Allen Ford Bath had our truck since 8th May to 6th December with 5 gaps totally a maximum 4/5 weeks. We trusted Allen Ford Bath but more fool us. We trusted their diagnosis that our truck needed a new gear box, apparently refused goodwill because it was out of warranty. Paid £6100. Less than a week later truck was acting the same. It had five health checks with Allen Ford. We also had a Service Engine Warning come up on our app on 2nd August. It was included in one of the issues yet again we had. It went in in the 8th August. They had it another 3/4 weeks. Same issues continued. Terrible whining noises too. We were told Allen Ford bath couldn’t have it until the 7th October. Another 6 week wait. Trucks engine went bang 2 days before it was due in. Truck was recovered to them, they had it until the 6th December when I got it collected and delivered to Ford Trowbridge. Allen Ford bath suspected timing belt gone. We didn’t believe them and did not authorise any more work to be done encases we were already at £1100 and they had had it all that time with no proper diagnosis. Truck needs a new engine, intercooler and turbo. Timing belt is deteriorating too. Estimated at £14,173. we have been refused goodwill on the basis that the truck was over due its 2nd service total 4000 miles over. Because Allen Ford bath made us wait 6/8 weeks to be booked in. we are totally *****. Truck is leased and was due back on the 1st November. Had to extend for another 6 months. has anyone had any of these issues and managed to get goodwill? We are paying nearly £500 a month for the truck, and we haven’t had barely had it since May. apparently it didn’t even need a new gear box. Our complaint is now with ALD to look into. Absolute nightmare. .
My transit custom was recovered to allen ford Bath with a suspected Timing belt failure, after two weeks ans making numerous call was told that there was no compressions. They assured me that the belt was OK and that they needed to do further diagnosis, by this time a case was open with Ford as the van was only just outside of the 3 year warranty. After a further two to three weeks they said that they tried to start it ans low and behold it had healed itself. I asked repeatedly if the belt had failed and was told no and they didn't know why it suddenly started, and returned the van to me. As I need a reliable vehicle and going from what I was informed I had lost confidence in the van and they offered to exchange for a car, and due to the circumstances I was left with no option. However when Ford customer service contacted me with a update I was told that infact the belt had failed and a major repair had been carried out. Now if I had not been lied to and fraudulently in essence conned into exchanging the van I would not be in a position that I have lost in excess of £6 to £7k. I am currently waiting on a reply from head office as to what they propose to do to rectify this issue but I can see a court case happening. Do not use this dealer you cannot believe a word that they say.

We are in the same boat because of them. We have a Ford Ranger Thunder edition 2020 model. It’s just done 36000 miles. Went into Allen Ford in May with the truck acting sluggish, slipping through gears and over revving,, making whining noises etc. took 2 months for them to come back and say it needs a new gear box. Cost us £6100. Truck was exactly the same problems when it came back only was acting worse. Been with them until last week on and off 7 months. Because of them and their incompetence, neglect and not following protocol, we are needing to spend £14,173 for a new engine, turbo and intercooler. So over 20k on a truck like that apparently is acceptable?!!!! And no good will! We are appalled.
I live in Essex and have contacted Allen Ford at Brentwood, Rayleigh and Dunton, and explained to each that i was looking for a Kuga Titaniam, despite visiting all of them, I never got a call from any of these branches. I was continually checking the website and found what I wanted at the Bath dealership, Tim Reay explained that it had been sold but would find me what I was looking for which he did. He was extremely professional in keeping me updated with his progress, and i eventually collected the car from the Bath showroom. Grant whittaker met me on the day and arrranged for one of his staff to accompany me on the test drive as i had no knowlwdge of the area. Like Tim & Grant, the young guy who accompanied me on the test drive were all the perfect ambassadores for Allen Ford. So, if you are thinking of buying a used Ford car from Allen Ford go direct to the Bath dealership.
I saw the other review of this dealership and was shocked - certainly doesn't compare to my Experience! Tim was so helpful and considerate - I confess I wasn't the easiest customer as I didn't really know what I wanted, but he took me around, showed me a couple of different models and when I realised I really liked the Fiesta, he helped me with all the different models and so on. They didn't have a car on site that I liked the colour of, which I thought was such a shame, but he said it wasn't a problem - what colour did I want and presto he found me one in the most gorgeous blue colour with all the features I wanted. It was a little bit more than I wanted to pay, but they gave me a bit more for my part exchange than I expected so it was affordable. I was a bit nervous as I'd never bought a car I hadn't seen, but it was absolutely immaculate! I am so happy with it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS I bought a second hand car from Allen Ford Bath and it was the most painful experience I've ever had. Before I picked the car up it was supposed to have a dent repaired on the sill, whole car machine polished, wing mirror resprayed and a full tank of fuel. I picked the car up, they forgot my invoice, the warranty, got the price wrong, tax wrong and the car had only been machine polished, badly. They only did the doors (apparently thats the whole car) and left them covered in highly visible swirls. Nothing else had been done. Car went back 4 times over the space of 3 months to get the work done, eventually I gave up. They repaired the dent ok (can still remains up close) but resprayed it very badly. They eventually said they would strip and respray the entire sill to make it look right, but just polished it instead on the 4th time. On the previous 2 attempts they did nothing at all and tried to make out they'd resprayed the wrong side, when they clearly hadn't. Unbelieveable! Wing mirror was machine polished first instead of resprayed but was still covered in scratches. It then took them two attempts to respray it. On the first attempt they let dust settle on it before spraying and on the second attempt they left marks where they'd wet sanded it and not polished it. In the end I finished it myself with some compound and polish. Alloys started peeling after 2 months so they were resprayed under warranty, badly. They didn't sand down the peel marks properly so you can still see them and they let the paint run in a few places. On top of that they broke my wheel nut key but decided not to say anything and chucked it away. It was only by chance that I found the bag for it was empty. Got given a replacement from their master set which was heavily worn and kept slipping, so I had to pay for a new one. I highly recommend that you avoid this dealer at all costs. They can't get anything right and just don't care. I wrote to them as recommended by consumer advice, stating that they'd had their opportunity to complete the work and that I would like a price reduction so I could get the work done elsewhere. The manager responded by ringing me, having a go at me and then informing me that he hadn't had a chance to complete the work. The car had been back to them 3 times at this point, after much arguing I gave them a 4th chance but it was hopeless. I hope no one else has to go through this. I can't believe Ford let these people sell and repair their cars.
