Initial contact with the dealership good, very fast at responding to messages/calls, firstly dealt with Pete who was happy to face time to show the car off before we came to view, when we came to view, again the service from Kash was good, was a bit concerned the car had a flat drivers tire & looked like it had been driven across a desert, anyway tire was pumped up and took it for a test drive, all was good, car drove lovely, no noises or knocking of any sort, Kash took us on a route that tested all roads so we could tell it drove and rode fine. Decided we would take the car, asked about service history, they didn't have it all to hand but was told it would be found it must of been in the office not in the car, but it had the history & definitely been serviced recently, twice actually within 1 month. (once at main dealer when getting some other work done and once by them only a few days before we came to look at car) and assured drivers tire would be sorted for collection. This is where things took a turn, we arranged a date to collect the car but only dependent on the service history being provided, was around 3 days of chasing them with no response.... eventually managed to speak to Pete the day before collection for him to say they have definitely got the service history and he would send over soon, but said he didn't understand why we wouldn't have the car anyway even if they didn't have any history.... Not sure anybody would buy a Range Rover with no service history at all... anyway was initially sent an invoice for some work the car had done at JLR main dealer but no mention of a service on this invoice, however, was told it was 100% done, called the JLR dealership who confirmed the repair work had been done but the car hadn't been serviced by them.... went back to Ancoats with this info, was told will be looked into and will call back, received a call to say sorry it mustn't of been done at JLR as they 'forgot' they did it in house themselves instead, asked for proof of this to be sent over then, took around 3-4 hours and more chasing for this to be sent over, when finally received very much just looked like something they had drafted up in the office there and then, as it had the date on it was sent over not the date the service was supposed to have been done and all it said was 'service' on their own invoice... Anyway we decided to still go ahead and get the car as we really liked it, it was only a few years old, not as if we was looking at a 10 year old car & all finance had been approved and paid out, and we knew we would be servicing our selves anyway & it did come with some history. On the day of collection, had the keys nearly in hand to be told they don't have the logbook for the car... was told all we would need to do is take the proof of our insurance and proof of purchase to the post office and we will be able to tax the car this way, and we would have to send off a V25 form to DVLA to get a new logbook, would cost £25 but will reimburse us if we keep receipt. Took the car went to post office to be told no they cant tax a car this way, can very rarely be able to do it, we sent off for the V25 paid the £25, called DVLA to be told would take around 4 weeks to get the new log book, there is no way we can tax the car so would need to keep it off the road for 4 weeks until we get the new log book! Obviously not happy as we had just bought a car to be told cant drive it for up to a month, called Ancoats and spoke with Mark this time round, explained situation and they told us to hang on they will sort something, received a call back a few hours later to say they had found the log book they did have it in the end & he taxed the car over the phone for us. - Thank you to Mark for this. The day after collecting came out in the morning and the driver tire flat again.... Took to quick fit and tire had a huge nail in it, luckily was able to be repaired, but car also needed tracking aligning as on the drive home from dealer noticed it pulled to the left, as shown by quick fit tech the tracking was massively out, £95.00 bill the day for tire repair and alignment, day after collection. - The tire we was told would be replaced. After this a day or 2 later we took the car to a local specialist for it to be looked over and serviced if needed as we wasn't confident it had been done as claimed by Ancoats, good news was there wasn't anything up with the car all seemed healthy, bad news, it hadn't been serviced, was shown photos of how clogged up and filthy filters and oil was that should been brand new if Ancoats had serviced.... Also needed a rear break pad so a total of a £600 bill.Contacted Pete to explain issue with tire, and for the reimbursement of the £25 for the V25 which was not needed in the end as they had the log book, initially was reluctant to refund us anything towards this, asked why we had even bothered to get the tracking realigned.... explained why due to it pulling and we had been assured by Kash the £25 would be refunded back to us, Pete negated this and advised us Kash shouldn't of told us this and if we wanted it back they would have to take out of his wages as he shouldn't of said this, no offense but not our issue who's wages it comes out of, since we had to pay it and we didn't need to as they had the log book, still reluctant to refund anything, told him what we had just had to pay at our local specialist and the fact we'd been advised no service had been done and been footed with a £600 bill that we weren't attempting to pass on, we just took it on the nose as a lesson learnt, obviously this information was disputed as was told not 'fair' for us to listen to something another garage has told us... Anyway eventually it was agreed they would refund us for the £94 for the tire and tracking and the £25 for the V25 postage. A few months into owning and some other issues have crept up, one of the motors in the wing mirror is faulty and has been since we got the car, reversing camera also stopped working (however not Ancoats fault it was due to water ingress) however, when getting car valeted was shown the quality of the paint work of the car, looked like it had either been keyed or scratched on every single panel and a cheap patchy respray had been done to cover this up as in the sun car had dull patches of over spray all over it, and on a black car looked pretty bad, another £330 spent to correct this. Might explain why the car wasn't clean when we came to view & with the commotion of the missing log book on the day of collection didn't even take time to look at the paint when it had been cleaned. All in all not a fantastic service at all, although I am ultimately happy with the car we bought and it now looks and drives fantastic I wouldn't say I would ever use Ancoats again for my next car.

Bought a Kia Sorento from them in April and my experience with Ancoats was poor. Initial contact with Kash was good and when I went to view, the car was cosmetically very well prepared. Then it all started to go wrong. I pointed out that it wasn't MOTed (Kash had forgotten to get it done), and while he claimed it has been serviced, I could see zero evidence of it (the rear wiper blade was non-existent, the air conditioning wasn't working, and I've since changed the filters and they were all filthy). But Kash promised he would send me the service record if I bought the car. It also had a mish-mash of tyres, including two different ones across the back axle - which I see as a safety issue, but Kash saw as 'personal preference'. (Since getting the car home, I also found the towbar electrics didn't work). Nevertheless, I liked the car, so I suggested a sensible price reduction to reflect the various things that needed doing. Kash said he could only give a token amount, so despite having hung around for a long time waiting for it to be MOTed, I went to leave. At this point the owner stepped in, and was more helpful. We agreed a price and I went on my way. On the way home, a warning light came on. I immediately messaged Kash with a picture and he promised it would be sorted. It turned out to be an intermittent fault with a crash sensor that had existed for some time - either Ancoats or the previous owner had hidden it (and obviously the OBD codes weren't checked during the supposed service). Thirty days later, after endless chasing, not only had there been no obvious action from Kash, but I still hadn't received the V5 or the service record. So I asked to return the car for a refund. At this point, Julienne stepped in and have to say, she was very good - friendly, approachable and got things moving. She eventually sent me to what turned out to be a terrific place to replace the failed sensor with a new Kia part. 6 months on, while I'm now very happy with the car, I would never buy from Ancoats again. It's one star for being reasonable value and one star for Julienne. It seems to be be a place that cares much more about how a car looks than whether it is mechanically sound. I've bought three used cars this year. My experience with Ancoats was the worst by a very long way - way more aggro and issues than the other two cars combined. I finally got the V5 12 weeks after buying the car (I ended up reporting it to the DVLA, who were very clear the issue wasn't at their end). I never got any evidence of the phantom pre-purchase service.

Professional looking website but this is not the case when you arrive and definitely not worth travelling. Research them first. My car was supposed to be freshly MOT'd. Hand brake didn't work, had x2 large cracks on windscreen, Wipers blades needed replaced, brake pads and discs went within 500miles after purchase. It looked like it had been driving around the deserts on collection day, needed a full vallet. Certainly not a prestige garage. Alarm bells were ringing when when I collected the car, but I had travelled a long way and already paid £500 deposit. A £500 was deduction was agreed for the cracked windscreen but they expected me to just make a fraudulent insurance claim instead. Omar was getting quiet confrontational, I was struggling to keep my cool with him and it was a very stressful purchase. The service light came on a day after purchase, they were ment to email me the service record they claimed it had on purchase but could not provide me with any evidence that it had been serviced. I took it to a local garage for a service at my expense and they showed me filters they changed and they were Mercedes Dealership filters from 2 years ago absolutely pitted. There was no way the car was Serviced before I purchased it. You'll also not that all the cars come with red brake calibres, black gloss alloys and tinted windows to jazz them up. The brake pads are seized into the calibres clogged up with red paint, the black gloss on the alloys chips off in pieces and the window tints aren't just illegal but they're covered in bubbled and peal off when you wind your window down. Honestly avoid this garage at all costs!! out to make a quick quid! Wish I'd never bought the thing. I spent over £1000 in the first 5 months putting the car right.

ADAMU Umoru from Ancoats Car Sales in response to AVOID

We recently purchased a car from here. In general the car was fine but it was mentioned to us the car handbrake had been ‘stick’ which was a weird thing to say but didn’t think anything of it. A day later the breaks started making a god awful noise. Contacted the garage and gave us the number of a garage they use. So we tried to book it in but couldn’t do it for 2 weeks. So we went to a garage near us and asked them to look and it needed new break pads all round and the Calipers had been painted to the point of sticking to the wheel. We had a cost of £80 so contacted the garage to let them know so they could pay the bill and they said oh we can get it done cheaper so get the garage you have taken it to to put it back together and bring it here. I mean it’s £80!! And I could have paid it but it’s the principle when the MoT that they had done should Have picked up it needing new pads. And they wouldn’t even pay out £80! And then the car was advertised as having 2 keys which of course they would have used to get a better selling point on the car. One didn’t work surprise surprise so they said they would I get one for us, we went to have it costed at £149 and they refused to pay for that. Now I know these are only minor things and people on here are a lot worse than me but for the sake of £229 to keep a customer happy considering the car was paid for in cash - a lot do money we have been treated ridiculously. I can see they only care about getting their money then don’t care after , every garage should give 3 Month warranty and there’s is not worth the paper it’s written on. I will be going to trading standards and autotrader re the warranty situation. And the owner is actually Omar even Though the pretend it’s not him.’

Customer service is ridiculous here, not worth the visit. Owner lacks manners and is prejudice against those of colour. He was more interested in informing us that he has two million pounds worth of stock and was ‘doing well for himself’ than in selling his stock. You should wear a face mask if you’re worried about the pandemic and stand two metres away. Booking a test drive for a car that someone could have potentially bought should be the least of your worries.
Honestly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Originally I wanted to collect the car from Ancoats so I had time to sort out the tax and insurance. I was pressured in to having the car delivered to me on the Friday. I told them I wanted to wait until I had time to tax and insure the car. I was told the car was taxed and I would be given 7 days drive away insurance. When the car was delivered I asked for proof of insurance. The guy said he would send it later on. When I didn’t receive the insurance I messaged and was told that I was put on his traders insurance which was a flat out lie. I also discovered the car wasn’t taxed! I was put at risk of losing my license if the police had pulled me over. A few days later I discovered a plastic clip was snapped off from the boot tray. This is needed so I could put my roof up and down with it being convertible. I contacted them several times about it but was told over and over again that somebody would phone me back they never did! 5 months later the roof stopped working and would only go up half way. I took it to a garage to find out the battery was sat in a few inches of water. The motor was damaged as a result of water ingress and had caused corrosion to the fuses. The seals had not been fitted on the rear lights correctly and the air vent also wasn’t fitted correctly. Which proves this was an issue before buying the car. I contacted the garage several times about this. Again being told to wait for a call back. When I did eventually speak to them they were so rude and unhelpful and made me take it down the legal route as I was covered under the consumer rights act. Ancoats agreed to pay for the roof motor and labour. I was told to pay for the roof motor and that I would be reimbursed once I provided recipes of purchase. Guess what still no money in my bank account. Yet they have managed to pay the garage the labour costs. This just shows how spiteful and unprofessional they are. Please look somewhere else for a car and don’t make the same mistake I did!
