I would not buy a bicycle from them, let alone a car. Be very careful, if the MOT was issued by this dealership. They did not pick up any problems with the car, while the previous MOT records showed various problems, which were clearly not fixed. The staff was OK, but the manager is rude. I wanted to take out a car for a test drive and the manager told me unless I will promise that I will take the car today if I like it only then I can take it for a test drive. Because, I would not want to commit to buy the car straight away, the manager refused me to take the car for a test drive. It is a shame, because it was very likely I would have bought the car the next day. However, after this rude treatment I would not buy anything from these people.
Had a car off this dealer via finance. After a few days viewing it was told it was ready to be picked up. When I was handed over the keys the car was stinking dirty, they didn't bother cleaning the inside or outside of the car. One week later the car battery was faulty and fail to hold a charge due to the garage not regularly starting up and letting it run. At the time I didn't know what the problem was showing message check VSC, called the dealer 4 times told to ring back later and speak to the Manager. They wasn't even able to try and help, just telling me to call the warranty company to deal with it then hang up on me twice. When I was handed over the car, the tyres all seem low on air, pumped them all up, one week later the one tyre has a leak losing 20 psi in a week. The whole car should have been checked over and the dirt was covering up all the cosmetic issues. Their customer service is really rubbish, worse I have ever seen.
Went to see a few cars, some of them didn't have a price so we asked and their response was "I don't know come back tomorrow" what salesmen doesn't know about the cars they're selling !? Furthermore, we came back the next day and checked the car. The tyres were all worn out, not even road worthy, we took the car for a test drive and the brake pads sounded like they were about to break apart. We pointed out all the faults and said a price varying on how much I would need to fix the car to just make it road worthy, and he said "fixed price we can't change it" Looking underneath the car, everything thing was rusty. Btw I was with a mechanic as well. Overall I would say avoid! Pay that little more and go to a proper dealership, you'll have the piece of mind knowing it won't fall apart!
I have now decided not to buy from Britannia Autos, even though the car could have been the right one. The car was stuck at the back & unavailable for a test drive unless we were 'definitely going to buy it'. I pointed out a couple of defects & asked if they could be fixed (a button not working and a dashboard cover that needed a fix) and was told 'we can try' (and then subsequently that 'we won't do that'.) I rang to ask whether we could do an AA check to be told that if I handed over £300 I could do one, but if I decided not to go ahead on the basis of the report I would lose that £300 (unless AA had said it was totally unable to be driven.) So basically I wouldn't get my £300 back even if it had faults. I would expect a car dealership to at least feign some interest in accommodating some of the queries of it's potential customers - they have lost a £6700 sale as a result. Great marketing guys.
Bought a car for myself as a Christmas present. Didn't pay attention on -no service history. It cost me two months later- car had 54k mileage and oil was never changed before as I have been told in a garage and shown an oil filter- it looked like a black piece of paper, few days later I could say bye-bye to a car and loose 3,5 k. These people don't have an answer regarding condition of a car. All they are interested in- to get money from you asap. It's my second purchased car from this garage in 5 months time, got to get rid of previous quickly and gonna do the same for current. Never ever I will go there to buy even bicycle.
Very dodgy people they lie and do not "help" you they try to cut corners for everything! I ended up having to pay a further £600 to get the car roadworthy after being told "the car was perfectly fine" I advise anyone that goes there to ensure you are with a mechanic or someone that knows what they are doing and can check underneath the car thoroughly.
Hi all, I have bought a car from them in a bargain price, they are absolutely friendly and helpful guys with smiles on faces, not like other dealers who put you under presser to buy!! One of the sales man showed me the details of the car I bought with few other cars to compare prices, condition and fuel efficiency even :) I had seen few cars and test Driven two with no presser at all than I made my choice, great experience overall and very good car.
My hope is that you find this review before you go to this company. We found the whole set up to be 'dodgy'. We rang three times throughout the day to check the car that we were going to see was in stock and even up to an hour before we got there it was 'yes yes it's here'. Then upon arriving it had 'magically' been sold only 1/2 hour before our arrival- imagine our luck! Then we were shown a car we were uninterested in, but I asked about milage and year etc. I was told 'oh I don't know any of that, I just like the look of this one' by the staff. The lot is in a not so safe are with a forbidding sign out the front that tells you to 'enter at your own risk'. My partner nearly tripped on uneven concrete and the staff said 'don't fall over, we aren't insured'. I was shown another car and I was slightly interested in this one and I asked it's owner history- he said he didn't know, they get the cars from 'here, there, auctions, car lots, I don't know'. Don't waste your travel time!
