Long story short I bought a BMW 540i from Autoline of Loughborough to find out it had valve stem seal issues which costs £2500 to replace. Dealer did not want to pay out anything, even though i offered to pay half to get it fixed. He just wanted to take the car back to resell it to someone else who may not notice the problem with a little oil treatment additive. After 12 weeks of being without a car he finally had to buy the car back from me with the help of Zuto but even then Zuto dragged it out by misleading me into believing they would pay for the repair and claim it from the dealer at a later date. In the end he had to buy the car back due to the problem. According to the dealer there was no problem even though the car was puffing out a huge cloud of smoke after sitting idle for a couple of mins. Had a diagnostic check done by 2 different technicians who both said the same thing. But yet the dealer still said there was no issue. Dealer also sold me the car with a punctured tyre and refused to replace it, I did not notice at first as it was a run flat. Dealer said it could have happened on the way home. Not possible as after inflating it the tyre took 2 weeks to go back down. Which meant it was a slow puncture and he reset the tyre monitor before selling the car to me. Seriously this dealer can not be trusted.
matthew spowage in response to DO NOT BUY THE BMW 540i YC56 LHV...
Hello. I'm really sorry to be reading this. I bought that same car from that same dealer in August of 2017. I also had it independently diagnosed as having valve stem seal failure. I escaped after selling the car back to this dealer for £2,000 less than I paid for it. I am sorry because I thought this might happen and I should have left a review. Perhaps we should talk.
clive from Autoline Of Loughborough in response to DO NOT BUY THE BMW 540i YC56 LHV...
in response to your review im sure you have heard this saying before "dont believe everything you read " we sell hundreds of cars and its only the customers that have a problem feel they need to share it, regarding the vehicle massive cloud of smoke? im sure you would of noticed it on the test drive and we put the car through an mot and emission test which it passed, this dragged on because of the finance company not us! zuto may have mislead you in thinking they would repair it and claim the money off us but due to our workshop report and video evidence zuto felt they didnt have a strong enough case as this is a 12 year old car and fit for purpose the vehicle has never broken down or let you down gets you from a to b safely. however we have a good relationship with zuto finance and fund many cars for our customers so we agreed to buy the vehicle back from zuto finance(the owner of the vehicle) to keep everyone happy, as to the puncture this is the first time you have mentioned this, its a shame there isnt a review page for dealers to leave about customers as this customer still hasnt sent me the v5 and service history for the car , also your review gives 1 star for knowledge 1 star for cleanliness 1 star for value for money 1 star for resolving issues, i know everything about the car you purchased and answered every question so 1 star incorrect , 1 star for cleanliness the car was stunning not a mark on it so 1 star incorrect , 1 star for value for money this was the cheapest in the country!! so 1 star incorrect, 1 star for resolving issues i purchased the car back from the finance company!!! so 1 star incorrect, so not really a true and accurate review!!
Bought our Volvo couple of weeks ago, very happy with it , lovely car, Clive was a pleasure to deal with, no pressure sales, really nice guy, Would recommend Autoline, Thank you,
Not being one to normally leave reviews I felt compelled to ensure all potential car buyers do their homework on Autoline Of Loughborough and be very wary of their old tricks (after all he has 25 years honing his tricks and boy didn't we see it come out in all its glory!) Bought a car from Clive and explained what I was after, and was assured it had passed its MOT as per the certificate- mistake 1 don't take the MOT certificate from autoline of loughborough to mean it is roadworthy. Within 2 days the exhaust had fallen off (corrosion and verified by a mechanic who fixed it that it had been like that for a long time and not the result of driving over a speed bump as suggested by Clive), rear spring broken (again heavily corroded and independently verified by a mechanic that this had been broken for sometime, and not the result of a speedbump), and the EMS light came on and shut down the engine everything the car drove at 70 mph on the motorway. All this from a car with an MOT passed 3 weeks earlier...!!?? Mistake 2 - don't believe Clive when he says he has driven the car extensively as a local runabout and that there are no problems with it which he has experienced. Mistake 3: trust your instincts and look beyond the tweed cap and fake leather jacket when the guy can't even look you in the eye when it comes time to seek appropriate recourse for the repairs/faulty car which is not fit for the road. I received nothing but accusations from Clive, varying from 'trying it on with him' (to which he surprisingly claims happens all the time) to my integrity in that (I can't prove the broken spring was from my car and it could be from anywhere...). Clive used all his wriggle room and 25 yrs of excuses in avoiding me until I turned up on his doorstep with said broken spring only to see him run off to his car and hide - hardly the behaviour of a credible used car salesman trading on the service cues of a supposed 25 year track record. For all my troubles I received a cheque in the post for £40 - enough said.

There's defo no tweed cap or leather jacket here!! Ok we sell lots of cars and unfortunately cars do get problems it's only the people that are not happy feel they need to leave a bad review over 200 cars sold last year, this particular customer took delivery after a test drive no mention at all of any noise you would expect to hear if you had a broken spring and the vehicle had just been in for a mot which they would of 100% checked , so out of good will I gave him 50% contribution for the spring , no other problems have been reported to me so can't help fix what I don't know about !! And the vehicle came with a MTHS warranty

After receiving numerous phone calls from Clive In response to my earlier review I would like to clarify for the purposes of accuracy that the cheque was for £57.50 and not £40 as earlier stated. Apologies Clive but I must have overlooked this amidst the greater stresses the car has caused me - but thank you for pointing it out.

Well I'm glad to see you are starting to back track on your review and the amount you received you have now changed one of many lies , I'm sure people can see your review is not credible

Let us not detract from the car issues - slightly understating token gesture by £17 does not mask the significant car problems - no lies, just disappointed with the car and subsequent responses!
Great cars at great prices, Very clean and well presented. Autoline of Loughborough arranged finance , warranty and part exchange great service.
Bought a car from Autoline of Loughborough and within 2 weeks finding major issues, I knew about a couple of problems as mentioned on invoice and price reflected these , took my car in for wheel bearings and on collecting my car was told by the garage that I have a major oil leak, contacted auto line and told that car was a private sale and therefore have no rights, 10 months of savings taken from me and now have no car.
Clive from Autoline Of Loughborough in response to Be aware of this trader
This customer has a purchased a trade car sold Spairs or repairs as it had a number of problems I decided not to retail it , it was sold at a reduced price because of this , I have a garage check sheet showing the problems including the oil leak present and the customers friend came to check over the vehicle (who is a mechanic ) said he would fix it for him , clearly sold as Spairs or repair stated on the invoice customer knew excacltly what he was buying , I have suggested he gets the mechanic that checked it over for him to use some of the money saved buying it cheap to get it looked at , and you do still have a car ! funny how he forgot to add all the fine detail there's always to sides to a story !!!!!!!!

Also ticking 1 star for cleanliness this is not accurate you said this is one of the nicest ones you have seen. 1 star for knowledge not accurate answered all you questions and know everything about these vehicles. giving me 1 star for everything just because your not happy dosnt give a accurate review.
I visited this dealership and purchased a Range Rover in September. The car did not live up to expectation and I have had a lot of issues with it. The dealer has repaired some of them after I took matter further but there were still things left that I had to pay out for. I am very disappointed and I would definitely not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Sorry you feel that way ,as far as we are aware all problems have been sorted through the owner of the vehicle zuto finance and they are more than happy with the vehicle and continue to fund vehicles with us, any further problems I'm sure the warranty company can help.
Pleasure to do business with Autoline of Loughborough. I didn't get the details of the warranty and didn't realise it at first but when i called up the bloke sorted it immediately, cannot fault the service one bit. Overall a great place to buy a used car from because they are good cars at good prices.
