In December 2024, I purchased a BMW 525D from Lee at Alpha Motors. When I picked up the car, I noticed an issue that I hadn't caught during the test drive. I returned the car the same day, explained the problem, and the mechanic requested a test drive. I agreed, and he quickly confirmed the issue, offering to book the car in for repairs. Before leaving, I checked with Lee to confirm that the repair would be covered by my Three-Month Statutory Warranty, and he assured me that it would. The work was completed, and the issue was resolved. However, a few weeks later, I encountered another problem with the car, and this is where my experience shifted from five stars to one star. I called to explain the issue and was told that I didn’t have a Three-Month Statutory Warranty, which I found confusing, considering the first issue had been covered under warranty. I was then transferred to the Sales Manager, who claimed that the first issue had been fixed as a gesture of goodwill and if I wanted this issue fixing I would have to pay for it myself. During my 15-minute call with the Sales Manager, I felt patronized and belittled. He repeatedly spoke to me slowly, as though I couldn’t understand him. It’s not just about what is said, but how it’s said! Regardless of whether you’re spending £1,000 or £100,000 on a car, customers deserve to be treated with respect. People work hard for their money, and based on the other reviews, I’m not the only one who feels this way. I won't be a returning to Alpha Motors again and will take my hard earned cash else where.

Hi Adam, thankyou for your recent review you have left on various platforms. Review platforms offer a great way for the public an garages to review each other but this only works when full honesty and full disclosure is given in a review as to give context to the review. In an effort to keep review sites relevant I would like to add some information to your review that you failed to mention. Firstly the car you purchased was a 24 year old Bmw 5 series that was very clearly advertised separately to our regular retail stock and the advert description described the car as being a part exchange bargain and not a car that would reach our retail standards and as such would not be subject to the same rigorous preparation programme that our retail stock goes though. You were happy to respond to that advert. Secondly when you attended the showroom you were directed to our trade compound where again you were told the conditions this car was being sold under and you were happy to proceed, you were then given the chance to inspect the car which you did numerous times and you then brought someone with you to inspect the car under no pressure from any of our staff. At the point you wanted to proceed with purchase you were then again made aware of the sale conditions on this 24 year old car, you were still happy to proceed and signed a document to say you were happy with the sale conditions. We did carry out a small repair on the car on collection as a good will gesture. At no time did we say or use your stated 'Three Month Statutory Warranty' , this is your language. Also at no time did we question your statutory consumer rights about the car being fit for purpose and of merchantable quality. With regards to our telephone conversation I must apologise if I caused any upset in any way as that was never intended but as we did have to go over the same points quite a few times before we had to agree to disagree. You were never going to achieve a free of charge repair that you were looking for. You also failed to mention that at the end of the conversation I offered to look at the car in our workshops and as a good will gesture diagnose the fault for free to which you declined the offer. With regards to reviews that are out there about Alpha Motors I encourage people to check our reviews across the many platforms and you will see literally hundreds of positive reviews about Alpha Motors from the many customers who return to Alpha Motors time and time again to and Lee and other members of staff are mentioned by name for the way they deal with customers in such a professional way. Unfortunately we cannot please every one all of the time no matter how hard we try. You are quite right that customers can choose to spend there money when and where they like and as such I welcome anyone reading our reviews to come and give us a try and review us and our business in a true and honest way.
I wish I had read these reviews first. Initial cat buying was excellent bur once the faults started with the car, they didn’t want to help. The fault was there when they sold me the car. They use computer to delete fault codes which is a temporary fix. Avoid buying any vehicles from them. I promise you will regret it.

I have had an unfortunate experience with Alpha Motors and I’m writing this review to warn all potential customers to please fully check over your vehicles and paperwork (ie online gov website for mot history etc) before the 30 day period runs out where you can hand the car back for a full refund. I bought a Mercedes’ c class in December 2021 and was very pleased with the service I initially received, very friendly and helpful. I dealt with Lee who was and is very friendly and I don’t blame him for anything. Only the actual company who I believe do not care about the vehicles they sell at all. The engine light come on within the first week to which I took it back into alpha where the light was switched off and I was sent on my way and told it was just a sensor. It come on again within a week or so and I took it back once again. They told me I was low on fuel and it had knocked a sensor and I was sent on my way. Of course the engine light come on again and this time I was furious. I took it back and contacted my finance company who got in contact with Alpha and surprisingly alpha finally did some work on the car. I got it back but it was still having issues (extremely smoky exhaust, trouble starting etc) I took it to my own personal garage to have it looked over to which he discovered the car had the wrong engine! The serial number on the engine did not match the serial number on my logbook! I also discovered that the tyre had wires exposed. This car had apparently passed its MOT and had a full check before being sold. I further discovered the mileage had been clocked back when I did my HPI check/mot history. The mileage was lower the year after the previous MOT. I trusted Alpha and therefore didn’t do my own HPI check which I definitely regret now. How alpha could sell a vehicle like this is beyond me and I would be seriously petrified to purchase another from them. I luckily got a full refund from my finance company but I doubt that would have been the case if I didn’t have my finance company looking after me. When trying to liaise with Alpha when I first started having issues (before the wrong engine was discovered) they knocked £1000 off the vehicle price if I was to return it to them which I refused. PLEASE check over your vehicles and documents before the 30 period runs out where you can return for a full refund.

I bought a BMW 1 series from Alpha Motors. Within 28 days the car developed a major fault. The dashboard was lit up with red warnings! I phone alpha motors and explained the problem to them. They point blank refused to look at it. I was basically left with a broken car. I took the car to Bowker Preston BMW. They examined it and diagnosed a fault with the DPF and the repair bill was £1,250. I went back to Alpha Motors and I as expected they weren’t interested. Alpha Motors temporarily cleared the DPF fault and they knowing and dishonestly sold the vehicle to me. You are possibly here reading reviews about this garage because you either have doubts or want reassurance. From my personal experience with this rogue motor trader, I could not recommend doing business with these and if you must, do it with caution because if something goes wrong, you are on your own!
I can't recommend Alpha Motors enough. Lee and the team were absolutely brilliant. They went above and beyond, meaning we could drive away in our gorgeous new car on the same day. They made the experience so easy for us from start to finish, after driving 2 hours to get to them. I wouldn't be surprised if they see us again in the future. Thank you again Lee and the Alpha Motors team, we love our new car.
Bought a car. Agreed to collect on first of month. Phoned 30 min before arrival. Arrived to find missing staff member had taken key home and left it there. One hour later finally got car. Useless staff and service. No answer why my car key was removed from premises and car not ready for collection.

Had a few cars from alpha now and every time go above and beyond to help
Awful. spent a number of days speaking with the rudest & most unhelpful 'sales rep' L ee ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. finally, enquired on a car - sent the link to him - to confirm if it was still available, spent 2 hours going back and forth clarifying the 'deal to finally ask for a CitNOW vid & he sends me a completely different car. Save your time - go somewhere where the salesman knows what car you're actually trying to buy. FML....

Alpha Motors from Alpha Motors Ltd in response to Joke of a company
Dear Mr Smudge, May I take this opportunity to apologise for the innocent mistake Lee made in correspondence with you yesterday. I have read all the email correspondence between yourself and him from Monday 25th January. You initially enquired on a 16 plate Mercedes C220 manual Coupe priced at £16990. Lee worked on the finance figures for you and tried to get the monthly payment you had asked for. In your correspondence on Thursday 28th January, you enquired on the availability of a different vehicle a 17 plate C220 Premium Automatic Coupe. That vehicle had been previously reserved by a different customer. The reason for your question was in the link you sent Lee it clearly showed that the 17-plate car was reserved. Lee opened the link but failed to notice the vehicle had changed and was not the original enquiry as he had that one open on his desktop too. This is where the mistake happened. I understand your frustration in the crossed wires and can see the chat you and Lee had discussing the vehicle. Putting myself in your shoes I can see how you thought a good deal was being discussed on a newer higher specification vehicle with lower mileage than the one you originally enquired on at the same monthly payment. It was only when you asked for a video and he looked at the link you had sent more closely that he realised you had been discussing two different vehicles. He immediately apologised for the confusion and confirmed to you that the vehicle was reserved. May I take this opportunity myself to apologise for any disappointment caused. Having read all the correspondence over the past four days you have stated in your reviews on various platforms that Lee was the rudest & most unhelpful sales rep you had come across. To this I must disagree! In the correspondence there is nothing that makes me think Lee has in any way being rude. He answered all your question’s promptly. His language was polite and business like. He tried his best to get the monthly payment you asked for. The sentiment in the correspondence is that of two parties discussing a vehicle via email. A genuine mistake took place which was apologised for on the day. Please accept as the owner of the business our apology. If you would like to call me and discuss this further please do so, my number is 01942 231123.
