Bought an Audi RS4 from ASM who said it had been checked by an independent specialist. Within a week the engine warning light came on. ASM said they would pay for me to get it diagnosed at my local garage and never paid. The diagnosis showed that the catalytic converter had gone and the fault has appeared several times in the past prior to my purchase and led me to think that the fault had just been cleared. The same diagnosis also said that both engine mounts were nackered. I requested the check sheet from the independent specialist and when recieved after 2 weeks of phoneing and emails they finally sent me a copy. Looking at the sheet it was obvious that they had written in one of the boxes "no faults found on ECU" as it was in different handwriting to the rest of the form. ASM wanted nothing to do with it and basically told me to do one. I had to start legal proceedings in order to get some of the money back. They also tried turning the argument around saying that my BMW M3 trade in had a cracked subframe when it had just passed an MOT. If it had a cracked subframe then why was it advertised on their website at the same time! Would avoid this garage at all costs! If you get a problem they will not help you in the slightest and it will cost you a fortune. Hopefully you read these reviews on here before paying them a visit and get bitten. Their reviews on the website are also screened so it never displays negative comments.

Hi Bobby. Did you trade in the blue M3 convertible with hard top. If so I am looking at that car today. Q. Is the car OK? Anything I should lookout for? Many Thanks
Joe in response to Bobby
I was planning on going to look at an rs4 there tomorrow. Just wondering if you returned yours and it's the one I'm going to see.
Bought a BMW from ASM for nine grand. I had it for a month, 3 weeks of which it spent in the local specialist garage fixing, injectors, plugs and so on, after weeks of complaining and a face to face meeting ASM gave me £500, the repairs were £1400 and god knows how much I spent on taxis. I didn't trust the car so after 4 weeks of owning it, I went to a BMW dealership and traded it for a used car. The car overall was as described and looked in good nick. However the specialist machanic who did the repairs said someone had 'butchered' it very recently. Bits of trim under the bonnet were loose or missing, was there a quick cover up before I bought it? Who knows. Steer well clear at all costs.

thanks for the review...just saved me a 400mile journey to do a deal on a bmw m5
Back in August I travelled over an hour to visit the ASM showroom to view and test drive a Vauxhall Corsa I had seen advertised on Auto Trader. The car had a couple of minor bodywork marks that weren't mentioned on the Auto Trader advert, but it's a second hand car so I knew it wouldn't be immaculate (even though that's how they described it online!) The employee who took me on the test drive sat in the back of the car texting on his phone and not really paying attention to where I was going, even though I'd asked him for directions as I wasn't from the area. During the test drive I noticed a knocking noise coming from the front of the car, which I pointed out to the staff at ASM, to which they assured me they could have fixed as the car was still under warranty. I sorted finance easily and left a £500 deposit, and would pay a further £1000 in a fortnight's time when I picked up the car. I was told two days later that the car had been fixed, and when I asked for a copy of the contract I had signed at the showroom they said they'd get me a copy right away via email. 2 weeks later I picked the car up (still not received the contract I had asked for) paid the remaining £1000 of my deposit and asked what the knocking noise I heard on the test drive was. I was told the front mount was loose, and that it was easily fixed by Vauxhall. I drove the car home, and after three days of driving it, it was evident the knocking noise hadn't gone. I phoned ASM and told them I could still hear the noise, and asked for proof that they had the work done by Vauxhall, which is when the rude member of staff said they had a specialist come in to do the work, not what they originally told me! I had taken the car to my local Vauxhall to find that the front mount wasn't the issue at all, the car had faulty shock absorbers, which affects the suspension and stability of the car, making my car non road worthy. When I told ASM this, the rude staff member said "madam, it's probably wear and tear, you probably just hit a pot hole too hard. It's not our fault" THE CHEEK! They told me I could return the car to them, and they'll do the work much cheaper, but when I explained I couldn't drive the car back to them due to it being non road worthy, and the fact that it would cost them an awful lot of money to pick the car up, get it fixed, provide me with a courtesy car, and then return the car back to me all within a decent amount of time. The sales man didn't want to listen and kept saying he owed me nothing. I went ahead and had the work done on my car at a garage near me, costing me £350, and told ASM they are liable to pay for this as they sold me a car that wasn't road worthy! Once I finally received my contract I noticed I had paid a £349 admin fee, which is ridiculous considering they hardly did anything, and when I did ask for copies of paperwork and documents etc they didn't give me them! So the fact that the admin fee I paid them would have covered the repair work on the car, it didn't seem like any skin off their nose, but they still wouldn't listen. They were having none of it, never returning my phone calls, and conveniently "dealing with a customer" when I needed to speak to the manager. It took just over 3 weeks, and me threatening to take them to a small claims court for them to finally admit to and pay for their mistakes. I have taken my car back to Vauxhall 4 times since buying this car in August, for various repairs but luckily they've all been covered by the warranty. I advise everyone to avoid ASM like the plague; they will tell you anything to make a sale, they are rude, unhelpful and an outright pain to deal with. Hopefully they will be shut down soon!
Can't say to much because I have a pending case against them, backed by trading standards But trust me, avoid Aylesbury Street Motors.
I brought a car from ASM just over a year ago and it was my first so i didn't know anything about cars. Being a girl I didn't take much interest of the mechanical side and just wanted what ever looked good. I trusted the staff to guide me but they obviously just took advantage. Their customer service was shocking and the lack of communicate was no better. The car also didn't quite meet the description. After purchasing the car I had a number of problems. When I took the car to a garage they had also told me the car had been in a crash which ASM failed to mention. I would never go back to them again and I warn other people not to either.
I bought a Volkswagen Passat from Aylesbury Street Motors. They told everything was good in the mechanic wise but the car was crashed before, but it was not mentioned to us. The airbag was not working they said it was de activated for the child. NO TRUTH AND NOT TRUSTED PEOPLE. We got the car delivered to my home but next day in the morning with two flat tyres. It was very horrible experience. We bought a car and next week end we are standing in the garage spending another £1000. NOT TO BE TRUSTED PEOPLE .
UPDATE: 6 months on and the car I bought has needed a new catalytic converter, its got a cylinder misfire and needs a new lambda sensor. The car wasn't advertised as spares and repairs but listed on Auto Trader in the showroom under the sparkly lights looking all shiny and new. When I got there to purchase the car it was out the back, the guys didn't know anything about it and was left in the dark about it. So annoyed at the money I've had to spend on this car... stay away from Aylesbury Street Motors
I purchased a car from Asm motors recently , it was advertised with full service history and brand new MOT. After travelling 2 hours to view it, the car was not really accessible, covered in snow and with a flat battery. I test drove it, seemed happy enough, they agreed to do a few minor bodywork repairs, and I paid a deposit. On collection, the car was not there for viewing as they had forgotten to MOT it. On asking for the paperwork to look over while waiting, they admitted they had lost the service book! On finally getting the car, by which time it was dark and snowing, found the windscreen to have a massive crack in the passenger side, (not in sweep zone) they said they would pay the excess for me to get replaced through my insurance company. 2 weeks on and still not got it. Now have to get the 2 front tyres replaced as they are in bad condition but still just about road legal . Seems they tell you just what you want to hear to get a sale, their customer service is non existent and were quite rude during our last phone conversation. The car was sold with 5* AA warranty, we've yet to use it, although we have a suspected wheel bearing gone, so I hope it is actually a valid warranty! With hindsight we would of done things very differently, the main cause being so far away. But for the right car you go that extra mile Be careful what you buy and check EVERYTHING on the car and the paperwork, don't take their word for it. I'm not 100% sure about MOT's but I would like to think the windscreen would have been advisories, but they weren't!

I enquired about a Mercedes that ASM advertised. I was informed that the car was not at their showroom but the sales person said that he would find a time it would be available and ring me back. An hour later I telephoned again and this time I was asked if I could leave it for a couple of days. I said that I was travelling a long distance and the sales person said that they would get the car and 'phone me back in 5 minutes. Four hours later and no 'phone call. It has been suggested to me that they don't actually have the cars they advertise but sell them on commission for other dealers.
My wife and I wish to thank you all most sincerely for your courtesy, attention and professionalism during our visit to your showrooms this afternoon. We both loved the Cayenne Turbo from the moment we saw it and were so thoroughly impressed during the test drive that it clinched the sale. Moreover, we were totally enthralled with the car’s performance and comfort during the journey home, which bodes well for years of enjoyment. Kindest regards B Harper
