Please please do NOT buy a car from Alan or Joe!! I cannot stress that enough, unfortunately it is too late for me to heed that advice and if I can stop someone else buying a car that has a lot of faults I hope I can. Myself, my husband and child went to said garage and bought a BMW 1 series, which Alan and Joe knew was for myself and my son to travel about in( woman and child) on the surface Alan and joe seem very nice and helpful but after a test drive of car, we noticed an oil smell when you started it and the exhaust was blowing, they told us they would look into it and sort it out before we collected the vehicle, the next day we were contacted by themselves and said it needed a new PDF unit and as it would cost too much they would be prepared to pay half the cost to have it sorted!!! In hindsight I realise we should of walked away but we were against time getting a vehicle and needed one ASAP.. So we paid half once we collected the car and were told the paperwork to state the work had been done was at the garage and as they were shut they would forward it on to us.,, the car seemed fine for a month but the smell and blowing returned!! After numerous phone calls to them and been fobbed off that the paperwork is in the post!!!!! What for 5 months!! We took the car into a reputable garage to be serviced to be told the work had never been carried out and would cost about £400 to do!!! So not only gave we been lied to and swindled out of paying half for work that has never been carried out .. We now have to pay again to get it fixed!!!! I'm sure if Alan or Joe ever read this they know who we are but I bet they will never contact us!! Do NOT BUY from them!! Donna Cooper Derby!!

Hi Donna, Sorry to hear that you feel you have had a bad buying experience with ourselves. I usually do not reply to the reviews the customers leave, but in this case I feel that we have been unfairly judged. You bought a BMW from us which we had a new dpf fitted at the time of purchase. I agree that we did not send the invoice with in the first month, as we pay our invoices monthly. Once you rang and asked for the invoice, Oliver our mechanic which we have used for 30years and are very reputable in Nottingham, sent the invoice to your address. At the time you were moving properties, and once sent we have not heard anything from you, which is now 4 months. As we have not heard anything from you, we assumed the invoice was received for the work that not only you, but our selves have paid for, and was carried out, with evidence of the invoice. You never made contact with us since, so this is the first we have heard that you have had a problem with the car. Since hearing this today, I have rang your husband and informed him that we will send the invoice for the work carried out when you bout the car, and also make a contribution to the problem you have had, which once again we have never been told about, until reading this review. Thank you Joe for finally getting back to us and I'm only sorry that it took me to place a review on here for you to contact us. I would like to address some of the unfair points you raise... We bought the car in August 2015 and didn't actually move until mid November 2015 which is 3 months and in that time we never received the said paperwork, my husband contacted you several times in that period to chase the paperwork, so that we had proof that the work had been carried out, we were told that it was in the post, or that you'd email it to us... There was no mention of a man called Oliver that was to be sending it to us as you stated in the phone to my husband yesterday. We have even placed and paid for a 1 year redirection with Royal Mail before we moved and also have a neighbour collecting any other mail for us. So please tell us what we are meant to think when we have never received it and after contacting you it's never materialised.. We then take it to be serviced and are told the work was never done... Please tell me what we are meant to think??? As we have been fobbed off previously and my husband did phone you on 2 other occasions and you admitted yesterday to my husband, you had 2 missed calls from him and never contacted him back, I feel iam more than justified to write this review rather than try again to contact yourselves to not get a response or to get its in the post!! Im the customer and should not have to chase you repeatedly for the invoice. If you would like to contact the garage we had the car serviced at to verify all of this then I can pass there no onto you?? I have owned many different cars and purchased from many second hand dealers and can honestly say this was the best car buying experience yet! A very professional, trouble-free and excellent service from Alan Tully and his team. They are helpful, honest and great people to do business with. They delivered my car the week before Christmas to the South Coast, which I was very grateful for as couldn't spare the time to drive to Nottingham to see it - I have never bought a car before this way and naturally was a little apprehensive. I needn't have worried as everything was fine, the car was just as described and I was happy to purchase it. I am delighted with my new car and have been assured that if I have any questions I can contact them for help. Wishing Alan and his team a very Happy New Year from a very happy customer.

The second-hand car business is one of extremes, at one end the abysmally poor experience, fraught with pitfalls for the unwary. At the other end s where I would rate my experience of purchasing car from Alan Tulley. iBoth Alan and his staff were professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with.
Excellent attitude and a must visit for all car buyers out there, we made are mind up late Christmas Eve called and was so well looked after by Alan himself that we left so impressed I felt it was a must to leve a review. Showroom although unorthodox is stacked with top quality motors, we came with only eyes for a stunning insignia that was show to the highest standered even better than the web picks. Logbook and all current paperwork was offered and test drive still offered even on Christmas Eve!!! We took the car right there and couldn't be more impressed, quality inside and out on the showrooms valet and a dream to drive! Superb dealer make the best choice you will never regret and visit this superb showroom.
At my age, and the amount of vehicles I've owned, I'm always sceptical about used car dealers, their descriptions of cars they have for sale and the service they promise. Then, just as I'd almost given up on finding a good dealer, I came upon Alan Tully's advert for the car I'd been looking for. Thinking the description was too good to be true, I travelled down to Nottingham with not much optimism. Then I turned the corner into Little Tennis Street, and the car was right there beckoning me. It looked as good, of not better than the description and, on taking it for a test drive, both my wife and I fell in love with it. Alan and his team gave me a good price for my trade in and the deal was done, before I knew it we were driving away in the very car we wanted, at the right price, with a service history like you wouldn't believe. We've had the car a couple of months now, still love it and the after sales service we've had from Alan and his team has been absolutely second to none. So good dealers probably are out there, but, whoever they are, they would have to go a long way to better ALAN TULLY CAR SALES. We really are both surprised and delighted, and would certainly recommend them, and use them again when and if we need to.
After researching cars on Autotrader and looking at them at other dealerships, I was beginning to believe that any wording used on there was just a mere guidance of the car (aka a pack of lies). However, after calling Alan and having a chat with him, I was reassured that there are some honest descriptions on there. Alan personally walked around the car and described it while I was on the call and discussed the service record also. As the car was over 2 hours away from home, I wanted to make sure it was worth the visit. It was! An excellent example for a good price. I wasn't offered much for my trade in, but life is life, and business is business. An easy sale with assistance in changing my private plate thrown in for good measure. I'm just hoping the car is a fault free as the sale. Will give Alan a call in the future when I come to replace another car.
Really helpful especially Joe, many thanks. The car was just how it was described and any issues got sorted very quickly. Only had the Golf 1.6 fsi a week which I got for my daughter which she was over the moon with. Again many thanks to Alan and Joe and also another guy who's name I did not get.
I was looking for a specific Range Rover on the internet and up popped the car I now own. I did not visit the showroom of Alan Tully Cars nor did I meet Alan Tully or his son. However, I had numerous conversations with both gentlemen and quickly gained a high level of confidence in their business ethic and the car I had read about and seen numerous photos and record data. That was on Monday, two days later the car arrived at my house in Surrey from Nottingham and I am delighted. The vehicle was everything I expected and was delivered by a chap called Paul who was equally pleasant and helpful.... 10 out of 10 !!
I've just got a shogun of Allan Tully cars and I must say there was no hard sale with Joe Tully, he listened to what I wanted and went the extra mile to keep me happy. I would recommend these guys if you are looking for a car or car or 4x4 then look no further than Allan Tully cars. 10 out of 10 service.
Stereotypical car salesman. Dealer was very friendly up front but dropped off the face of the earth after I discovered hidden faults after purchasing. They even neglected to mention these faults despite me telling them I'd be taking the car into Europe two days after purchase. Leaving me with a broken tyre valve (BMW only part!), check engine light and intermittent headlight fault.
