From start to finish we were given time to view , discuss , and choose our car in a calm and unhurried environment. When Roger approached us I knew we were in safe hands , he explained each aspect of the car leaving us in no doubt we were making a good choice. The paperwork side of things was again explained to us indeed even dealing with our congestion charge . A very professional team handling the sale in a relaxed yet efficient way , I would have no hesitation in recommending them and indeed will visit again in the future .

"Vehicle FAULTS and POOR After Sales Care"

Resolving issues

Alarm System Service warning as soon as car was started. Naively unperturbed and following reassurances during the 5 minute test drive route about Motor Village’s willingness to help customers sort any problems out, I purchased the car at the asking price. I was then suitably impressed when the salesman drew my attention to the MAXIMUM warranty CLAIM LIMIT of £200 (!) once they had my money and I was about to leave. Then discover within a few hours a Rear Door was NOT locking. No problem, they said, yes take the car to Volvo and obtain an estimate, so I did - REJECTED. Once they had the £427 estimate suddenly they are talking about second hand parts, further estimates and finding a garage with a £60/hr labour rate. Where we live finding a reliable garage that charges £60/hr requires time travel. To move things forward I agreed if they ordered me a new lock actuator, which they did directly from CHINA, 6000 miles away - it never arrived. Anticipating delays/problems I ordered my own actuator and spent an afternoon fitting it, made a £120 claim for my time - REJECTED. But you said you’d wait for the part from CHINA and where is your estimate and VAT invoice? Motor Village generously offered to issue a refund for the actuator I had ordered but ONLY if they were able to receive a refund for the part they’d ordered from CHINA that never arrived! Let’s refund you £69 and bring this matter to a close they said, after all we had to fit a new tyre to that Honda (!) - The car I’d traded in as SCRAP!! Alarm Service Fault fortunately just a couple more hours of work; removing the wheel, wheel arch liner, unbolting the siren, angle grinding it open, soldering in replacing rechargeable batteries and glueing it all back together. Didn’t even bother speaking to them about this after the door lock actuator debacle. And - No Car User Manual supplied, had to call within minutes of driving away. They organised a pdf replacement, but text is so small you’d need a bionic eye to read it. A happy ending but only if you enjoy watching YouTube repair videos, ordering your own parts, have a decent set of tools and don’t expect any recompense for your time and effort taken to undertake repairs :) Will certainly NEVER USE Motor Village Bristol again.

I am in the process of bringing Auto Village Bristol to court! He has no morals. His word means nothing. Waiting since last June for him to send me £100 as a so called "Goodwill" gesture! Brought car back to Ireland in good faith. His Salesman even took the the Jack and Brace out of boot while I was in Office paying him! Probably 50 calls to his Manager James to settle this. If James. Said it was raining outside I would take a look!! He thinks I will go away. Avoid this So called dealer please. Anyone want pictures of tyre that was on car I will send them photos. His wife apologised but never sent cheque!!

We are in the same process. We took him to court. Was ruled in our favour but he still owes us over £1000. And he has seemed to of disappeared off the face of the earth! Hope you had better luck

Ditto. Took him to court and won. He didn't show. He owes me almost £3500. Is now currently trading from the same address with a new company called CJ Autos Ltd. Auto Village Bristol is still registered. The net is closing.

James (the boss) endeared himself to me immediately by giving me the keys and the paperwork and then leaving me to look at the car in my own time, without pestering me. He sorted the test drive immediately - again leaving me to it, no hard sell or breathing down my neck - and was polite and respectful throughout. He accepted a reasonable offer and we completed the sale quickly. The car was exactly as advertised and he was clearly honest. Very, very happy with the car and the dealer. Thoroughly recommended
