I travelled from Cardiff to Devon to collect my Megane from this dealership and I have had nothing but issues that are going to cost me a fortune and the dealership has now disappeared.

They are trading under a new name in Newport, as right cars,,,,,in argyle Street
Purchased my Mercedes SLK from Birchgrove Motor Company in November. Car had a new mot but the sidelight didn't work. Also had a faulty break sensor, faulty thermostat, a split breather pipe, a seised boot handle and the boot was fall of water. They told me to take the car to an independent garage and they would pick up the bill as part of the warranty agreement. The car was fixed and thankfully no more problems. I paid the bill and when I went to pick up the money they had promised me only 48 earlier, low and behold they had done a runner. Please please please avoid at all costs.

Good news - I reported my story to BBC X-ray and they are running a story on Gavin and his dealership later in March.
I gave them my daughters car to sell in November as she bought a new one elsewhere they gave me a contact and sold it in December and wrote me a cheque for £2800 which bounced all over the bank and was returned unpaid. i phoned them and they fobbed me off for 2 weeks so went straight down and they had gone the night before, so in hands of south wales police but not holding my breath. Birchgrove Motor Company need stopping.......... ,

You are not alone many of us have had issues with these. Please join face book page dodgy dealers South Wales.
Bought car in June, car needed torque converter, ignition module failed leaving car immobile, alternator failed. Cost 3K. All documentation in the world wont get my money back. I have an issue with Auto trader as the only reviews at the time were 5 stars, they need to do their homework. I hear that they have now moved, So much for small claims. I will call BBC Cardiff and see if they are interested. Lets all do that.

I feel your pain. My car didn't even have the original boot I now discover. Had split rad, no service the RAC warranty is false, had to have new oil filters, exhaust was on its last legs. Contacted trading standards, Cardiff council, police and like the chap below x-ray. They keep doing it opening and closing under different names. What else can we do? My guess is nothing.
Been battling with these guys for six months. Just about to start court proceedings and they have just disappeared anyone else wanting to stop these guys opening up again. Report to trading standards. Report to RAC as they were selling cars using RAC name as guarantee. And contact X RAY tv programme. I have done all this so the more of us that do the same will hopefully stop these guys once and for all.
J Smith in response to Battling for 6 months
I have reported them to trading standards previously and have now contacted X Ray.

I have hope that credit card company will pay for car to be made safe. I have reported them to RAC and was concerned when I told them I was contacting XRay and that it will give bad publicity to them for supporting them. After sending XRay, the garage details I haven't heard from them. So was wondering if you had heard from them yet?

Hello, I would advise you to get in touch with the Facebook page mentioned in these reviews. Good Luck.
I can sympathise with and echo all the negative comments here on this shower of a business. I purchased a car from them under their previous guise of Edge Cars just before they resurfaced as Birchgrove Motors. I had nothing but issues with the car and lies, false promises and unreturned phone calls from all the staff involved including the director. I finally got them to agree to a refund but they went under while still owing me money. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Company sold me a dodgy car! Did a disappearing act this weekend! Anyone with any information please get in touch. I was also sold RAC warranty, no such thing. They have let me drive around with my 4 year old with split radiator and dodgy brakes.
Michael Ryman in response to Have done a disappearing act
I have home addresses of the Directors and Company Secretary. They owe me £6200 for a car that failed after 35 miles, and that was ten months ago. Total and utterly without conscience, and the law, despite what we are told, has no power whatsoever when dealing with such shameful and slippery individuals. Trading Standards were a waste of good oxygen and there is only one way to exact any form of recompense. that is to collectively prepare proceedings against the individual directors and make it almost impossible for them to trade wherever they next surface. Please get in touch, and together we can formulate a plan, which will involve publicity.

I agree with the suggestion for us all to contact X Ray. It's got to be worth a try.
I bought a beautiful Alfa Romeo GT from you last April that came with an MOT, service, pre-sale inspection, AA cover and warranty. You told me it would come with those things, and you even had it printed on the sales receipts. I believed you, why wouldn't I? My wife didn't, she told me she thought you were a liar. What with you changing your company name and doing an overnight flit with all your stock. No I said, he's fine, these things happen, let's have the car, its gorgeous, it comes with a warranty and everything. So we bought it. God I was chuffed. But within a week the suspension went wrong. And some other things. Oh dear. Oh well, I'll call the warranty people I thought, its covered. But the warranty company said they'd stopped dealing with you and so the warranty I had was bogus. Oh dear. But your website still said 'we do warranties'. Well, until the day after I'd spoken to the area manager for the warranty company who did sound cross. Then your warranty page went blank. So I emailed you. And texted you. And emailed again and texted again, then wrote you letters, and then the credit card company did, because I reported you to them for mis-selling, and then the lawyers from the credit card company did so too because all you ever did was ignore the letters, and the emails, so then you said 'oh, the managing director will get back to you about this by tomorrow' to the lawyers from the credit card company. Which is odd as Companies House list you as the managing director. Oh well. Anyway, long story short, ten months later, the credit card company called me today and have just given me £1009.49 to pay for the work to make the car good that your bogus warranty should have covered. Which is nice. What's also nice is that the credit card lawyers will be taking you to court to get their money back. And passing their costs onto you also. Oh well. Turns out my wife was right all along.

Charlotte Massey in response to Reported for mis-selling
Hello! I have just seen the reviews that they have gone under and I am in the middle of a warranty claim with them. I wondered if you might have any words of advice and information on how to pursue them? Also, would you mind advising what organisations you reported them to if any? Would really appreciate any advice you have. Thank you in advance! Charlotte.
KR in response to Reported for mis-selling
Charlotte; if u check your warranty if it's with RAC is a false one sorry to say as I had the same. Rac have advised this company stopped the partnership in Sep 2014. I have contacted x ray as well, Cardiff council, trading standards, the police for fraud as they were mis selling and depending on how u paid them contact your bank. I believe we are fighting a losing battle. The have done this since b4 under different names I'm afraid I only have to look at reviews from edge motors .
I purchased a Fiat Abarth from here back in September and I have had nothing but issues with it. The dealers lied through their teeth! They said the car has just passed its MOT but when We took it to be checked they said it had failed it's MOT and was not even roadworthy. The dealers have been very unhelpful and I would certainly not recommend them to anyone.

I purchased a vehicle from here back in august. The car has had numerous issues and the dealers ship have been rude, aggressive and threatening towards me. I have been left very upset by the whole experience and I certainly would not recommend this dealership to anyone.
