Great service from Ben and his Dad, it was very honest approach from Ben, i was buying a 10 year old car on behalf of my sister and we spoke on the phone he explained the car very accurately. When I was viewing the car had no pressure just left to myself to fully explore it, I wanted to just take it as it was as they had just taken it in. Ben said that he wouldn’t let it go without being checked over by their mechanics, he even had the wheels refurbished and gave it a full detail. I was so impressed I wanted to leave them a nice review, definitely would purchase another car from them again. And most of all my sister loves her new Touraeg 👍

Just bought a Land Rover Discovery and have to say that the service and communication Ben provided was excellent. The car itself was prepared to a very high standard and all information given was accurate. Very trustworthy and no questions were left unanswered. Have no hesitation in recommending Britannia Cars.

Ben was not exactly a pleasure to deal with, played us off against another buyer, car broke down 5 minutes after driving away from picking it up. I was left to liaise with my local garage regarding the repair, Ben didn't take control of the situation at all. Only good thing was the repair was paid for. Would definitely not buy another car from him. Sorry, but would not recommend

Fantastic responsive communication from the start to the sale. Ben was a pleasure to deal with and the car what can I say! Immaculate throughout as described and as displayed in the photographs. Like buying a car off a trusted friend. Thanks Ben...Pete

We bought a Land Rover Evoque from Ben at Brittania Cars, the service they provided was exceptional. No matter what time of the day we rang, Ben was always on hand to answer our questions. The transaction was seamless and the car was in immaculate condition. We would definitely use Brianntia Cars Uk again and have already recommended them to friends and family.

I purchased a Skoda Superb from Britannia Cars, sight unseen, relying on their honesty in communications and details in their advert. The car more than met my very high expectations. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with them and would recommend unreservedly to anybody. If and when a need another car they will be the first place I look, even though they are almost 200 miles away

We bought a Volvo V70 from Britannia Cars last week after visiting numerous well known national dealerships. It was like a breath of fresh air to deal with someone who wants to sell a car not a load of Bull about scotch guard, Paint guard and every other guard that someone with grandkids can,t do without, the only problem is once you have got all the guards they offer, the motor has gone up in price by £1500. With ben we sat down worked out a trade in acceptable to both parties signed a contract all done. I cannot recommend Ben and his dad enough nice people and a pleasure to deal with.

Every now and again you have the opportunity to buy from a used car dealer who is honest, professional and reliable. Sadly, Britannia Cars are nothing like this. There are two other reviews here that have had a similar experience to my own, so I know that I am not alone. I bought a 2006 Porsche Cayman S from Ben. The car physically appeared to be in good condition - no sign of oil leaks, brakes and tyres looked new, the cabin was clean and tidy - and a test drive didn't reveal any immediately obvious issues. The vehicle had £3,000 spent on repairs only 3,000 miles ago, and had also been serviced by Ben's garage, so I felt satisfied that there should be no major mechanical problems with the car. Having spent around £14,500 on the car and a warranty (which Ben sold as a "top notch" warranty), I drove off expecting to spend a few hundred quid on whatever minor cosmetic issues I found. What I didn't expect was the weeks-long nightmare that soon followed. I had already booked the car into a popular Porsche specialist garage in Leeds to get it evaluated properly, when the car started making the worst rattling noise whilst driving it. I had to stop driving the car for a week before getting the car into the garage, as the noise was embarassing and I didn't want the car breaking down on me. Once in the garage, I was initially told that the water pump was causing the noise and they told me it would cost around £500 to put a genuine replacement in it (the aftermarket versions are not reliable). I told them to commence the repair work, naively assuming that the warranty would cover the cost. As they continued to work on the car, they found a bunch of other issues, and I was eventually presented with a laundry list of mechanical issues totalling around £2,200 in repairs! These included (priced in parts and labour): new water pump (£541), new horn (£94), new ignition switch unit (£201), diagnosis tests on loud noise (£130), new purge valve (£535), and a new starter motor (£360). The garage also reported that the exhaust manifolds were blowing and needed welding elsewhere, which they estimated as costing an additional £160 to sort out. Naturally, I was shocked and furious that the car had been given to me in this condition, and that Ben's garage hadn't detected these problems. Unfortunately, they had already done the repair work on the water pump when they found the other issues, or else I would have immediately returned the car for a full refund. I called Ben, who said that the car was fine when he had it, and then suggested that the Porsche garage was touting for work and overcharging! The "top notch" warranty only agreed to pay the £94 for the horn, and £200 towards the water pump (after much negotiation). After ponying up the money for the repair work, I eventually returned the car to Ben to get the exhaust welding done. I also gave him the old water pump, which he said he would have inspected to see if he could get any more cash from the warranty company. This all occurred about three months ago, and since then I have fired off several emails to Ben to ask what the status is, only to be told that it is still in progress. I have received NO money from either Ben or the warranty company towards the cost of the repairs, and have now decided to stop chasing him and simply post a negative public review on the internet, to warn other prospective customers to shop elsewhere unless they want to run the risk of a massive repair bill.

Kev in response to Huge repair bills after buying used car
Sorry to see you've had a similar experience as me Jason, albiet a much higher end car than my Merc & seems it cost you lot more money! It clearly shows they arent interested in helping once they have their hands on your money! Not to mention that the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on! Didn't pay a penny for the failed turbo event tho I was told I would be covered up to a lousy £500 I took it to Turbo express in Portsmouth who took it off and quoted over £1000 but because I refused to remove my reviews they wouldn't give the warranty people the go ahead to pay out just half of the repair! Not to mention all the other stuff!! They had the nerve to call me childish for getting angry and calling him expletives over the phone. I had my car since July and I've also had to spend over 2k to put right.
I recently bought a Volvo V60 from Brittania Cars, the car came serviced and Mot'd. After a while of owning the car it developed a problem through no fault of their own. I called Ben who told me to get anything fixed that wasn't right and to call them when I was at my local garage. Ben paid the bill without any questions over the phone. From stepping foot in Brittania Cars to getting the car fixed everything was professional and made as easy as possible. This is as expected from a prestigious car show room, which they are, and one of the reasons I decided to buy from them in the first place. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience and would strongly recommend to anyone.

I bought a Mercedes E280 cdi for £5800 from Britannia Cars which has loads wrong with it! I took it to an independent Mercedes specialist for a health check and estimated £950 worth of repairs & yet despite my best efforts he wouldn't acknowledge these problems saying the garage was touting for work! & that even tho the discs are scored causing brakes to squeal & pulls to one side! He reckons brakes were perfect when it passed mot back in March! Two of the parking sensors need replacement at £270! "that's not a mechanical defect so he refused to pay! Too many problems to list as not enough room! He offered to pay a fraction of the repair estimate then didn't reply for ages for an oil leak & faulty glow plug to be exact as he said these are mechanical issues! But that was a very late in the day after id already had work done & paid! Besides it was a token gesture to try & prevent me leaving negative feedback! All I asked for was some help towards these extra repair costs and he wouldn't budge! I refused the offer of £158 so it's not just about the money it's about doing the right thing! A very stressful experience you could say I wish I never bought it!
