Heard mixed things about Arnold Clark’s,but due to the range they carry I thought I’d check them out. Picked out my car on Saturday after a test drive put £100 deposit down. Returned on Monday to pay balance and drove my very smart Audi away🚘 whole process was very smooth and hassle free. I was lured into taking a test drive because I was told my reserve would run out and other people were on a waiting list to see the car and it would get sold if I didn’t come. So, I came to Leyland Arnold Clark from Birmingham hoping to test drive and take away the car. Customer assistant (Adam Lamb) and manager (Mike) both told me the car was in need of work, cambelt needed changing amongst other things and it would take a few days to get that sorted first before a deal could be made. We eventually agreed to wait after test driving the car, although not 100% happy. We said we didn't want to travel again so we asked if it could be a click and collect process. They then said it may not be eligible for click and collect. Click and collect was clearly stated in the advert. They took my reserve and promised to ring me back with further information about the car but they failed to. I waited an extra day and they still hadn’t got back to me. I rang them on the third day asking them for my reserve back but they said they will ring me back later. Later they rang and shifted blame. They then said manager will ring me but he failed to again. I then got an email to say the reserve is on its way back to me. I was so disappointed I had travelled to see a car that they showed me a preview video of but did not tell me it required work?! I thought Arnold Clarke were a reputable company but clearly these workers have no respect for the brand.
A deposit was put down during the covid19 lockdown. As soon as the dealership opened the deal made over the phone had gone past the allotted time. However as they were closed during lockdown they extended the deal for us. They wouldn't allow us to test drive the car and wouldn't deliver it so that I too could see the car. They consequently sent us a video to review online. The girl who presented the video informed the alloys where in 'very good condition'. The guy who did the deal told us it hadn't been a smokers car which was a deal breaker for us as we are all non smokers. BOTH LIED and cheated us to get a deal. my husband picked the car up from the garage drove it home and contacted them straight away to say all the alloys where scrapped all the way around each alloy which he had not noticed when he collected the car and as the staff had all the car doors open the car smelt like something he couldn't put his finger on. My husband then had to drive all the way home with the windows down because the smell of smoke was so bad with the windows closed. When he took the documents out of the car, all our hands smelt of smoke. Yet the guy from Arnold Clark informed us that same morning we collected the car late afternoon before the deal was made that the guy whom valets the cars had confirmed it had definitely not been a smokers car. Even though we contacted them just shy of an hour later the same day they have refused to take the car back. They lied to us and cheated us of £7000. DO NOT believe or trust anything they say. The staff will say anything to get a deal. The car was bought on the trust of Arnold Clarks reputation as we had previously bought a car from the Preston branch, with what they had promised i.e. alloys in 'very good condition' and the fact it wasn't a smokers car. I would not recommend using these lying cheats. Be warned if you buy a car from them.

Kyle at Arnold Clark Leyland Motorstore was great helping us to find the perfect car. I was kept up to date with what was happening and recieved excellent customer service. I liked the fact when we purchased the car and was ready to take it home the manager thanked us and was very friendly and helpful. When leaving with our car we had another friendly member from the team who talked us through the inside of the car.

I am very dissatisfied with the quality of customer service Leyland Arnold Clark Motorstore. I was looking to buy a 2015 Ford Focus on a PCP finance scheme, initially I had arranged to view the car with Graham at 18:30, however on arrival I was palmed off to another sales college called Harry. Harry did not accompany me on my test drive as I was taken out by a different employee. This employee did not explain anything about the car, even when prompted by myself asking if all the controls on the dash/steering wheel worked. After returning to the dealership I informed Harry that I would still like to go ahead with the PCP. As he took my details he also asked me to provide a guarantor, however he did not state why one was required, then set up a collection for the following day at 4pm. I had not heard back from Harry the following day and as I was about to drive down to the dealership at 15:30 I decided to call ahead to make sure I didn't waste the journey. It was fortunate that I did as when the receptionist answered the phone she said Harry was not in on the day and that my finance application was still being considered. She said she was unable to tell me why it was taking so long and that they would call me back. I waited until 18:30 and had still not been called so I rang the dealership again. This time I was passed to Sam who informed me that the reason for the delay was that the finance department needed me to provide the last 3 months bank statements from my guarantor. I asked who I should send the statements to and was told to email them to Adam the branch manager. I managed to send the statements at 18:47 which was considerably difficult as my guarantor is not computer literate. I received a reply at 18:56 from Adam acknowledging he had received them. The following day I once again I had to inquire as to the status of my finance application having not heard anything. I called at 12:28 and was passed to Harry, he informed me that my statements had STILL not been sent. He did however state that seeing as the finance department asked for the statement it was very likely it would be approved and that he would call back in 5 minutes once he had my files open. 40 minutes later I get an email (not a phone call) saying the he would be out of the branch for the afternoon, but he had sent the statements and would update me as soon as he heard anything. At 15:29 Harry called to say my guarantor had not been accepted but did not provide an reasons as to why, I asked if my deposit would be returned if there was no alternative and he stated that I would get it back if that was the case. He then asked if there was anyone else at the same address I could use. I said I would have to call him back as I was quite confused as to why my guarantor had been refused. I called back at 15:48 and gave the details of another guarantor. The following day at 11:41 I was told that my new guarantor was also unacceptable. Harry then told me that a hire plan was my only option left, however he was very reluctant to provide me with any details. I said I would need some time to think about it and would call him back. I tried to call back at 13:15 but was told Harry was once again unavailable but would call me back but has yet to do so, an entire day afterwards. Not only have I invested a considerable amount of time and effort into something that has been a complete farce, but my credit score has also been affected as multiple credit checks have now been carried out for myself and my two different guarantors, which I was NOT told would decrease my credit score. I am furious with the amount to phone calls I have been required to make just to acquire an update or to be told something the previous person simply did not, further increasing the time required. I am utterly surprised at how poorly this entire experience has been handled. I will not be coming to Arnold Clark for anything in the future and will strongly advise anyone else to stay clear of this absolute travesty of a dealership.

Had nothing but trouble from the get go, need to change tyre but can’t as no key, but paperwork says it was given so it must of been, NOT shambles of a company, don’t care about their customers, will make sure all friends avoid
I bought a Nissan Juke back in August. The whole experience wasn't great, the customer service wasn't all their and the car could have been in a lot better condition. based on my experience I probably wouldn't recommend.

I would absolutely recommend Arnold Clark Motorstore in Leyland to anyone, they were excellent overall to deal with. I purchased my car which is a Citroen Picasso only a few weeks ago so I am in a good position to comment how things went. I would return, thank you Arnold Clark.
