I bought a car, Vauxhall Insignia, with a dealer called Auto channel on 27-02-2016. I got a loan from carfinance247 to buy this car. Initially carfinace247 told me that they stopped working with this dealer and refused to tell me the reason. I saw the car on auto channel on 14-02-2016 and informed carfinance247 about the car. They initially told me that they had stopped dealing with this dealer. I. However they changed their mind and authorised the car on 27-2-2016. The car was advertised with 1 year MOT and 6 months warranty. It was also mentioned in the advert the tyres were in condition was good. The price of the car was £ 4400. I paid an extra £50 to extend the warranty to one year. So the total price of the car was £4450. I paid £50 myself and £4400 was paid by the loan company. When I viewed the car on 14-02-2016 the car looked fine and the tyres looked in good condition as advertised. When I picked up the car on 27-02-2016 and brought the car home we noticed the air in the tyres was low and when we put air in and at closer inspection we noticed cracks in the tyres. There was also some nuts/equipment left in the car which suggested someone did something with the car tyres. I informed the dealer immediately and questioned them about the tyre condition and told them the tyres were supposed to be in good condition and how come there were cracks in them. Their response was “we never advertised the tyre as new”. Their response made me uneasy and made me immediately regret buying this car from them. I have to put air in the tyres every week. I was scared to drive the car to long distances even though I bought the car to drive between London and Plymouth. I was also not sure whether it was legal to drive the car with those tyres. I was scared to drive in the car long distance so I couldn’t take it back to the dealer since I have to drive through the motorway and they are around 20 miles away from my home. I explained this to them and asked them to come and collect the car but they refused. While I was having issues with the tyres I went to my local Tesco on (28-05-2016) and I had trouble starting the car. I called the RAC and they came and started the car and told me that the battery is low and the car needed a new battery. I realised at this point that this dealer really cheated me and thought to myself that whatever carfinance247 hid about this dealer they should have told me. (07-06-2016) a huge plume of smoke came from the engine and water started leaking from the engine (coolant leaking). The dealer did not do anything with the car for two weeks. They told me that the mechanic was on holiday. On 20th June I spoke to one of the other dealer and he said “that here was nothing wrong with the engine and they can’t do anything about the car” which surprised and angered me. On the same day I wrote to carfince247 and complained about the dealer. On 21-06-2016 I spoke to the dealer and they said “the car has electrical problem and their mechanic doesn’t deal with electrical problems and their warranty doesn’t cover electrical problems”. I informed carfinace247 about this conversation. When I rang the dealer on 23-06-2016 they told me told me that the car is ready for collection. I asked about the tyres they said “you come and we will talk about it”. I realised that they just wanted me to take the car from them. I also suspected the work they did on the car. I refused to pick up the car until I knew about the legality of the tyres. They told me if I didn’t come and pick up the car they would park it in the road and put the keys inside for me to collect”. I again informed carfinace247 about this conversation. Since there was no response from carfinace247 despite all my e-mails I was very fed-up with them and told them if they don’t respond I will cancel the direct debit. They replied and asked for evidence for my claims which made me angry and disappointed with them. It was obvious from the response from the dealer that they tried everything to cheat me and make me take the faulty car. On 24-06-2016 I received an e-mail from carfinace247 saying that they had assigned as the case handler and she would lead the investigation. On 28-06-2016 sent an e-mail. In her e-mail she mentioned t “ the dealership has supplied images of your current tyres and this would suggest that they are currently within legal specification. This would indicate that at the point of sale the tyres were of satisfactory quality”. So she asked me to go and collect the car. With her response I thought the dealer fooled her or she was taking the dealer’s side blindly because of my race. Obviously she did not read any of the e-mails I had sent before making a decision. The dealer sent some images of some tyres and straight away she closed the case which was a joke. I wrote to her on 28-06-2016 and said that I am very disappointed about the way she handled my complaint. She closed the case before speaking to me. I have been sending e-mails and making phone calls for 8 days and she tried my number one afternoon and when she couldn't reach me she made her conclusion and closed my complaint without talking to me On 29-06-2016 she wrote and told me “I liaised with the mechanics and the inspectors who have assessed the tyres, images have also been sent to us which would suggest the tyres are within legal specification. She also mentioned that when selling a used vehicle, the dealerships responsibility is to ensure the items are within legal specification and as long as the tyres meet this , they are unable to support that the tyres were sold in a unsatisfactory condition”. She was adamant and I realised that she is hopeless and had decided to support the dealer whether they were right or wrong. I asked on several occasions why carfinace247 was initially not happy to go with this dealer but she continuously ignored my question. On 29-06-2016 I asked to ask the dealer to do another MOT on the vehicle since I suspected that the car might fail the MOT test and they might have made changes to the car since it passed the MOT test just before they sold the car. Since I didn’t receive any information about the repair and the MOT test result I wrote to her on 05-07-2016 and told her that I am not prepared to take this car from this dealer since I don’t trust them anymore.

Since I didn’t receive any information about the repair and the MOT test result I wrote to her on 05-07-2016 and told her that I am not prepared to take this car from this dealer since I didn’t trust them anymore. In reply she told me that the car failed the MOT test and she still insisted that I should take the car back. Since I found out that the car failed the MOT on tyres I decided I had enough with this dealer and car finace247 and refused to take the car back since it was too dangerous for us to travel in the car.
Friendly helpful would definitely recommend

Advert stated that rhe vehicle came with 12 months MOT. I was informed that the day after purchase the MOT was being carried out. After leaving and driving the car home I saw the MOT certificate that was in fact dated 3 months before date of purchase! So vehiclr came with 9 months MOT and not 12! Vehicle was advertised as an eco flex, however since found out that it is in fact not an echo flex. 2 days after purchase the vehicle had to be taken back for a fault when driving. I was given a courtesy car that had 2 flat tyres and so I had to pump them up a lot in the week I had it. Just has to replace break pads after only having the vehicle 2 months!
