Just had my car evaluated as both rear wheel bearings causing MAJOR road noise. Was told by their Tech guy on a test run there was NO noise. So went on a test drive together, the whole time the car sounded like a bus and the guy INSISTED ..... "what noise" Unbelievable. I should also state the faulty bearings has already been identified by another company. Its OK I will now have the car repaired by someone that has the tiniest slice of competence. Unbelievable. However lesson learned. NEVER get another car from Arnold Clark

All parts of the car I highlighted were fixed to perfection without me leaving my house. The issues raised were resolved quickly. Ross Owen dealt with the aforementioned. Found him helpful, polite managed the process well.

Imagine a salesperson delivers a car to your house to see a car and credit checks you after knocking back a car and says in a call “” you failed credit anyway so no chance of a dearer car anyway “”” Meet greig in east kilbride
Choose Peter Vardy, Parks Motor Group, Cinch, Cazoo or even Arthur Daley but no I chose this lot not someone else. An absolute shower of excrement to be polite, so June 2 I'm off work its sunny so out in the garden, have left on car sites am looking for a certain Suzuki Swift Sport close to home. Happily one appears here so finish lawn, weeding and that stuff, Make my way there a 25 minute drive so I can see the car. All near enough good wheels were rough but a common problem on this model so just need a powder-coat. Then it all goes a wee bit wrong enter product consultant Greig , how we doing and are you looking for a car? I tell him yes this one the usual chat about trade in plus £500 extra makes this a great deal. So let me get your settlement figure on your car , sorry I cant office is closed Jubilee celebrations so will get this tomorrow for you and give you a call to update and also we can get you into this car tomorrow 5:30pm if you want. Greig then tells me this is his day off but in for a few other deliveries leave happy. Friday the 3rd comes and goes no calls, text messages (Clark sends SMS messages to update) or no email either. I had already switched insurance at lunchtime for 5:30pm as expected new car good to go- it wasn't so have to switch back to maintain cover that was £25 each way. I think well maybe Greig was held up or never got round will discuss on Saturday as he's sure to call me then, wait around and he doesn't so am left confused, kicker is he also has a Sunday off too. I think maybe he's passed this to say sales manager or someone else, oh no he didn't. Sunday 5th send email to Grieg to say as far as I'm concerned deal is off no contact at all given I have to switch insurance and back and no clue what he's doing called it as over. Am in work Monday 6th and get reply to say as far as he's concerned car is good to go and wants to conclude the transaction ASAP. Mmmm where were you all weekend and why should I come back in now you wasted my weekend , cost me money and more importantly didn't even call despite your protests Greig I know you didn't. My phone is 1 year old and EE gave it an MOT asked them to check in case I had missed anything so nowt on call logs, showed last SMS from Clark which was Seat Glasgow North for my last car so who did you message then? This is then end with Arnold Clark for me or so I thought, it just got worse today 18th received a letter from them telling me I had been declined for finance on 3rd by two different finance companies, strange that as have a very detailed email from Greig dated 6th telling me car was taxed and registered to me and ready to go, So declined on 3rd but on 6th implored by a product consultant to conclude deal with no finance in place , I smell BS here. Someone needs to have a word with FCA how could I conclude a car deal where finance has been declined for me according to Arnold Clark? I already had decided will never use them again because of the radio silence issues , their trade in was £1000 leass than one I have now and for better specced car with lower mileage also finance went through instantly. Oh and you still haven't returned my deposit too Greig. There is basic competence and decency then there is knowing your sh*t however Greig you really know you're sh*t. Lied or over committed or over sold your abilities to deliver, told lies, and then wanted to do a deal without finance being in place, sale manager must love you. Am glad I missed out here will never cross threshold of Arnold Clark again. Greig you truly are the Pinocchio of car sales sorry you wasted my time and please be a decent chap and return my deposit to me.
Yet again, it was time to change my car and I went back to this branch as staff I and management have always been courteous, patient and on hand to answer any questions. Once again I dealt with Ross Owen, who was his usual polite and happy self. Ross ensured transaction went smoothly and couldn't have been more helpful as was Alan Aikman his Sales Manager. I have bought numerous cars from this branch over the years and have always dealt with the same people. Would highly recommend this branch for your next car and I am sure you will not be disappointed. Also, Colin the Branch Manager is always on hand to answer any additional queries. All in all another great experience, thanks lads.

I bought a 2015 plate Ford Fiesta from Scott Robertson from here middle of February. I went through on 14 Feb to pick it up all the way from Fife. My partner left in her car and left me to drive my new car home but within half an hour of driving home, I felt the car wasn’t right at all and I noticed that the engine management light was on. I stopped and phoned Scott and he told be to bring it back so they could look at it. I then spent the best part of 4hrs sitting in their repair and servicing department. They eventually said they would need more time to look at it as they couldn’t diagnose the problem. I was given a courtesy car to drive home in, getting home late evening. I got the car back on 20 February and they said it was repaired (something to do with one of the valves). Anyway, between going on holiday then having to isolate for 14 days, I hardly drove the car for about 5 weeks after getting it back. Then one day in late March the engine management light came on again and the car seemed to be struggling. By this time the Arnold Clark branches had closed due to COVID-19 but I was happy to see there was a customer service number I could call. I called the number but was told that there’s nothing that could be done till the branches re-opened. I was worried that I was going to damage the car by driving it so I took it to a professional mechanic to have it checked. He diagnosed the problem within half an hour (bearing in mind EaSt Kilbride motor store had it for 4.5 days before supposedly fixing it). He said that he did a compression test on the cylinders and one of them was basically knackered. He estimates £500-600 to repair as it’s a complex job. I am unwilling to pay this as this should be covered under my warranty. He also warned me about driving the car as I could end up damaging the catalytic converter. So here I am with my car having been off the road for weeks now, not knowing when I am going to get the car repaired. All in all, a pretty horrible experience and I would strongly advise to be very wary of buying a car from here. I understand that the branch closures could not be helped but my issue is that they sold me a faulty car and failed to carry out proper tests and repairs which to me appears to have been an already existing problem which they may well have known about. I won’t be buying another car from East Kilbride Motor Store.

Avoid Stephen at all time and his Sales manager too.In order to secure a sale Stephen lied with impunity and has only recently been found out. When i spoke with his sales manager Alan regarding this matter he lied too regarding new laws relating to car trade.Still waiting for confirmation by email. However i doubt this will ever happen. Seems to be the normal behaviour in my opinion.Once they have your money they could not care less.

took my car back to arnold clark east kilbride motorstore under warranty. as i thought i had a fault with boot not locking. turned out there was nothing wrong with it. it is a standard feature on that model. when you approach car with keys in your pocket it automatically opens boot, not doors. I was charged £40 for the privilege of been told so. I expressed my displeasure at being charged for nothing as they done nothing to car. I asked to speak to manager and was told he was not available and would phone me next day which he did not. phoned again net day got absolutely nowhere. still not spoke to manager. there after care service is none existent. this is my seventh car I have bought from arnold clark, can asure you it is my last. I spent £14000 and they have the cheek to charge me £40 for SFA.
