Bought a car from kevin mccarthy with 18month warranty, had problems straight away but he has hidden away and won't help, looks like his service history and receipts were fake, needed a new clutch and fly wheel along with other things
Matt agreed to sell my car for me, with him making his cut out of the sale. Then I start getting parking fines from Sheffield children's hospital (7 in total ) ,Matthew said his sales man Kevin had been using my car when he was specifically told not to use it. The car sold quite quickly and so far I e had £500 out of the £2000 we agreed ( the car was advertised for £2795 so they were getting a health cut. Matt has always promised in writing to pay me the balance, but now he's disappeared off the face of earth. Terrible people

Please read the below as it involves information about taking BCD Sales Limited to the small claims court and winning. Company name: BCD Sales Limited Director : Mr Kevin Andrew McCarthy (born February 1972) Trading Address: 41 Broomhouse Ln, New Edlington, Doncaster, DN12 1ES I purchased a ford fiesta from Mr McCarthy and it became apparent there was a fault with said car. I offered him the chance to fix the fault under the consumer rights act, and he would not comply. Therefore, I made the difficult, but warranted decision to take the case to the small claims court. My claim was reasonable (£950), was not over exaggerated and was only for the cost of the repairs, not the whole car. My case was presented to the County Court. Mr McCarthy replied to this claim with quite a limited attempt at a defence that in all truth was full of holes and blatant lies. The date of the preliminary hearing came, and unsurprisingly Mr McCarthy failed to show up. The hearing still took place, and the judge went through the case with me, and based on the significant case I had put together, and alongside the fact Mr McCarthy did not appear, she found in my favour. As such a CCJ was awarded against BCD Sales Ltd and a request for the money to be paid within 14days was sent to his registered correspondence address. The letter was returned to the court as "addressee gone away", but because this was (and still is) the address he has on companies house, it is still classed as being served. The 14 days passed and no money, or contact was received from the dealer. I tried to recuperate the lost money through court appointed bailiffs sending them to his trading address. However, it looks as though this business has ceased trading, moved all his cars from the trading address and removed his website and online presence. While the baliff warrant of control was all in process (3months after CCJ was awarded) Mr McCarthy got in touch with the court to ask them to set aside that judgement. This is a process where the defendant feels the CCJ was not actioned correctly. This is not a defence against the actual small claim, just the limited company questioning the awarding of the CCJ (my guess was that BCD Sales LTD were going to argue the CCJ went to an unused address, and they knew nothing about it, even though that address is still on companies house). So the date for the CCJ set aside hearing was set, and you might have guessed, unsurprisingly, Mr McCarthy failed to show at court again for the hearing he had asked for! This was most likely a delay tactic to allow him to remove all items of worth from his trading address, or just a blatant attempt to waste both mine and the county court's time. So please be aware that BCD Sales Limited (Company number: 13961932) have a CCJ against them. They are a completely untrustworthy and dishonest dealership. If you check companies house website you will find that the company has failed to submit any actual business accounts since they started trading in 2022 which in itself is extremely unprofessional and worrying. Looking deeper into Companies House, Mr McCarthy has more recently set up a different limited company (still to sell cars from the same trading address) called Doncaster Sales Limited (Company number: 14917679). It looks as though this new limited company was set up whilst my small claim was being processed. However, this new company has no online presence or any other contact details that are evident as yet I just want to let people know that this dealership, and Mr Kevin McCarthy have proved to be totally dishonest and untrustworthy in my case. Please keep an eye out for this person and any companies they are affiliated with. It is easy and free to check the government companies house website to research more.

Mark French in response to ** Untrustworthy and dishonest car deale
Hi, I had similar experience with this Kevin mccarthy and his partner Matthew Garth. If you have any information on them please share that with me.
Bought a van via video, was told it was a catN but the only damage was a small dint on the bottom of the rear wheel arch. The van has concealed and covered up damage to the front passenger side that will cost approximately £1800 to repair. The service history has 2 false stamps, 1 for the timing belt and water pump. The owner kevin mccarthy blocked me from calling him, blocked me on WhatsApp. The salesman claims kevin mccarthy is not the boss, the salesman called Matt is the boss. They obviously don’t understand much about the consumer rights act 2015. I will take legal action to recover the costs of repair and timing belt.

Kevin from BCD Sales Limited in response to Concealed damage & false service history
I am Kevin the owner of BCD sales limited. Yes a live video was shown to the customer who was happy with the van. The van was delivered before payment the customer inspected the van at length and said he was happy with the van only then did he make payment for it! The van was advertised with some marks as it was over £2000 cheaper than others of this year and miles. The service history tge customer has accused of been not genuine is because he called the garage that did the work 3 years ago and they have now closed so he says he can not confirm it has been done. The damage he relates to is cosmetic as it was when he inspected and paid for the van. The van works and drives well. The reason why I blocked his number on WhatsApp is because the customer was calling myself and Matt trying to play one of us off against the other so we needed just to have 1 point of contact with the customer. No call or WhatsApp was ignored from our company phone number. When the customer bought the van he told me that Matt had agreed to deliver the van for free which was not the case but I agreed to this thinking matt had offered this. We do not want any repeat of this. I was sat in the car with Matt who was talking to the customer then the customer called straight back to me and asked the same questions to try and get a different answer this is why 1 number was blocked We are in negotiations with the customer to try and resolve this issue.
