Well what can i say bought a car cash, mot failed the day i picked up and then passed hours later Clutch goes 3 months after i bought it even thou i did phone and say it wobbles after 70mph Clutch repaired i had to pay half labour now i need a new clutch because the dual mass is knackered which should of been replaced when the clutch was done now i have to find a 1000 pounds to fix what he knew was an issue with the car 3 month warranty given any longer bed of had too pay , bent comes to mind steer clear im single parent and trusted this seller

STAY AWAY DO NOT BUY FROM THEM DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP BOUGHT A RANGE ROVER SPORT 24.04.21 YY10HWP and was riddled with problems from the start, wouldn’t issue a refund 7 days after purchase after he’s had it 6 days in a ‘garage’ for repairs, his salesman told me I could have a full refund under the consumer rights act 2015 but Alexander himself refused to issue the refund and threatened me in many ways. 4 weeks later after solicitors got involved I finally got my money back and has cost me a fortune in bills. No apology or anything off these clowns. COST ME A FORTUNE IN SOLICITOR FEES TO GET MY MONEY BACK 4 WEEKS LATER! Told my solicitor to ask me nicely not to leave a bad review or I wouldn’t get my money back. This is how they keep 5* reviews.

Dear Adam, Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to unreservedly apologise for your upset. We did not mean to annoy you and are sorry that we let you down. After purchasing the car you told us you found a problem with the keyless lock. We did our best to resolve this for you, but neither our garage nor ourselves could replicate this fault. You therefore chose to hand the car back to us a week after purchase. I wholeheartedly agree that your refund should have been processed sooner. Under normal circumstances, this would have been done quickly and without quibble, however at the time, I was a new parent to my 4 week old baby boy. We are a small family business, so taking time off work to support my family, combined with sleepless nights, meant that I took my eye off the ball. I would like to apologise once again for the upset this caused you. You will be pleased to hear that family life is now much more settled and I am the proud father to a rambunctious toddler. Very pleased with the service I received today. I believe your customer service could be enhanced based on my experience. I would be prepared to recommend Alexander & Co if you could pick clients up at the airport and put a quarter of a tank of fuel in the vehicle.

It seems only good reviews are kept elsewhere but looking at the reviews on here it seems others have had a similar experience at Alexander Daniel & Co. Seemed like a great guy to deal with but the car wasn't ready when agreed. Loads of excuses, messed me about, wouldn't return calls. I had it serviced immediately with a reputable garage who picked up issues that should have been spotted on the MOT. I was offered a back street garage to deal but paid for the work to be done properly etc. Having bought many cars new and used this is probably the worst experience.

I purchased a rav4 from Alexander Daniel & Co and in the 4 months that I've owned it it's been in the garage three times, to start with it needed a new timing belt, a few weeks later the car broke down resulting in the rac being called, it was taken straight back to my local garage and one of the break shoes was completely shattered, it needed shoes, discs and pads, four days later I could smell burning burning, back to the garage again, this time it was the handbrake cable, the garage advised me to get rid of the car due to really bad corrosion underneath the car, they said it looks as if it's been in salt water!!! On the website it says prestige cars, that's a joke, I have now gone to which whom are advising me on my rights, I have also written to Alexander Daniels if it's not resolved then I will go to a appropriate ombudsmen as the car is not of satisfactory quality.

Looked at a car, test drove it. Liked it. Asked Alexander Daniel & Co to mot it the same day. They didn't contact me so I phoned and was told they couldn't get it motd until several days later. They never bothered to call me. I had to chase. The mot was due to be done on the Tuesday and they were to call me and we do the deal and I buy the car. Due to their lack of customer service and failure in promise to me, I decided to call Monday to check all was on for tuesday as I was selling my car Tuesday and couldn't be without a car. Was told mot was still on for Tuesday .. However due to people being in touch, they decided to raise the price significantly.. I hadn't put a deposit on the car so there was no legal hold on it for me. Needless to say I wasn't happy and didn't buy it. I write this review to allow you to draw your own conclusions... I have stated the absolute truth. The facts are towards me: They failed at meeting their promises. They failed at communicating Money came before my customer satisfaction and care. Again I remind you, I do not tell you how to think. Draw you on own conclusions .. Remember this was pre sale, makes me wonder what their post sale would have been like.

For this reason we were unable to finalise the sale of the car with you whilst we arranged to get the work completed. Bought my car from Alexander Daniel & Co a year ago now and the service was great but the car not so great! It's just had problem after problem and I wish I had never purchased it! From engine fault lights, faulty window regulators, it needed a new water pump, brakes are on their way out and now it has an airbag fault on it! If I could return the car I would!

I purchased a vehicle on finance and the car was faulty (reg LE57EOH). Alexander first tried to understate the faults and deny that the faults were covered under their warranty, regardless that the engine would cut-out unexpectedly (1 of many problems). I had to get the car inspected by a separate garage before they accepted that there were faults present. they attempted to 'repair' the car at my expense (considering this was still within 3 months of purchasing the car and I later learnt that under the Consumer Act costs should have been met by the dealership, silly me). Nevertheless, they had this attempt at repairing the car at my cost which took 3 weeks to 'repair'. The car run smoothly for about a day thereafter until the engine again cut-out unexpectedly whilst in first gear. I immediately contacted Alexander who advised "don't worry, its only a sticky solenoid, give the engine a good rev and this will clear the sticky solenoid" - clearly understating the faults again. Alexander refused to accept that there were still faults so I had to again get the car inspected by a third party. Funny enough the exact same error code was present. Luckily I managed to get a rejection through the car finance company as I had two previous inspection reports by other garages (before/after their repairs). If you purchase a car from this garage, my only advice would be to get a full inspection done ASAP so you can get a refund with ease. I guess I was just unlucky considering the garage have good reviews from others.

After trying to fix the car for you, at your request, we have given you a full rebate with no quibble. We have acted within the terms of our warranty and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We carefully source low-mileage vehicles from main dealers and also complete a full pre-delivery inspection on every vehicle before it is sent out. The nature of working with used cars means that very occasionally vehicles can develop a fault further down the line. This happens infrequently, but when it does, we do everything we can to help our customers get the problem fixed. The fault you experienced was intermittent, which made it difficult to diagnose. Our mechanics carried out remedial work on your vehicle, then tested it. They didn’t see any error codes, so returned the vehicle back to you honestly believing it was fixed. The problem then reoccurred again while you were driving it a short while later. This was just as frustrating for us as it was for you. To try to get to the bottom of the problem, so with your permission, I personally drove the car for several days. It drove like a dream which didn’t help matters! We did everything we could to track down the fault. We really wanted get it fixed so you could start enjoying your new car. We always honour the terms of our warranty and Consumer Rights Act. For this reason were happy to give you a full refund. We did this promptly and without quibble as soon you requested it. We apologise for the inconvenience this matter has caused. I've recently purchased my Ford S-Max from Alexander Daniel and am very pleased with both the vehicle and the service from the company. The S-Max is a great car and I love driving it! Dealing with the staff was a pleasant and reassuring experience. I felt I could trust their opinions and there were no pressure sales tactics which I can't stand. People beware Alexander Daniel & Co is not to be trusted. I recently agreed to buy a vehicle from them for the sum of £38,000 no small amount of money. I paid a £2000 deposit and was about to transfer another £32,000 when I discovered the vehicle had a lot of outstanding finance on it. When questioned about it they said the finance would only be paid after I placed my deposit. I only had their word for that and there was certainly no mention of this when I was selling the car. I asked them to clear the finance and I would finish buying the car they refuse to do this. If you don't believe me the vehicle registration is MD64JEO. Thoroughly disgusting and disreputable treatment. We all work hard for our money. STAY away from this dealer

As a company we hold a consumer credit license which allows us to arrange and settle finance through any finance house. We are strictly governed by FCA legislation and cannot sell a car with outstanding finance. In addition, no finance company would lend money on a vehicle that already had finance outstanding. We also offered to provide you with a letter from the finance company to prove your vehicle was finance free before you paid the outstanding amount. We have been completely honest and transparent about this. We regret you felt have had to leave negative feedback online and I sincerely apologise if you felt you were mislead in any way. This was a result of poor communication within our company, rather than a desire to mislead you in any way.
