I purchased my 2011 Freelander from this dealership about 7 months ago, and I genuinely couldn't be happier with my experience! I dealt with both Glenn and Spencer, who were professional, helpful, and made the entire process smooth from start to finish. Initially, I was a bit hesitant due to a few negative reviews I'd seen, but after going through the process myself, I believe those might have come from people with different expectations from an older car. My experience has been nothing short of 5 stars! The Freelander has been reliable and drives great, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me with the purchase. Highly recommend!!!!

The owner Glenn, un happy with a review i left decided the best form of defence was to insult me. Now, I get rhat we might have diffeing views but to resort to private texting PRIVATE TEXTING me and saying I'm a TOSSER frankly epitomises this chaps values and ethics. A desperate sole that will insult or obstruct those who challenge him. Sammy uk Peter Norris Houghton To name a few can't ALL be wrong. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Cheap is cheap for a reason, my grand parents said.

After spending more than 3 days back and forth with walk around videos proof of history and very indepth conversations of this car mogal you claim to be haggling me to death on prices over this and that i feel that as a car sourcer, middle man as you call your self. with all your years in the trade. instead of trying to offer me £1500 less than i have it advertised for you should probly use your time and resources to find cars at trade prices for your customers all 2 of them instead of filling my day up asking 100 questions and basically insulting me as a car retailer . you would be more suited to a we buy any car depo you find at supermarkets as your persona of a car middle man clearly states you have no funds to purchase these cars for customers nor do you have decent skills to find them car sold 2 days after are conversation for full asking price must of hurt your ego knowing that you couldnt under cut me to pocket the profit for your self as my parents use to say every family has 1 and you clearly are that 1

We brought a Discovery from Glen. There was a small problem with the power steering which on the Gov website was classed as a recall for that year. Our local Landrover Dealership in Cambridge were nothing short of awful, no help and quite frankly I would never recommend them to anyone. However, Glen as a local independent dealer, helped us, he repaired the car, offered a loan car as the parts were sent incorrectly from Landrover making it a bit longer than thought and cleaned the car before it was collected back, I cannot recommend Baytree enough, both for the experience we had when buying the car and outstanding after care service. Glen didn't leave us high and dry, honoured the warranty when it was a recall and Kept in touch. Wouldn't hesitate to buy our next car from him.
I contacted Mr Glenn Manuel about purchasing a Nissan Navara in June this year he seemed very friendly as most salesmen are,as soon as I arrived he said that 20 minutes ago he had a phone call from another person who would definitely buy the vehicle if I didn’t.This started alarm bells. I test drove the vehicle and it drove ok and I noticed a couple of scratches that we agreed would be done for a cost of £200,this I agreed to, Glenn then said that he had another Nissan with less miles but was with VAT and more expensive,I took the vehicle for a test drive and it drove as expected, but it was too expensive with the VAT, I asked Glenn if he would be interested in a part ex as I had a Porsche 996 he replied ,yes so without him even seeing the Porsche we agreed £8000 part ex against the Nissan that was up for £19,184 inc VAT,this was Sunday 9 June 24,I paid him £500 deposit on my debit card,Glenn waived the £84,leaving a balance of £10500 to be paid on the 15 June 24 £8500 by Bank Transfer and £2000 in cash.He agreed to give the vehicle a full service and AC re gas prior to my picking it up…While we were doing the paperwork in his office he made a point of telling me that the other person had arrived and test driven the first vehicle, that was a bit on the quick sideI thought,I was leaving his premises I noticed a family looking at it they had the bonnet up,anyway I left and went home a 120 mile drive. When I arrived home I phoned Glenn and asked him if the person had purchased the Nissan to which he replied yes,now that’s a bit strange in itself as 3 weeks later the same vehicle is still for sale on his website ?? On Saturday 15 June I went to pick up the Navara,he test drove the Porsche and made comment that it was exactly as I had described it,I paid him the money and we did all the paperwork etc, there was no official handover of the vehicle I was not shown how anything operates,he did not know how to open the ad blue flap… Glenn then mentioned a RAC extended warranty at £1514,I said that is a lot of money and he said that it’s the RAC who dictate the cost of the cover,he then said that he would give a £400 discount making the extended 2 year cover £1100,I agreed to this paid him and left for home. The following day I spoke to a friend of mine who owns a Garage near me and I told him about the extended RAC Platinum cover that I had purchased from Glenn and he said that I was grossly over charged he could sell me the exact same Platinum cover for only £449 for two years and that it is not the RAC who dictates the price of the Policy it’s the Trader. I contacted Glenn requesting to cancel the Policy that he had sold me he replied that I might not be able to cancel it,I then advised him about the two week cooling off period, and I did eventually get a full refund from Glenn but not without a lot of phone calls. After this I checked the Nissan UK website for any factory recalls and I found that there was one outstanding for the AD Blue module,I contacted consumer direct about this and they said that I could reject the vehicle and return it to Glenn,I contacted Glenn and told him this and he refused to accept the return of the vehicle,I then checked the Ad blue tank and it was empty, the window wash tank was also very nearly empty, the in cab pollen filter has not been changed the Vehicle certainly did not have a FULL service prior to delivery. He complained because I contacted him on Wats App after 2100 hrs,the reason was that I was flying to Scotland so could not contact him earlier and despite he had on his website he can be contacted anytime,he never complained when I contacted him just after 0800 on a Sunday morning to arrange the vehicle viewing….I am extremely disappointed with the service that I have received from BayTree Car Sales,Glenn is ok until things go wrong he certainly doesn’t know much about peoples rights and I will be taking more legal advice tomorrow 1st July 25 to reject and return this vehicle for a full refund,I would not recommend Baytree Car Sales…. I have screen shots of all correspondence be myself and BayTree. for Nissan recalls

Lee Manuel from Baytree Car Sales in response to Nissan Navara
Dear Peter We have received your recent messages and noted your repeated reviews. We must inform you that your actions have become both slanderous and harassing. We have escalated this matter to our representatives, and appropriate action will be taken. Moving forward, we will only communicate with you through legal counsel. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Lee Manuel Director Baytree Car Sales
Glenn at Baytree Car Sales is on a mission. First, to honour his late father who built up the business over many years. Of equal importance is his mission to maintain the reputation of the business as a place where one receives sensible, solid advice, where one is respected as a customer, where one receives no platitudes and where the salesman keeps his word. All this and more Glenn achieves. Trustworthiness is what most of us want in the world. Glenn is that man of his word who offers a fair trade and goes beyond the call of duty to advise and support his customers. We sold our existing vehicle to him and bought two others. We did so from over 500 miles away. We couldn’t have made a better choice. Thanks Glenn. Should the need arise, we will definitely buy from you again. Best wishes for a continuing great business from here in northern Scotland.

All seemed good at first, but once a problem arose, things deteriorated between myself and Mr Manuel. I purchased a 2007 Shogun [R8 DEH] from here in May this year, and the issue has only been resolved this week with me being able to get shot of the vehicle. Wasted the summer being tied up dealing with this though. Glenn Manuel doesn't believe in, or recognise your consumer rights under the consumer rights act 2015, and refused to take the vehicle he sold me back for a full refund despite the air con not working. The air con working was an agreed condition of sale, as well as rusty rear wheel arches being sorted, which they were. He had more than one opportunity to fix this problem, but it still wasn't working when I got shot of the vehicle this week. Therefore if you do have to get a vehicle from here, make sure you use your credit card for at least £100 of the purchase price. This will give you consumer protection, and a way to get a refund when Glenn refuses, even if you are within your rights to request a full refund and return of the vehicle. You could be left with a vehicle you'll have to dispose of yourself, but at least you shouldn't be too much out of pocket. I've been left a few hundred quid down, but without section 75 protection, it could have been a few thousand. You'd be doing yourself a favour if you look into the history of Baytree car sales before getting involved with them in the first place. I found some interesting stuff relating to them on the Internet. It's out there in the public domain, so there's no danger defamation action. Personally, I'd advise avoiding this outfit altogether. I've noticed that Glenn is quick to get defensive, and threaten legal action against people who have left negative reviews, which is fair enough when reviews are dishonest, but as I have only put down the facts as I have experienced them, that isn't a problem here. Hopefully Glenn will learn something from the issues I've mentioned, and realise that buyers do have the right to request a refund under certain circumstances. He often states that he has no record of negative reviewers having purchased a vehicle from him, so I'm interested in what the response to this review will be. Caveat Emptor as the saying goes!

Glenn from Baytree Car Sales in response to Good start, but didn't last!
Mr paine just to clear this right up ,you purchased the car back in May and was told that the rear arches needed to be touch in due to surface bubbling which is pretty normal from a 15 year old shogun. Also air con was not as cold as your 19 plate mokka which it wouldn't be .but you wouldn't have it You then got the car re moted a 4 weeks later and had issue with 2 track rod ends. and then used a different mot station again 4 weeks after for some bizarre reason . Nothing we did for you was good enough as your the sort of guy who knows it all .so I leave you with this Mr paine. If any consumer rights acts was broken which they wasn't in any way under any section .you would have been entitled to a refund be it paid by any means but they wasn't. Just feels like you bought a old shogun and was trying to compare it to a new car you use and there worlds apart . Also as for this information that's widely out there for a garage that's been here 30 years of trading there will be plenty 👍 But out of the hundreds of cars sold yearly The reputation speaks for it self .more positive reviews than negatives in regards to the way the garage is. unfortunately you can't please everyone but we try are best So I will leave you with your maladriot ways All the best 👍

This response is to the Bay response to my initial review. To Glenn of Baytree car sales. When I viewed the Shogun, you told me the a/c system just needed re-gassing. You agreed to ensure it was working when I collected the vehicle. You also agreed to sort out the rusty rear wheel arches, which I mentioned you had done, so when you bring that up, you seem to be defending yourself against yourself! The a/c on this, or any vehicle, either works or doesn't work. At the viewing, you never mentioned anything about the a/c not being cold due to the age of the vehicle. If you had, it would have saved us all a lot of time and hassle, even more so if you'd mentioned it on the phone when I made enquiries about the Shogun. However, the laws of physics do not change with age. I recently owned a 2006 Jeep that had excellent a/c, and I've owned much older vehicles with good a/c systems, so that argument doesn't stand up. You also mentioned a 19 plate Mokka. We do not have a 19 plate Mokka! Ours is a 64 plate, 2014 Mokka! After the last time time you had the Shogun in your establishment, you told me the tracking had been done, and the a/c had been re-gassed, then checked for leaks. The fact that it needed re-gassing so soon after the previous time should have been a heads up to a problem that was clearly missed or overlooked [ignored]. I'd informed you if the vehicle was not right, then I would want to return it for a full refund. On driving home in the Shogun after this period with you, it soon became clear that there was no change in the feel of the vehicle handling, when there should have been if the tracking had indeed been checked and adjusted. The a/c was still not blowing cool air, never mind cold air, so what is your excuse for this? When I got home, I told you that I wanted a refund and to return the vehicle. You told me that you don't take vehicles back due to the a/c not working, despite the fact that I was within my rights to request this as the vehicle was not in the condition as agreed on at point of sale. We did agree to the a/c working and the rusty arches being sorted, did we not? You sorted the wheel arches, but the a/c was still not working as it should. You can't argue or dispute that fact. I expect you will try to though, because you seem incapable of admitting to your mistakes. In fact, it was your reluctance to entertain the idea of refunding me and taking the vehicle back that made me suspicious of the vehicle and your outfit and led to me deciding to get it mot'd again. Needless to say, I was informed that the tracking was out, and it went on to fail the mot on worn track rod ends! The mot inspector also mentioned that he had spotted two a/c pipes that at some point in the past had been cut, and the open ends squeezed shut. There had been no mention of these cut pipes from you even though the system had apparently been checked for leaks. I never did get an explanation for this from you. I replaced the track rod ends at my own expense as I deemed it to be fair enough because it was my decision to mot the vehicle. However, when I took it for the next mot, it failed again. Excessive corrosion and some other worn bushes and ball joints was the reason this time. Different tester sees different things. Humans! This mot was carried out at the same establishment as the previous mot test, yet you say it was at a completely different garage, for some bizarre reason, so it makes me wonder if you actually read or understand any of the documentation I sent you. We were obviously not going to agree on these issues, so I started to get my paperwork together in preparation for court action. I also went to the bank to submit a section 75 claim. Luckily, for Glenn, the section 75 claim refunded me, so court action was avoided. After all, this is not a discussion, just a statement of facts. I'm sure Glenn will continue to dispute these facts and go on about how many cars he sells, all the good reviews and experiences his customers have, etc, but this is not about them. It's not that I am difficult to please, but I am easily displeased when people fail to deliver what they say they will. This was not the first vehicle purchase I've experienced, but it is the worst vehicle purchase I've experienced By the way, I don't know it all, but as a mechanical engineering technician, and having worked on agricultural machinery, motorcycles, cars, including a spell at Lotus Cars in Hethel, and many years in aviation, I do know something. My mistake here was to trust you [Glenn] to do the right thing. I had mentioned to you that I'd been let down by other dealers earlier in the year and was fed up because I am often not physically up to crawling around under vehicles these days. If I had done, I would have walked away and all this would have been avoided. However, you said all the right things to make us feel we could trust you to do the right thing. From now on, due to my trust in motor traders being shattered by this experience, I will force myself to crawl around to check any vehicle I view no matter what it does to my body. It'll still be less stressful than this experience has been. Also, I am familiar with the word Maladroit, but what does Maladriot mean? Yours, M. P.
Peter Emsden in response to Good start, but didn't last!
I had a similar experience of Mr Manual,he was exceptionally helpful until things went wrong,He actually sold me a vehicle with a factory recall among other things which is in itself illegal…..
