bought Porsche waited 3 weeks for them to "prep car and check it " after i collected it still had faults then 2 days later broke down.They refused to refund my money said they would fix it 3 weeks later no car and no refund autopoint york is shocking worst car dealer ever cowboys stay clear still no car or money back as of now!

I have never come across such a dodgy garage. I bought a car from here and have received nothing but issues... (I should have known better as when i bought the car a lady was returning hers at the same time). But i did. I have asked the garage several times to make matters right. However i am now taking matters further. The owner dosnt have a clue about cars and customer service. STAY WELL AWAY FROM AUTOPOINT YORK!

HI Jacki, It's a shame you actually went through with writing a review like this. After the threats we really didn't think you would go ahead and fabricate some mis belief story. Lets actually talk about what happened. So on August the 10th you and your boyfriend Dan visited the dealership to view a BMW 318I we had for sale. You liked the car but couldn't agree how you wished to go ahead with the purchase, whether it be bank loan or finance. Brad our sales member who dealt with you asked if you wished to reserve the vehicle with a small holding deposit until you had decided which way you wanted to go. This was refused and you chose arrange a second viewing on Monday the 13th @ 5.30PM. Early on Monday morning a lady turned up to view the car you were interested in. She was very happy with the car and wanted to go ahead with a sale. In the spirit of treating our customers fairly Brad tried to ring Dan twice to explain the situation stating we had someone ready to buy. These calls were not answered and Brad went ahead with selling the vehicle as the new customer was willing to pay the full price and it was not certain you would take the car. Brad attempted to call several times throughout the day with no success. As it got to the end of the day our calls were finally returned. Whilst we appreciate your frustration of missing on the vehicle, 99.99% of car companies will not a hold a vehicle without a deposit. You had every opportunity over the weekend to reserve the vehicle and chose to take the risk not doing so. After a 45 minute conversation with yourself how poor our customer service was for not turning the lady away who wished to purchase the vehicle baffled us. Your threats of writing a bad review if we didn't sell you the vehicle was a callous attempt of manipulation that was immediately rebuffed. Its unfortunate you couldn't see this from a reasonable point of view from both sides, instead you chose to make the most defamatory review possible with no specific links to any vehicle purchase raising concerns around your false story. If we had your address you'd be looking at a libel action, however unfortunately because you have never had any contact with us, we do not hold this information. It is a constant struggle for car dealers when they are exposed to online trolls with no means of repelling their attacks.

It’s a long story, but it took me awhile to find the right car and the trip down to York was well worth the drive. The pre purchase texting/emailing was really straight forward and Brad was always very quick to respond to the many questions I had. The photos of the service book were ideal and allowed me to track down and speak with the Land Rover Specialist. They confirmed one owner and an impeccable SH. We arrived mid-afternoon and all checked out and drove away an hour later after the test drive and paperwork was completed. There was a slight issue with my finance payment coming across, but Brad took this in his stride and spoke with the company directly and ‘sorted it out’. I would have no hesitation in buying from Autopoint York again.

We purchased a land cruiser from Autopoint York as we wanted a big vehicle to tow our trailer on the way home the dash traction control and ABS light came on we took it back they had it for some time and returned the car after a short time the lights came back on we took it to our local garage and he said come and look at the underside of the car, it rotten with rust and a large hole underneath It had an MOT but no advisories, I insisted that it was taken back to the MOT station i went under the car with the tester and pointed out the holes and the back wing held on with bath sealant he just said "oh i missed that" but said the car was still a pass. I contacted the dvla and spoke to our local tester he said that as the test station we out of his area he could not do a lot it needed to go to his opposite number in york when i asked how getting copies of old mots there is a history of rust but clear on the last test he said that there is no legal requirement for the tester to put any advisories he admitted its a loophole that is used to give a car a clean bill of health We had to exchange the car for a discovery and we had lost 2500 on the value of the landcruiser . Connor has a very fitting name Alexander will not talk to any customer I have reported them to trading standards He had been in court for this yet they have done nothing to stop the man trading read into that what you will if you type in Alexander Snee Ltd in Holgate Road fined over unsafe cars after complaints end up in court in the press you will see its just history repeating itself i pity the person that gets the land cruiser with its silicon wing and the underside rott because it was put back on sale I have also reported this to the AA and i believe this is ongoing I am attempting to get Alexander's home address to take further action !

Never ever use Autopoint York ,there a complete dody people and cars ,bout car 12 half grand little did I kno as been a women ,5 month had it in out garage shockers driver door wouldn't open and all electrics so took it to Audi to get checked out 4 and half grand to fix ,they are terrible I would warn everyone not to go to this garage as they rip you of dodgy cars and staff

Hi Fern, We're disappointed to see the review you have left for us as we feel it to be very inaccurate from the actual experience you've had. May I start by stating we had a 3rd party independent motor engineer inspect the Audi you purchased from us. The results deemed the vehicle fit for purpose and your claim of faults with the vehicle unfounded. The purpose of the independent inspection was to ensure a free from bias opinion and to ensure no underlying motive to misrepresent any fault that might be prevalent. The main purpose of this additional cost to us was to clarify the condition of the vehicle with both ourselves and the finance company. I understand you had difficulty with a locking mechanism outside of your warranty and we chose to cover this, even after being outside of your cover by at least 2 months. The vehicle you purchased was 10 years old with nearly 100,000 miles and we appreciate that slight niggles may pop up within the ownership of such example. We did advise you of the mis treatment we had witnessed of only recent when several of our staff members saw your partner driving down the middle of the road at an unprecedented speed outside our local school. You didn't seem interested and we did recommend that treatment like this could lead to adverse wear on the vehicle if the car continued to be driven erratically. We'd also like to clear up that you being a woman makes no difference to how you may perceive a vehicle and find your comments to be sexist toward our female staff members, whom I would suggest know their way round a vehicle better than most of our male ones. In summary we feel your review suggesting we ripped you off is unfounded. You reported faults to us and we rectified them, ensuring you were provided a courtesy car to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience. When you felt the car was still with fault we paid an independent expert to examine the vehicle jointly with the finance house you purchased the vehicle through. The expert found there to be no further faults. We're sorry your disappointed with your experience and will always try to maintain a line of communication with yourself in hope that we may reach a solution where you feel satisfied. Bought a freelander 2 on a 11 plate within the 30 days returned the car as there was a problem with the with it . Autopoint York informed me the rear diff had to be changed .. two weeks ltr as they were delivering the car . They had to turn round and go back to the garage as it still wasn’t running right .. when I informed them that they could keep the car as I was in my rights to return it within 30 days they tried every excuse in the book to refuse to take it back .. the car they loaned me to use had more problems than I care to list .. the fact I found out it wasn’t taxed was most annoying and could have landed me with a fine and penalty points .. a bunch of cowboys to be avoided.. and still not got my money back even thou they have the car ...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I purchased a car beginning of February from autopoint at York through Connor. Upon delivery the car had leaks under the engine. They then recieved the car back and had it for 12 days after I got it back on still had leaks engine coolant and engine oil as confirmed by a local garage also the bumper had been damaged but wasn't before as I still have pictures from sale ground. which was advised by a lawyer. We have been trying to reject this car for 6 weeks now and got passed from person to person after finally getting a reply yesterday saying that we did not reject within our 30 days although we have proof that we did. We have actually sold the car today and lost over 1750 which is heart breaking but we couldn't deal with the stress and lies from autopoint. Not once did we hear from a higher person for example ross alexander. Who is the owner, we just got told ross is to annoyed to speak to us. Really professional for a car dealer I know. There is so much more things I could list but be far to long. I'd just like to warn people to never use this garage or any of there other sites to purchase a car as would hate for someone to have to go through the stress and trouble this so called garage have caused. If I could put less than one star trust me I would be. Terrible service and staff Ross, Connor and Brad I have never met people so Unprofessional
