Good all round experience of the hazadous task of purchasing a new car. Honoured the part exchange price even though there were few issues with my cars. Finance promptly arranged, we drive away within a few hours. 2 months in new car running superbly. Would recommend looking at there website when looking for a new car.
Brownroyd proudly proclaim that " their cars are prepared to the highest standard" would beg to differ. Car provided with 12 month point of Sale MOT. 1 week later front spring broke, Fuel filter was leaking. In fairness they retreived and rectified. Not long after had a service where i was informed both rear shocks needed changing (£500 cost) plus Front brake discs. Brought these significant issues to Brownroyd's attention who didn't even provide me with the courtesy of a reply. Would probably not buy from these again as trust and respect are important virtues for me.
I bought a £20k car from Brownroyd Motors which after delivery and an inspection by the main dealer was found to be unroadworthy. Brownroyd flatly refused to acknowledge any of the issues and I only achieved satisfaction by taking the firm to the County Court where my case was won on every count. Be wary. This isn't a motor dealership you can trust.
Adam Ray from Brownroyd Motors Ltd in response to Paul
Hi Paul You had the vehicle inspected by the AA prior to the purchase who gave it the clean bill of health hence why you drove from Cardiff to collect the car. I have the report from VW who inspected the car after purchase there is no mention of the car being unroadworthy, beside I do not believe a unroadworthy car would have drove from Yorkshire to Cardiff? The only advisory be the AA was rear tyres would require changing in 2000/3000 miles for which we discounted the price by £300. It's not totally correct the courts awarded you full settlement rather for a full service when you had originally claimed £9000 but said you would be happy to accept £7500.
I purchased a Porsche from this dealership in May, The warranty that was sold with it is completely useless. There is a leak on one of the rear seals and they wont touch it stating that its wear and tear. Now having to pay out a lot of money to have it it repaired. Other than that I am happy with the car and glad that I bought it and I would still recommend the dealership but the warranty company are terrible.

I was selling a Vauxhall Insignia on E-Bay and needed to sell due to purchasing a BMW X5. I received a message from Adam asking to buy it as a Trade Sale. This was agreed and a price reached of £10600. I listed the car honestly and fairly and sated it's good points and bad points but the mechanical condition was perfect and had been fully serviced only 300 miles prior. Collection was booked for Wednesday, but I was badgered by the collection agent to collect the vehicle a day earlier which was inconvenient, but I did my best to accom. The driver arrived and choose to do his best to find fault and he was only able to find fault with a damaged wheel arch liner. The driver test drove the car on a run of 20 miles and reported back to the salesman Adam, that it drove well and that they were happy to proceed. Adam asked me to go out to collect the spare new tyres for the car that were at my mums, on this drive, the driver who now was a mechanic heard a noise coming from the back wheel rear wheel which sounded like a wheel bearing. He asked me if I could hear it, and I explained that as it had budget tyres on that it was the tyre had worn on inner edge. Adam the salesman was called and he went of at me, saying he was not buying it, I called the tyre dealer who diagonised the fault and who have been dealing with tyres for 40 years plus and they confirmed the issue. This was still not acceptable, I then called my mechanic who confirmed no faults or codes logged and def not a dif. In the end I lost my patience and bit, he has refused to buy the car now, saying its gone from wheel bearing to now a rear diff and wanting to knock £1500 from the price. I have refused to refund the deposit of £250 as he is at fault and I offered at his expense to have the car taken to Vauxhall for inspection. He won't but is being a complete lout, he has left my partner scared and we have had to log to the police in case our vehicles are damaged. He is now threatening Legal Action and I am more than prepared to fight this in the Courts. To any potential customer looking to buy from them, please air on the side of caution as I have experienced a very nasty side, not the nice friendly side from first dealing. To the garage owners, this report has been written with a honest account and I stand by the comments passed within my review.
Adam from Brownroyd Motors Ltd in response to Gareth589
Gareth most of you review is correct however you missed just a few very important points. The Insignia VXR have the common fault of a wining differential which is a £1500 repair. Apprecate you had a service carried out a few weeks prior to sale however Vauxhall confirmed cars are not Road tested when serviced therefor it would have been impossisble to pick up the fault on the service. I offered to have the car inspected at my expense from Vauxhall but you refused, not to mention the treats made to the driver. Cost me nearly £500 including the deposit to collect i car we didn't purchase. On collection you informed me a 3ltr sports car was registered to your 80 year old mother why? Money had to be paid to her? The whole thing seemed shady hense reason I pulled out of the purchase.
I had an all round good experience at Brownroyd Motors, the transaction went well, the car was absolutely immaculate and the range of cars they had all looked to a high standard, the salesmen were good guys, very friendly, the turnaround was quick and they stuck to the agreed price, I would recommend without hesitation.

Garage sold me an unroadworthy car not fit for the highway. Vosa called in as Mot showed the car as perfect. Brake sensors disconnected, oil leak on the gearbox, odd size tyres ( instant mot failure), Brake pads all worn, handbrake gone, let the new owner drive it away knowing they had to drive 300 miles in it. Avoid - trading standards involved It is a criminal offence to sell a car not fit for the highway.
