later I took the car to my Jag specialist and got the car up in the air for a visual check. Whilst the underneath of the car was very clean it was discovered several of the suspension joints were badly worn and the brake pads were extremely worn with the rear ones nearly down to the metal and the discs requiring replacing. I obtained 2 quotes for both genuine parts and aftermarket parts. The technician suggested these were at the worst MOT failures and at the best critical advisories. The MOT certificate issued on the day I purchased the car showed no advisories. I rang Adam after emailing him the technical report and quotes and he suggested I take the car back to him and he would put anything right that was deemed to be an MOT failure. I said the car was unfit to be driven on the road because of the brake pads and I would book it in at a local service station to get the pads replaced, the discs and suspension joints checked. Their view was that the brake pads should have been an MOT failure but the discs were OK and the suspension joints were subjective from an MOT perspective. I paid for the replacement brake pads and informed Adam who suggested he would reimburse me with £100 which i have regretfully never received. A couple of weeks later I was driving down to the south coast for a family holiday when the engine management light came on and the car went into restricted performance. I took the car for a diagnostic check at a local service centre and an air intake fault was identified. The technician removed the air filter element which was completely black and choked up. He blew the air filter out with an air line replaced it and cleared the fault codes. On the way home the same thing happened. I messaged Adam who was on holiday and he told me get the car fixed under warranty. I rang the warranty company who agreed it should be booked into a Jaguar specialist. After having the air filter element changed the car was found to have a faulty air flow valve fitted (one from a Toyota). This was changed and as of today the car has been running nicely for 3 days with no problems. So why am I telling you this? Well whilst I have to take some accountability for my experience and I could have requested an AA inspection I would have expected a better level of pre-sales service on the car. On the other hand Adam did offer to take the car back and check it over although due to the state of the brakes and the distance involved I chose to cover the cost of some of the repairs myself. I certainly never found Adam to be aggressive or rude in any way. Assuming the warranty company cover the cost of the engine mgt issues hopefully a line can be drawn under the experience of the last few weeks. My advice to anyone purchasing a used car from AKC or anywhere else for that matter is unless you're something of an authority in what you're buying arrange a professional inspection whilst remembering there are risks in purchasing a used car. Overall I believe I have a lovely car which was pretty well unmarked when i bought it apart from normal alloy wheel scuffs and dents. I've since had the alloys refurbished and the car is now a real head turner. By the way I still think it was a bit overpriced but I'm sure you'd disagree.

Hi Thanks very much for your detailed review about AKC, And the purchase of your 13 year old jaguar xjr. Ref our telephone conversation we had after you had it inspected by your JAGUAR SPECIALIST , I was horrified about the outcome, I immediately asked you to bring the car back, and report this to vosa, I recall you hesitated at that time, your exact words was, I LOVE THE CAR. The next i heard from you a couple of weeks later was the following. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS A MOT INSPECTOR, HIS VIEWS WAS ITS A VERY NICE SOLID VEHICLE FOR THE AGE AND MILEAGE, AND THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE TO FAIL THE CAR ON A MOT INSPECTION, MAY I REMIND YOU, YOU APOLOGISED TO ME. I rest my case. Kind regards Adam
I bought a Porsche Boxster from them. It was a smooth and pleasant transaction and they were a pleasure to deal with. I love the car. It's clean, mechanically sound, was reasonably priced and had been well taken care of. Unlike some other dealers I've used who just offer their own warranty which is pretty much worthless, AKC provided a comprehensive and properly underwitten third party one. It's worth a visit just to see the lovely forecourt and amazing cars!

thanks for your review, at least the sun is out now. ENJOY
Bought a Saab 9-3 Convertible from Adam. It was more expensive than others of its age but it was in excellent condition for its age and low mileage - so the additional cost was worth it. Adam was upfront about a couple of issues that the car had had prior to offering the car for sale and provided all the supporting paperwork that these had been fixed properly. I was able to take the car for a long test drive and check it all out. After buying the car, a further problem was dealt with quickly and without quibble. I can honestly say that the whole process went through without worry. We sorted out our own finance but did take up the offer on the warranty to take it to a full year - I don't envisage having to use it but it's reassuring to have for a car of its age (11 yr old). All in all I would recommend AKC.

Having owned sports cars for 50+ years and dealt with many dealers this is by far the best service I have ever experienced anywhere in the country. Adam has gone far beyond anything you could expect. A problem with the pan sunroof on the mini cooper s I bought has been dealt with in a thoroughly professional manner, constant updates on the progress and how many dealers wife would ring you at 8pm on a Saturday night to give you a progress report. This is a unique and brilliant dealership. If Adam has a car you would like go there. Mike

At first the salesman at AKC of Hertfordshire was a really lovely chat it seemed I went and looked at the M3 and it was beautiful I asked him to start it up which he did it rained quite nicely I then asked him if I could take it for a test drive and he said of course he got the keys and as I was standing by the driver's side door he got in and said jump in and he proceeded to take me for a drive which I should have said something but I I'm a trusting Guy and thought I will be able to hear if anything is wrong but forgot that really you need to drive the car so you can feel a lot through the pedals and steering wheel etc so as he drove it to the petrol station it seemed ok I noticed the gear knob was really worn I said that's a bit iffy he said it's just rings and showed me his hand which had rings on it so I thought ok then he drove back we went through the finance and that was it I came back the next day all was done then I drove it for the first time as soon as I started driving it I noticed it was really rough rattling through gear change and Exhaust sounded very rough... there was a whooshing sound coming from one of the wheels and it got louder and louder the more I went over 20 miles per hour I called him when I got home and Adam was not available only his assistant who was helpful enough and told me to bring the car back which it turned out to be the heat shield was bent and stuck into the wheel as it was turning which they pushed a hammer through and poked it back..(professional right ) as soon as I got home and when you're out of the excitement of buying the car of your dreams you can start to look closer... the oil light came up one day the next was the engine management light ..although that did go off by itself, it's still went on none the less I took pictures of both the oil light on and the engine management light being on as proof ...so I took it to BMW and paid for a full diagnostic check to be carried out to which they came back saying the rear left tyre is too small to be on that car and is in fact from an Audi. They also reported the back box had been cut open and had all of the insides pulled out then a plate welded over, this was what that rough noise was ... the seatbelt handovers were broken on both sides ...the buttons on the radio were broken so I could not press them and the gear stick basically fell apart exposing the electrical components inside... BMW also came back with the report saying oil leak bank one though they said this could be spillage from topping up but we still need to keep an eye on it... 2 days later is when the oil light came on.... (if this so far wouldn't make you have 2nd thoughts and want to return the car then you've got more money than sense with a car that costs a little over £700 just to service :-/ ) BMW also brought to my attention overspray above the driver's side door that has spilt onto the rubber and they found a receipt for body work that had been repaired and sprayed. When I mentioned this to Adam he raised his hands up as wide as his little Arms could go and put his face an inch from my face saying "and what and what , car still drives fine don't it ! I didn't know!!"... I had to say no less than eight times to calm down as this wasn't even my main complaint I was merely bringing it to his attention... Plus my 9 year old daughter was sitting no more than three feet away who started crying when we left the building.. I literally could not believe the change in this little chap who only the day before told me over the phone yes no problem bring the car back I will give you your money back... well that's me being nice he actually said after I told him all of my concerns... verbatim.. this has gone far enough !!!don't insult my intelligence!!! bring the car back monday I'll give you your money back!" I called the finance company and the consumer rights people for advice and they told me due to the mis-selling of the vehicle and only having the vehicle for two weeks I can reject the car and get my money back,... so as soon as I got out the car he said to me first off you'll not be getting all your money back.. do you know why? you're paying for the rental of that BMW M3 for the time you've had it... I said I no my rights? He said I was going to make you pay a grand but think yourself lucky I'm only taking £500 from your deposit.. let's do a deal ..let's sit down man to man... he said I've been putting up with you for two weeks sending your emails!! one was at 12 o'clock at night !!! to which I said it doesn't wake you up receiving an email Adam lol .. Unless you sleep with your laptop on your pillow or you forgot to put phone on silent at night ....it just took me that long to write out the list of things that were not disclosed to me at sale of car and I also said I only sent you three emails to which he said I don't care( nearly everything i've written that he said was pretty much shouted by him ...not spoken) in the three and a half years I trained and competed as a semi-professional mixed martial artist it was single handedly the most difficult situation I've had to be in to keep my cool... I've never lost my temper with anyone and don't intend to do so neither but this chap knew he had me bent over a barrel while I had my daughter there and while he had my money and the finance companies money I could not do anything except let him steal £500 of my deposit and he actually got me to sign for it as well. As a last ditch effort to try and get him to think otherwise and calm down I said I would put this on Facebook and let people know about this and he just rared up even more than before shouting I don't care I don't care do it mate I don't care!!! I actually wasn't going to write this but what changed was reading what he put about the last guys comment saying he was lying... what an absolute cretin not even excepting the slightest bit of criticism such as what the last chap wrote? All he said was his attitude changed?....this chap will offer you the world in the heat of the sale but God help you if you're not happy with faults that arrive straight after and wish to return it undamaged ... no bear in mind my first impressions of this guy was he was really really nice so I could get on with him I even said this to my missus but this would have stayed that way had I not had any problems with the vehicle as a lots of these other reviews state they are very happy as they obviously got a good car which is fair enough and good on them, but if you had my luck then you've lucked out big time! Because out of his tiny1 little office (which absolutely reeks of smelly dog )(probably due to being backed onto the dog kennel given its place at the bottom of the garden ).

AKC OF HERTFORDSHIRE from AKC Of Hertfordshire Ltd in response to THROWING TOYS OUT THE PRAM!
30 years of trading and selling thousands of cars, i have never dealt with someone like this individual, clearly taking advantage of my good nature, lying to his partner about the price of the car, when she found out it was 5k dearer than he said, then the problems started, the car was a very nice example, even on inspection by BMW they told him it was very nice for year and mileage but he demanded a new clutch and flywheel at a cost of £3,760 and expected me to pay because he couldn't drive it (there was nothing wrong with it), i must point out that this vehicle was never rejected, i said i will buy it back for £500 less than he paid and he agreed as i didn't want him as a customer, also the main thing that worried me which he fails to mention in his review about AKC that he turned up at my premises with a baseball bat with his daughter!
