Unfortunately, can’t recommend this garage. My daughter purchased a used 66 plate black i20 from Berkeley Vale in Jan 24. All went well with Phil the salesman and the transaction was smooth. However, within 48 hours when an engine warning light appeared it went into limp mode. The garage were very understanding and took the car back in to recreate the fault. After 4 days and the car clocking up 150 miles trying to recreate the error and using the car as a run around, it was agreed to be returned back to us even though the fault could not be replicated. This is where the fun began, it was delivered back with dents and scratches all along the passenger side and drivers door. We asked the garage to take it back and restore it to its original condition as we purchased it. It was then in the workshop for 4 days, but returned again in a poor repair state, with the headlight still having a deep scratch across it and the doors being touched up (badly) with a paint pen. While Gary was very sympathetic and accepted liability trying to resolve issues, Nigel Vowles was very rude to us on the phone and basically said ‘take the car or leave it’, so we asked for a full refund back. He stated that replacing the broken headlight would cost £800, so was not worth it on a £9000 car. He also insinuated the that the scratches/dents were done by ourselves. Fortunately for us we had footage of the car before it went into the garage so had evidential proof the damage was done in their care. The garage let at least 3 staff use the car as a run around , dent it, then not one person owned up to it. I never write reviews but felt so shocked by the customer service received we wanted to warn others of our experience.

I bought a used car from Berkeley Vale 11 months ago, After my experience I would never advise anyone to buy a car here. When the salesman Nigel Vowles sold me the car it had a scratched drivers door window and paintwork missing over front window. He promised to put both right. . 11 months later I took the car back as the paint that was done had come off and got worse. The workshop had NO record of any paintwork being done and the only person who knew anything about it was Nigel Vowles - the salesman! Who exactly did this paintwork as it obviously wasn’t done correctly and to the standard I would have expected.? Nigel Vowles was most arrogant and rude. I’m quite sure he would not have spoken to a man the way he spoke to me - a 75 year old lady. I would not advise anyone to buy a car at Berkeley Vale
Family business which looked out for us making sure we had time to try the car. Team were friendly & knowledge highly recommend.
Found these guys to be nothing like the corporate faceless big groups which are the norm. So nice to find a family owned business that's been running for nearly 100yrs
We recently bought an Ix20 from Berkeley Vale Motors for my wife. The salesman who dealt with us was Angelo Amato. As I worked in the motor trade before I retired I was interested in seeing how he handled the sales process. Frankly I couldn't fault him. He quickly understood our needs then guided us through the possible vehicles that would be appropriate helping my wife to decide to buy a quality used Ix20. The whole experience was a pleasure and I would have no hesitation in recommending Berkeley Vale. The sales admin was spot on and everything promised was done on time and in full.

Dreadful customer service. Phoned and arranged to view a car 48 hours later. Was told that they would keep me posted on any other interest and that there was no other interest at that time. Drove the 30 miles to go and view the car as agreed only to be told on arrival that it was sold. They hadn't even bothered to phone me, presumably so as to get me there and 'see what else they could do for me'. I don't think so. Common courtesy costs nothing. I and anyone I can influence won't be going anywhere near this place in the future.

I have had the most appalling experience with this dealership. The customer service and after sales experience is absolutely atrocious and they have no interest in keeping customers happy.
If you are looking for a Hyundai in Bristol it is likely that Berkeley Vale Motors will be on your list of places to visit. An official Hyundai dealer, they have some of the best models from the Hyundai range and can provide services on site as well as sell you a new or used car.
