We bought a Mercedes from AT AUTOS in September 2021. Due to a major mechanical problem the car was never delivered and our refund was never returned. To resolve the issue we accepted an alternative replacement Mercedes but after an independent mechanical/ electronic check over the car needed at least £2500 to get it up to a road worthy condition. We rejected the car We are now in March 2022 and still no refund has been given to us. I've taken AT AUTOS, now trading as Zoom Away to the Small Claims Court. AT Autos/ Zoom Away failed to respond to the court notice and a default judgement is now being issued against the business. Avoid this business at all costs?? Ps. The original Mercedes that we bought and never received any refund for is now back up on sale on the ZoomAway website/ forecourt.

Hi Chris, sorry to hear about your experience. We have also had a very similar one with these guys, we are going through the small claims court now. Any chance we can contact you to see how you are getting on with your claim?

Hi. I can't discuss the details as it's leagally confidential but I can advice you? Contact Citizens Advice and ask for legal advice and get a case file as all the info will be passed onto the local Trading Standards Call the Action Fraud Police line to make a complaint. If they consider any possible fraud they will put it on their data base which might lead them to investigate. If no fraud is considered they will keep the info and ask you for any updates which will detect patterns of behaviour which might flag up possible fraud? The more people complain the better? Follow the guidance when applying to the small claims. Make sure you have gone through with the recommended guidence, that's why it's important to contact Citizens Advice and read the advice on the Money Claims website to build a strong case? Hope this is helpful. Ta!

Hi Chris, We are still going with the small claims court. We have had a some personal issues to deal with while this case has been ongoing which has delayed the application. The small claims court have said we definitely have a case and a reason to push forward. We have reached the stage of filling out a ‘Request for Warrant of Control’ form (N323) so that bailiffs can visit the address of AT Autos/ZoomAway. They are not promising anything but it seems like the best chance we’ve got. Hope you have kept on pursuing your case too. Thanks, Gavin
Oh my god.. avoid please avoid these people. Do believe anything they say. They have owed me money for 3 months.... stay away

Hi Gavin. Did you have any luck in the small claims court?
They will bend over backwards to sell you a car, but if there is any problems they will fob you off and ignore you. Do not buy from these scammers.

Hi, did you ever get this sorted? We have had to take legal action on the fella because he owes us about 2 grand after selling us a faulty car.

What seemed to be a nice and honest car dealership turned out to be a nightmare. It has been 6 weeks of constant insistence and I am still owed my £500 deposit. The dealer keeps playing tricks and making a fool out of me - I have lost count of how many times he promised that the refund had been done: "tomorrow morning", he says. "Within 3 business days", "early next week"... Forget it, an ever-ending circle (or so he'd wish). Onto the small claims court now...

Doing the same to me to. In the small claims court with this conman. Whatever you do, don't deal with this liar and thief. Hope he rots in hell

Hi. Out of interest. Did you get your money back? He owes me £4000 and it's now in the courts.?
Filipe P in response to Beware: Lying thieves. Stay well clear
Hi Chris. I did get my money back after I promised to post negative reviews everywhere possible, and later fulfilling that promise. Many of them have been deleted since that was his condition for returning my deposit... I would suggest making as much noise about it as possible, to make him consider that returning your money costs his business less. I did not get to the small claims court thankfully, but that sounds like a good solution too. I'm sorry you have to deal with this criminal, and wish you luck with it.

Hi. Did you have any luck in the small claims court? Did you find out any names of the individuals who run the business or did you just name the business on the claim form? Ta! Chris
