My father purchased a BMW 1 series cope of these two friendly chaps. My father had a few things he wanted done on the car and aranged for the car to be collected in a weeks time, the car wasn't ready on Saturday as it was still having some chips/marks repaired in the body shop so it was rearranged to collect car on Tuesday. All the jobs were done as promised, however service book was the only thing not stamped, we said they could stamp it but they said they would rather the garage stamp it as they did the work. My father loves this car, and we couldn't fault the service and attention to detail provided... Cheers chaps Darryl and Damien
I bought a used Ford Ka for my daughter. The deal included a new MOT and the car would be serviced. There was a 1 month warranty. 8 weeks after buying it (and outside of warranty) I had to take the car to a garage after the engine management light came on with the engine stuttering. The garage told me that the car was in urgent need of a service (which obviously had not been done) but more sinisterly, a rear tyre had an illegal plug in the side wall rendering it highly dangerous. Another tyre was also defective and would have been at the time I bought it. I contacted Lewis and he apologised profusely and blamed everything on the garage he uses for the servicing and MOT. He offered to pay the £305 bill I faced as a "goodwill gesture" but then reneged on this when I called today to collect a cheque. I have referred the matter to the Trading Standards for them to investigate. I will post on here the outcome of that investigation.

I don't know when Lewis placed this response on as I have not seen it before. The fact of the matter however is that when I did call to the garage to receive the cheque he promised me, I was met by 3 of them who sought to intimidate. I was told in no uncertain terms that they would not pay. Do not touch this lot with a barge pole.
Dealer was very helpful prior to purchase but resolving issues after purchase was very different in my experience. About as easy as herding cats. Useful to have since seen other reviews which reflect similar difficulties. Also agree with others' comments about a difficulty obtaining service history. Can also vouch for the use of the phrase "walk and talk to me" from "Not Display"'s review as I overheard this whilst I was there. Unfortunately I would not buy another vehicle from this dealer and would not recommend them to friends.

The premises had nothing to do with the poor after sales service I encountered and the same person is still running it. So I don't quite see how that works, but I appreciate you taking the time to try and circumvent my review. I received poor after sales service which isn't of itself cured by a move 1/2 mile up Penarth Road (and replacing everyone except the person I had the issue with) but instead by assessing the way in which customers are treated. Just to note, I've never complained about any after sales service I have ever received before, be that for a car, kitchen, bathroom, holiday etc. I have not felt the need to complain online. Until now.
My daughter saw a car in exactly the spec she wanted at a good price at Better Value Cars. I rang them to check that the description they had on the website was accurate, they confirmed that the car was valeted, in excellent mechanical order and ready to test drive. They also confirmed that they had a full service history with the car and that it was serviced up to date. Reassured after the phone call we set off to visit the dealer, but after a 4 hour drive we arrived to find the car wasn't onsite. We were told that it was at the valeters and that they just needed to go and get it. Not a good start, but we hung around and waited the 30 mins while the car was collected. It arrived and 1st impressions were not great, the 'valet' was obviously a quick trip through a cheap car wash with the usual marks all over the car as evidence. The car was described with excellent bodywork. I realise that the term "excellent" is a subjective, but the front of the car was covered with 100's of stone chips and "excellent" it certainly wasnt. We moved on and took the car for a test drive, which went well apart from the obvious knock from the nearside front suspension which was noticed within 5m of setting off, I suspect it wasnt a major issue, but again hardly the "excellent mechanical condition" they describe. I understand these are used cars, so we did a deal taking the the above issues into account and the trade in they offered was very fair, giving a decent price to swap. I just needed to check the history, but they didnt have it. I was given some story about it being at the main dealers and I would get it by 10am the next morning on email. Needless to say over a week after the visit and despite chasing it, the history has never materialised. In summary, decent prices, good trade in value but descriptions are a work of fiction and I wouldnt believe a word they tell you about anything. Very frustrating and wasted day, 400 mile drive, tank of fuel . Avoid them if you can !

A number of reviews have now been responded to as not having been seen before (August 18th) yet the dealer left replies to one above in June. A rather curious approach. Perhaps the dealer has a list of preferred disgruntled customers who receive their reply two months before others?!
I have had the exact same problem as the last reviewer. I was told when the car was purchased (January 24th) that the car had a full service history and although this was not with them at the moment it had been tracked down and would be with me in the next couple of days. Over 6 weeks later I am still waiting for the history. I have been told on several occasions that it has been found and will be sent 'soon' or 'tomorrow' but it still hasn't arrived and no updates are ever provided without chasing. The last update I had was Monday night saying they had the history but a new book had been requested which should have come yesterday. It didn't and I still have nothing. All I want is for the history to be provided and if it is not available a refund to be made commensurate with the value lost as a result. Very, very bad post sale customer service.
Great cars, great company and a great bunch of guys !! We have bought three cars now from better value cars and would recommend this dealership to anyone !!

They've only been in business since sunmer 2015. Are you telling me you've bought 3 cars within the space of about 8 months?
I saw an advert on line for a used Kia. It had low mileage and was allegedly in perfect condition so I made the 300 mile round trip. The car did look pretty good but the glove compartment was damaged and the boot tray missing. There were a few scratches in the interior. I was told by Alex that the car hadn't been prepped yet and that the scratches would all come out and car would look 'fantastic'. The dealer (Lewis) said he would order and replace the glovebox and car boot tray and mat, but I would have to pay the asking price. Lewis and Alex sounded really genuine so I said I would buy the car. When I came back (at the agreed time) the scratches had been sorted out but the glove-box was unchanged and the boot tray still missing. They had been "ordered" but had still not arrived. I wasn't given any warning of this. I know with hindsight I should have walked at this point but the dealership insisted it would send the items to my address and would even pay for them to be installed locally. They even gave me a note to that effect. Unfortunately despite several phone calls and earnest reassurances that they would be sent ‘the next day’ they failed to arrive. I wrote a letter but surprise surprise no response a month later.. On a more positive note although I had to replace the front tyres the car runs OK.

These parts managed to move premises and pop themselves into your new office totally undetected? A glove box and boot tray?! That is thoroughly unfortunate.
I bought a car from those ‘lovely’ gents some time ago. First of all, you need to remember that they’re USED cars salesmen and need to treat them like that! They are charming and well spoken, but my advice would be; - don’t trust them, don’t trust their promises that something would be fixed, exchanged, repainted etc, when you PAID for the car, they won’t do anything (excuses like miscommunication, no one answer a phone, there is a waiting queue and so on are very common). I believe they lost some of my paperwork but didn’t admit it, and never fixed some issues as promised. All repairs would do as cheaply as possible ( they use jp autos). Basically – be cautious, be warned and think twice before buying any car!
