Got a car, noticed it was shaking at high speeds as soon we got on the motorway. Dealership, knowing they haven’t done proper checks on the car tried yo pin blame on us for damaging the wheel. The guy got really aggressive and rude, refused to listen to me. It’s clear he knew about the issue and tried to cover it up by pressuring me. Awful place with abysmal service.
Initial signs looked. Good selection of cars and reasonably friendly service. Jack served me and showed me the car I was interested in. Was very affable and we chatted a lot. Offered very little information on the car itself but instead, told me many long stories of his customer service priorities and issues with previous jobs. Despite not learning much, I at least felt reassured that customer service and satisfaction was a priority. Car was over priced and not prepared at all. Dirty and needed the basics you would expect from a high end dealer. I was told in no uncertain terms that the price was not up for discussion. But that the car would be prepared to a very high standard. I was told alloys would be refurbished as they had some bubbling and some scratches. Thought about it for a day or so, and then decided to take the car. Arranged for collection and payment. It was overpriced, but I didn’t want to carry on looking. It ticked most of my boxes. Went to collect the car. Didn’t look like it had anything more than a wash and dry and certainly not the detail I was promised. Decided to let that slide as I enjoy that aspect myself anyway. I’m no stranger to a clay bar... Alloys had not been touched. I pointed this out and jack told me to return the car tomorrow,and they’d do them. Said they had forgotten to them. I did so next day, and they seemed to sort the bubbling, but was by no means a refurb. I should have kicked up a fuss then. I chose to let it slide. Took car home and after a few days I noticed more things amiss. No spare key at all (and I was not warned it was missing), one illegal tyre (despite being marked as well in limits on Brownroyd’s checks), one almost illegal tyre and more cosmetic issues not addressed. I flagged the key and general dissatisfaction with jack. Was just told “it didn’t have one” and then had subsequent emails ignored. I researched names of owners of Brownroyd from companies house and mentioned them in an email. That got a reply, and told me they’d be in touch. Months later nothing has been done. No contact from them. I’m paying for two new tyres and a spare key from BMW. At great expense. And slowly sorting the paintwork and wheels myself. It’s a shame as it’s a great car in a lot of ways. A dealer to be avoided in my experience. Id certainly never go back. Lessons were learned.

2 years ago i bought a mercedes from Brownroyd Motors, everything was well until 2 months later the car kept going into limp mode and the engine managment light was on, sent it back to the garage who had it for 2 weeks to get it back with everything ok....... +500 miles on the clock...dont know where they had it but never mind. car was ok but started to jump into park as iwas slowing down towards a junction...absolutly dangerous with the kids in the car....off it went back to the garage, got it back and was ok for a few more months. then it started again jumping from drive into park, and also the engine managment light was back on....brownroyd refused to do anymore as they said it was past the 6 months, i got in touch with the finance company Alphera Finance, basically just treat me like crap and said they would send someone to have a look at the car. when they came he could see that the engine light was on but didnt even bother to plug it into his computer, he took it for a drive for 5 mins and it didnt jump into park once, i told him it was intermitting. his report was that he couldnt find a problem even though the engine managment light was on. Tried Brownroyd but to no avail...then i had to bite the bullet and get a garage to try and sort it out and to their suprise Brownroyd had removed my catallic converter, cut it open and removed the insides and welded it back up to stop the car from going into limp mode...absolutly disgusting. I had to go through the ombudsman which tool 18 months to get them to take the car back, i got no where near what i should have but in the end i was just sick the car jumping into park and jerking me forwards all the time, i couldnt even take my children in ti for a year and a half. it caused me so much stress as i was getting a new job working away from home then moving house last year. Please please avoid.

Hi David Little confused with your review. Agree shortly after purchase you experienced a engine light which was swiftly repaired and car returned to you. Regarding the gearbox fault, we had the car for over 2 weeks and 400 miles, we were unable to replicate the fault. Event the independent engineer from the finance company was unable to find any fault with the gearbox or any thing else. He’s report gave the car a clean bill of health after which Santander closed your complaint. I bought a Mercedes Benz c class c220 cdi sport from them for nearly £10k the car had issues they hid the mot certificate it had x3 nearly bald tyres injector 2 was leaking all 4 alloy wheels were corroded one rear door didn’t work they claimed the car was showroom condition when I complained they said sorry they’re nothing we can do apart from buy the car back from you for £6k this was a few day’s after purchase I refused.

Purchased vehicle in August 2015, call June 2018 to report defects to vehicle. Tried to explain 6 month warranty expired 2 an half years ago, however proceeded to leave negative feedback. I’m not sure what we are meant to do.

Just returned after a 5 hour round trip to collect my new motors. Can’t be happier, car better than described, and superb customer service.
The guys at Brownroyd Motors were helpful and knowledgeable about cars. The Ford I bought was in good condition also really clean. As a whole it was great and would recommend!
